“satisfying both your stomach and your eyes. We had had very sumptuous mushrooms meal in Yunnan one year during the foraging season and still think of it every now and then. Our family has been in South Silk Road in Richmond a few times whenever we crave for mushroom meals and it happened we were in the neighbourhood just before a snowstorm this Feb so we had had to eat there again for a heart-warming lunch! There weren't too many customers (as compared to dinner, especially when people knew a snow storm was arriving!) We ordered our favorite mushroom pot, vegetables, and of course the must try home-made soy milk (this time I had the rose in soy milk)....we especially appreciate that you can order just one piece of the savory/sweet to try, rather than a whole dish....so we shared an assorted variety. Don't miss the rose pastry. (Too bad we only remember to take one photo because the dishes were too good to stop eating and take photos!)Very spacious with unique decor...enjoyed another delicious fulfilling meal while appreciating cultural design.“
“Very solid rice roll place inside the Yaohan Centre food court. This place gives Hei Hei (Richmond Public Market) some serious competition.Parking is plentiful in the Yaohan lot. They have many different types. I tried the beef one.Portion size is quite decent for the price. Skin is relatively thin (but not as thin as Hei Hei). Also there are a few pieces of bok choy (filler?) inside the rolls, so it's not solid beef. Something to keep in mind. But it was tasty.I'd come back. Great value. Recommended.“
“Argo Burger topped with bacon, cheese, fried onions and egg is served alongside a mound of fries. Delicious, whether eaten hot or cold. Fried chicken burger is one of the best in town. Fish and chips came with equal amounts of both, which translates into lots. Creamy Chicken chili con queso and heaping plateful of Spicy lamb on their respective beds of rice were stick-to-your-bones good. Then there's the home-baked pie and the OMG butter tart! If you're searching for comfort food with a serving of easy hospitality, this old-school Mount Pleasant diner is where you'll find it. #EastVanLoveRules“
“We tried the brunch at the Templeton for the first time today. The food was great and the staff were amazing. There was a line up but one of the staff was given us updates and making sure that we are doing ok. We used the time to look at the menu so we were ready to order when we sat down.We had a little bit of everything, and all tasted really good. On top of that we tried their milkshake which was very delicious. The vibe, food , and hospitality were worthy of the wait. Definitely will suggest them and try their food again.“
“Went here again yesterday with my sister. Friendly neighborhood dinner that I will miss because I am moving out of the neighborhood. Everyone is so nice. I love how they have floats here, not a lot of restaurants serve those anymore. The brunch items are pretty good, I do like the egg bennies and hash brown. This place has a cozy and homey feel to it which is cute.“
“The staff at the basic are incredible! I was having a really rough day, and ordered for pickup. On the phone I asked the women for an order of sanity at the end. She laughed said “oh I’ll try” Not expecting anything but a laugh. I went to pick up the food and was pleasantly surprised to find some “sanity” in my order. It honestly made my day.“
“Pretty good place, with good food! We had a simple breakfast of eggs with bacon and toast and was cooked well. I found the food pretty light (not greasy at all, which diners can commonly do), but maybe wasn't my taste since the food was a bit bland. Wasn't bad with a little salt and pepper.Service was great, seated right away and friendly staff. Atmosphere was what you can expect of a diner. Prices were okay, maybe a little high for an egg breakfast but not unreasonable.“
“It’s hard in today’s world of shrink flation to find a meal that fills you up. The potion was generous. The food was very good quality and service was fantastic. Many options here. It is a little bit higher cost but also, I suspect this is just due to the cost of doing business in Vancouver. I felt the value was very fair. If it was closer to me, I’d eat here all the time.“
“The atmosphere was really clean and gave off modern diner vibes! Nice place for brunch. I didn’t realize they had a trivia night and a boozy brunch! I’m curious what the price of boozy brunch would be but either way it was a good time. I also loved how they make their own hot sauces in house. I absolutely love hot sauce so was super excited to try it out. The green sauce was the spiciest while the red sauce was the mildest. I actually liked the yellow one the best which was right in the middle of spicy but had an interesting vinegar profile to it.“
“Food was incredible. Simon was an absolute gem and helped out myself and my friends visiting the area and Squamish. He gave us a full breakdown of the great spots to hit complete with a written list of attractions and instructions. Can‘t recommend this diner enough!“
“This place has one of the most unique interiors in Vancouver, the walls are covered with history, though it’s not necessarily something I would like in my own home. The service is on point, they are attentive and can get you in and out quickly if you’re looking for a quick bite. The burgers were a little bit over cooked and dry. It left our mouths full of a charred taste. Not a good kind of char taste either.Their milkshakes really are the main event. They are top notch and honestly the big reason why I keep coming back here. Great spot to pick up a creamsicle or lavender milk shake for a warm day.“
“Their cold noodles are rice noodles and taste good. I always want the chili oil to be very spicy because it’s actually not too spicy. It’s mainly fragrant. If you’re afraid of the spiciness, you can pour a little less. I feel like the chili oil is freshly made on a regular basis and is added with sesame juice. The sauce is very comfortable when pressed together“
