“i stopped to get Pad Thai takeout today while on a visit to Shawnigan Lake. The service was wonderful and the food piping hot and incredibly fresh. Right across from Masons Beach Park the short 5 minute wait was so serene. I will most certainly be back.”

“This little coffee shop is everything. The owners are incredibly kind, friendly, always welcoming- they make you feel like family. My son and I agree it’s our favourite. Seriously the best coffee I’ve ever had. A true gem in Shawnigan.”

“What a fantastic gem located in Shawnigan Lake. This restaurant is worth the drive from Victoria to eat at!It is hard to see from the road, but once you park, the experience begins! They have a large parking area, which is really helpful. You then walk down a few stairs (or can access with a walker / wheelchair via a small road beside the stairs). The views are gorgeous as you approach this lakeside restaurant.The building is beautiful, rustic, and perfectly set up to maximise patrons' views of the water!Staff are lovely, friendly, and attentive!And then, what people really care about - the food!The food was perfectly prepared and absolutely delicious! Their drinks (mine was non-alcoholic) were so delicious! I loved that they had a decent sized mocktail menu! I love that they have a seasonally changing menu, it means always new things to try!I wish we had room for dessert, but alas, I guess we'll just have to come enjoy it another time!It would be great for a nice night out or a casual meal with kids and friends.Thanks for the fantastic experience!”

“the food here is absolutely amazing! the chef is the coolest person as are the staff. they genuinely love and are proud if their store and it shows! the atmosphere is so fun and light. it is a great place to ho with a few friends and have a beer and yummy tacos on the patio. really enjoyed this place every time I have been. if you ever get the chance I would absolutely go and check it out. great to see a buisness like this in shawnigan.”

“The sushi was pretty good, but I thought the tuna was a little mushy.I really liked the person who waited on me at the till I believe he was the cook. The sushi was made fresh and quickly. I Heard that this restaurant would be closing down and i'm sorry to hear that. I don't think you can get fresh sushi anywhere in these parts anymore if they are gone.There is a setting sitting bar along the window.And picnic tables outside to sit at.”

“I couldn't visit my dad on father's day, as I have bad bronchitis! I ordered my dad a pizza from Sarpinos as his usual pizza place was closed. They delivered to my parent's farm, despite it being fairly far away in Cowichan Station, and my dad said it was "one of the best pizzas (he) ever had!" “It was a pleasant surprise to find such a nice Indian restuarant in Duncan of all places. Being an Indian, living in Surrey, I generally avoid eating Indian food when I come to the Island. However this time my buddies were craving Indian food, so we decided to give this place a try. Safe to say, this food can put most of the Surrey restaurants to shame! The food was fresh, homely and the staff were friendly. I recommend the goat curry which was really tender and well cooked. The prices were very reasonable too. If you are passing through Duncan, please give this place a try!”

“Just went with a group of people (to the Victoria Loacation), I had the Big Kahuna Burger and it was one of the best burgers I've ever had.I was hesitant about the Mango Ketchup but it was tasty.Will definitely go back and try more.Staff was friendly and even gave me a little tutorial on how to eat the burger as it is bigger than normal, the "burger bag" was a game changer.Go there, eat it. Be happy.”

“Happened to be in this area, and stopped by out of curiosity. Came in with no real expectations. I grabbed a breakfast sandwich, and it was truly one of the best breakfast sandwiches I’ve eaten. Everything from the toppings to the bun was on point. Will be back next time I’m in the area.”

“Stopped in on our way home to Nanaimo from Victoria. Very cool little ice cream truck in the parking lot near the Thrifty Foods. We had a couple of sundaes. The Strawberry one was very good, but the Black Forest one was amazing. The ice cream is vegan but you would never know. It didn’t have a strong coconut flavour which I do not care for. The prices were reasonable, comparable to other home made ice cream shops. There is a nice shaded seating area and you would never know you are in a parking lot. We will be back when passing though.”

“Tucked away on Kenneth St down town Duncan. Such a quiet, calm, relaxing atmosphere, well decorated in cafe style with sufficient seating inside & out.An abundance of delicious fresh baked treats, breads, drinks & much more.Quality is superb & pricing is very fair.The gentleman & lady that served me were friendly throughout.This is a must visit if your wandering in town or just want to sip coffee & relax”

“Gluten free household here! We've tried every gluten-free pizza in this town and hands down, this crust was so good, we worried we got the wrong pizza! Created our own BBQ chicken with that garlic pizza sauce ... speechless. Price comparable to anywhere else you'd get a dry, thin, from-frozen GF crust at $26 before taxes and delivery fees. I can only assume it was made from scratch in-house - doughy, soft, crispy, and holds shape even with loaded toppings. Only waited probably half an hour for it to arrive through Door Dash. Y'all doing the Lord's work for Duncan's gluten-sensitive! I'd give it 10 stars if I could - we'll be ordering again for sure!Dietary restrictions: (See above) - gluten-free crust available in 12" size, which is more than enough for two people.”

I arranged to have my son and girlfriend meet me there for lunch a few weeks back.Food is delicious BUT the beer is truly a work of art.I am hooked on yout Topaz Hibiscus. So smooth. So quenching. “Excellent spot for really really good food. Burger was one of the best I’ve had and the Benny was delicious. Their side potatoes aren’t amazing so I’d skip those next time. The service isn’t fast (assuming because everything is made fresh and created with care) so don’t stop in if you’re in a big hurry. Heated patio and restaurant were full at 11am on a weekday so it’s a popular place. Turnover seems consistent though so not too long of a wait for a table. A definite must in Duncan as great food is hard to find there.”
