“Great wine, peaceful setting, knowledgeable owner. What more could you ask for? Stumbled across the store on my visit to Tiburon after walking off lunch from the Caviar Co and quickly became a highlight of my SF trip. You could easily spend a few hour sitting inside or on the front patio. Beautiful ambiance and it was refreshing to be given wine recommendations as opposed to guessing off a menu. Owner was kind and hospitable. If you're looking for a no fuss, relaxing spot with great wine, this is a must.“

“Amazing experience! We came here after a show that ran overtime, so we were a bit late. Regardless, we were greeted with a huge smile and the cocktail menu. When cleaning up the first course of bites, our server asked if we would like to leave the sauce to eat with the bread we had left. We both found this very thoughtful because usually at these fancy restaurants I’m worried about my food getting cleaned up too quickly and not being able to enjoy everything long enough! At the end of the night we had to run off to get our car out of the parking lot and completely forgot to take our to-go bag with us. We got a missed call and voicemail to let us know, and they were going to hold it for us for another 30mins even though we were the last customers of the night and had already left! The service was amazing and so was the food. I cannot recommend this place enough!Vegetarian options: If you inform your server that you are vegetarian they will point out everything you can eat. From my experience, there was at least one dish in each section to choose from, and I didn’t order that much for myself.“

“Everything about one’s experience here is superb. From the moment you walk in until the completion of the meal - it is top tier service. They care about all the details, from the freshness of each ingredient to the suggestions and pairings of items. We started with the olives and avocado salad - the olives were warm and juicy, and the salad was fresh and light. Paired well together! We also ordered both the squid ink special pasta and the truffle - they were absolutely delicious. We also ordered the garlic Parmesan focaccia and finished off with the chocolate mousse dessert. 10/10 recommend, everything was perfect!“

“What a fantastic place. I wanted to try this place for specifically its cupping pepperoni and I was not disappointed. The people behind the bar that night were so friendly, were hustling to get all their drinks made, gave just enough space and attention for us to enjoy our meal and chat while attending to everything else. We got both their pepperoni and the potato pesto pizza to try and loved it. Their crust is perfectly leopard spotted, not too thick, didn't overload the pizza with toppings, and used great ingredients. The pepperoni pizza was loaded with it and had a nice spicy/garlicy undertone. As for the drinks, we got a Shirley temple and a Bunny Hop cocktail which hit the right balance of interesting botanicals. We ended the night with a not too sweet but extremely moist chocolate cake and some of the best pistachio gelato we've tried. Not only was the pistachio on top but also mixed into the dessert. It had all the complexities you'd expect. Their bathroom is clean, their art decor is cute, their music taste is nice, and you can see them making the pizzas right there. Overall, a great experience and we will definitely be coming back.“

“We had an incredible date night experience at AltoVino! The food was absolutely amazing. We had an appetizer per the recommendation of our lovely server Christine that was maybe the best thing I’ve ever tasted and then my husband and I both had the Pappardelle entree that definitely lived up to the hype. More than the food though, the ambiance and service really made our experience. When we had a question about what wine to get, they sent the sommelier over for us to discuss with. Both the GM and owner checked on us. It felt like a cozy family owned restaurant meets fine dining. We will definitely want to go back as soon as we can! 10/10 recommend!“

“TL;DR: Worth the visit, unique flavor profiles and pairings! Exceptional service. I celebrated my anniversary here and they did not disappoint! As soon as we got seated, there was a note to acknowledge our anniversary and it was a warm welcome! As someone who is indecisive, I enjoyed the structure of the menu, first two dishes were included while you had options to choose from for the next three courses. We had complementary Japanese milk bread to start and it was probably the best bread I've ever had! The cultured butter and warm bread make such a cravable combo! The second dishes were light and refreshing! The cured hiramasa had the perfect touch of spice from the Fresno vinaigrette and the Asian pear cut through ever so slightly making it a delicate pairing with the fish. The beet tartare has good texture with the horseradish foam and crunch from the pine nuts. Second course, the celery root ravioli was different and had a light herbaceous note that made the dish not too heavy like other pasta dishes. We added the supplemental agnolotti and they did not skimp out in the truffles. We're not usually fans of truffle but it was not overpowering and complemented in flavor and texture. Third course, we had all three dishes! Seared black cod and the A5 wagyu melted in your mouth, we didn't even need the knife to cut through. The sauces in both dishes cut through the fattiness and paired well with the decadent taste of both the fish and meat. The Sakura pork had a good chew and smokiness from the breakfast sausage was unexpected but made for a desirable pairing. Fifth and final course, we opted to try both desserts! The profiles of both sweet dishes were different but worth the try. The spiced chocolate had subtle ginger notes while having a good crunch complemented by the meringue. Spring forward definitely gave the feeling of spring with light and airy flavors of nutty coconut and green herb granita! All in all, I'd revisit to try out the revolving menus, the chefs really put time and thought in the courses and left me intrigued for what's coming up next. Service was kind, informative, and attentive. Our waters were always filled, dishes bussed, and table was marked all at appropriate times. Thank you again 7 Adam's team!“

“L'Ardoise is an absolutely charming French bistro in a residential area, an easy block or so walk from the Market-Sanchez muni/bus stop. The food was simply wonderful from start to finish. Desserts: Valrhona chocolate fondant and floating island (meringue) in caramel sauce with creme anglaise. Lovely wine selection to go along with anything you choose. “Been here a few times for drinks or a happy hour and SF Wine Society is a gem. It has a fun bocce court, is well decorated with a sense of atmosphere, and the folks here really know a lot about wine. And as random a compliment as this is to give, the bathroom here is seriously decadent, beautifully designed and fancy??? I think that alone is a testament to the care put into this place. All the food is really delicious so I recommend getting something to go along with your drinks!“

“Have loved this place since it opened and though we live in the south bay, whenever we're in SF, we can always rely on this place because the food is always very fresh and innovative, the service is relaxed and unobtrusive, and the convenience to get back home is a quick 5 minutes to the freeway home and we're back in Los Gatos in 50 minutes after a day in SF. “Stopped in with my buddy before a Warriors game. Place is open, spacious and well lit so it's very inviting. We quickly found a seat at the bar for two about 20-30 min before game time. Ordered a few beers (great beer selection) and were sipping on drinks within 10 minutes of waking in the door. People sitting next us at bar were friendly and bartender (also part owner) was extremely helpful and attentive while we're there. We had already eaten but food on menu and at people tables looked very good. Will definitely make sure to stop by here next time I'm in the area with a little more time to dive into food and wine/beer menu.“

“Small wine bar in the heart of Russian Hill. Perfect spot for 2-3 people, since most of the seating is bar seating or communal tables. All the servers are knowledgeable about the wine selection and always have great recommendations. I love their orange wines and all the food is amazing. They make beautiful cheese plates and pair the cheeses perfectly with jams and honey. If you can't decide what cheeses to order, tell them what you like/dislike and they will curate the perfect board for you!“
