“On this cold atmospheric rainy day, I'm glad I scored a parking spot right outside otherwise I might given up on trying this place. I'm glad the parking gods were with me today. It gave me the chance to try their Thai beef boat noodle soup. Omg it was perfect. The broth was a flavorful deep sweet soy sauce based broth with earthy spice undertones. The thinly sliced beef was tender. The noodles were al dente with a nice chew. Perfection in a bite. They had cute condiments but I didn't need to use anything. It was super tasty as it is. Anytime I'm in Alameda I'll definitely stop by for some great Thai food. A cute sweet Thai family runs this place.“

“Bacogai has been on the top of my bookmark list ever since I saw them on social media. Hot pot is my favorite type of meal so I knew I had to make the drive out to Alameda to give it a try! I was able to easily make a same-day reservation via Yelp, but because the restaurant was full when we arrived, we still waited about 15 minutes. We didn't try any of their drinks but they have a nice list of cocktails, wine, and beer. Now onto the food - We ordered the Beef La Lot ($25) as our appetizer and it was delicious. It was my first time having this dish and Bacogai has set my expectations high! However, my boyfriend mentioned that $25 is on the pricier end for this compared to other places he's tried. Perhaps because this is categorized as an entree on the menu, but I think if I were to order it as an entree, I would only get it if I wasn't that hungry since the portion is on the smaller side. For our individual hot pots, I got the Lau Oxtail ($26) and my boyfriend got the Lau Canh Chua ($27) which is mainly seafood with a sweet and sour tamarind broth. I really enjoyed my Lau Oxtail broth and there was decent amounts of oxtail, tripe, and beef balls. My boyfriend is a big fan of tamarind and his broth was very flavorful and "exactly what he wanted". Because the portions are on the smaller side and there really isn't much meat, we ordered the beef tongue and Australian wagyu beef as an add on to share. The quality of the meat was good but also on the pricier end. Service was great, they were very attentive, checked in on us multiple times, and re-lit our fires quickly when it went out (2-3x). Overall, Bacogai was a delicious and high-quality meal, but it was expensive for the amount of food we got. I don't think I'll be visiting regularly since the drive is a little far from me, but if you're in the area its definitely worth a try.“

“I stumbled upon this place a couple of months ago. Close to home and comparable to tasty pot. My brother likes boiling point the best but I have yet to try. I usually get the #11 with the Taiwanese spicy soup. My mom likes this place because they have stinky tofu (fried/with soup). The waitress that works there is really nice and attentive. Big portion except for the rice and vermicelli noodles. I never had to wait for a table and the price isn't too bad.“

“Nice place, just opened. We hope this business grows more in popularity because it's nice, a lot of potential and Alameda needs more places to eat with some variety. We went for breakfast, they had a good sized menu with many options. We had California Benedict and Steak and eggs. California Benedict was good, but came out Luke warm, considering we were the only two in the place, I was surprised. But it was yummy. The Steak and eggs were good too. The steak was very thick and made it difficult to chew, a thinner cut would be better. Still, very good. The servers were very attentive and friendly. The music was a bit of a turn off because they were playing the radio through the speakers. Hearing the commercials and talking from radio host broke into the vibe. The decor was kinda funny, but lots of seating and the lighting was cool. Some simple, cheap tweaks will make a huge difference in vibe. But we read they are keeping the decor from the restaurant before until they get settled. The big tv's showing news was a bit distracting. All in all, good place and did not disappoint. Come check it out and get the new restaurant buzz rolling. By the time we left the restaurant, the crowd was starting to come in.“

“I have been here 2 times now. Once for lunch and dinner, both doing AYCE. Today we made a reservation to celebrate my sisters birthday. We all loved the food, enjoyed the variety, and left very satisfied. Our server was great. It was one gentlemen working the whole restaurant along with a bus boy. I asked everyone in our party, and they would all come back. Favorite Items:My niece loved the corn cheese, the soy garlic Korean friend chicken (it was actually the favorite of most of the table) and quail eggs. My mom loved the mussels and the spicy miso broth mixed with traditional. My sister enjoyed the variety of veggies, lobster & fish ballsMy brother enjoyed all the meats and KFCMy favorite item to put in the pot is fish tofuThere is something for everyone here. You won't leave disappointed. One thing that I would tell you to keep in mind. Parties of 5 or more will get charged a service fee, which is the tip. On top of tax, the bill becomes quite expensive. We did the premium AYCE, and ordered a bottle of Soju. The bill total came to be $225, including tax and tip the bill was $300. Which comes out to $50/person. When I came for lunch with a friend. We ordered a grilled dish, soju and makgeoli. I believe we each paid $60 tip. The service was great. Food was great. &we all left satisfied. The whole experience was worth the price. I would definitely come again and highly recommend this restaurant.“

“I've been ordering at Marunouchi for the last few months and have been incredibly pleased. The fish cuts are premium and the bang for your buck is great. I ordered the tuna sashimi and it seemed to be the Toro cut (the bacon of the fish) which usually costs 3x the normal tuna price. For a quick snack I love the Ikura and side of rice. Can't beat caviar. I highly recommend it!“

“if you're looking for a solid late-night meal then hotpot nation is the spot to go in the east bay. their soup base options and variety in meat, veggies, seafood, and other ingredients available to choose from truly makes me feel like im in hot pot heaven. one thing id like to make a note on is the fact that i usually love eating my hot pot ingredients with sauces but with this spot their soup made each ingredient so flavorful/yummy i enjoyed it just as much without the sauces! what i also appreciate about this spot is how their service is more relaxed and laid back. however, if you need something there's a button at your table in which you can press so you can easily grab their attention which is so efficient. highly recommend for yall to check out this place with your friends and family!tips:- you can add different dividers/multiple soup bases in one big pot which allows you to share a fun meal with multiple people with different preferences- lots of parking available- lots of options for various food preferences- perfect for dates, friends, and family“

“They have good lunch prices for the mini hot pots. The broth for the beef satay was delicious and there is a good amount of meat and vegetables. It comes with rice or noodles to make sure you are full. It takes some effort to wave down some help. The mini hot pots can fit into a lunch hour as long as you get your order in quickly.“
