“This wonderful gem always feels like home and has very interesting and healthy food. The Tea Salad has been a big draw for over 10 years. The lamb curry is exquisite. All of the staff are heartfelt and pure. Try this restaurant and have a Chai tea or glass of wine ? as well.“

“I like the sizzling rice soup with extra broccoli. Too many good options to recommend off the lunch menu. The lunch includes a cup of hot n sour soup plus a vegan egg roll and rice. The general Tso's chicken tastes a little better when it cools down. I also like the mushu vegetables with tofu instead of eggs.“

“We came here for dinner and had a good experience. We ordered a Thai iced tea, special combo beef noodle soup, spicy beef noodle soup, and dry stir fried beef chow fun. Everything was delicious, and the service was quick and attentive. The prices are reasonable and the portions are large. Overall a good experience!“

“Sat down and had food in front of me literally within 5 minutes - I came on a weekday late afternoon so definitely not typical meal times, but WOW that was fast and delicious. Lots of vegetarian options, my soup was delicious + I was there at the right time for lunch happy hour prices!“

“This is one of the best Chinese restaurants I've been to. I come here from the East Bay to eat their food. The chicken is always delicious and not a cheap chewy chicken. I've ordered many other things on their menu and it's always good. The service is fast and friendly. The ambiance seems formal but is casual.“

“Happened to pass by this while walking around; so glad I discovered it! I plan to go back soon! I went there for lunch; ordered the dry sautéed string beans with tofu as a lunch combo so it included salad and rice. The flavor was great and the portions are just right.“

“Our pastor introduced us to this place. Since then, we have been here for dates and group events. We also ordered take out delivery. Each time, the food has been served hot, fresh, and tastes good. Good portion sizes. Customer service is good. Would ho again.“

“Decided to try a new spot. This place is good. The guy working was super cool too. Did not go light on the shrimps either (I already ate a bunch before I took the pic lol) didn’t look like there was anywhere to sit so assuming take out only.“
“Delicious food, generous portions, and kind staff! I’ve been addicted to their orange chicken and Lo mein - the chicken is crispy, has a lovely citrus taste because they add fresh orange slices, and the noodles aren’t overcooked or oily. The sweet and sour soup side is great too! Great to come here, especially as a student.“

“A delightful Chengdu-style restaurant! From warm hospitality to authentic Sichuan dishes bursting with flavor, every moment was a joy. The Sichuan maocai, sichuan boiled fish and Mapo Tofu were highlights, accompanied by impeccable service. A must-visit gem for spicy cuisine lovers!“

“Excellent dumpling place located in the heart of West berkeley, good selection of dumplings including some of my favorites like pan-seared pork buns and Szechuan noodles. It's a place that they stay open a little later than most of the dim sum spots in the east bay. Note. This is not a cheap dim sum place and all the stuff leans towards the more expensive.“

“I look forward to visits to Berkeley and my lunches at Camille Restaurant.I noticed improvements in service and quality of the food with the new management.I enjoy the many menu options and have not been disappointed with any of my selections.“
“I have to say it is one of the best crispy fried pork with sauce(溜肉段) I tried. I don’t mind the service. The owner is a interesting guy. I first asked if it is (authentic) north-eastern cuisine, because the owner is speaking southern accent. The owner is super impatient and asked me to the name of the restaurant. He also keeps complaining he is too tired. Anyway, would definitely come again.“

“Looking for some good ole Noodle Soup comfort food and read the reviews about this place so thought I'd try it... I got the Wonton Noodle Soup with Egg Noodles. It came with a very generous amount of Shrimp & Pork Wontons with Sliced BBQ Pork on top with Bok Choy. De-lish!!!!! I also order the Egg Rolls but for $14 for 5 which came out to roughly $2.80 each and I thought it a bit pricey (maybe because I did a delivery order) but they were good! Over all this place is a little more pricier than other Vietnamese/Pho restaurants but the quality of food is superior! This place is definitely on my repeat list!“

“Whoa! They have fish maw soup! I'm not used to seeing these kinds of ingredients outside of Chinatowns. I was so happy! The salt and pepper tofu was perfect--crispy on the outside and blisteringly hot on the inside. It wasn't too salty, either. The green beans were crunchy and delicious. My kid couldn't get enough of the seafood and tofu soup, which had some of the wispy bits of egg like egg drop soup except, you know, not dyed yellow. Food was copious for the price. Looking forward to going back!Earlier, we had the pan fried noodles as a pick-up order and the person on the phone asked if we'd be eating it right away or if we'd be eating it later, so she'd pack it accordingly. We said we'd be eating it later so she put the sauce into a container separate from the pan fried noodles. This was thoughtful, since it ended up being perfectly crispy with the right amount of chewiness when we put it together later.I really appreciated all the bok choy in the noodles. I'm tired of places that put in a ton of waxy white cabbage and carrots as filler. The number of shrimp wasn't skimpy, and they were juicy and big, not those sad wee ones. I'm looking forward to coming back to try more things!Google "Chinese restaurants 3.5 rule" if you get a chance.“

“Tried this place on a whim one night and was really pleasantly surprised! I love the style of personal hot pot when you get to pick all your own ingredients, but it had been a really long time since I've found one near me. I loved this place! All the ingredients were so fresh and they were very quick after we gave it to them. It was also fairly priced in comparison to Berkeley prices - it's $16 per pound and mine ended up being around $18.50. I thought it was well worth for the quick service, great food, and comforting, cozy atmosphere.“

“Really good flavors (a bit too salty) and authentic Hunan cuisine (meaning some chicken dishes will have the chicken chopped up, bone-in, skin on; the shrimp might be unpeeled and heads on; mild is still pretty spicy; organ dishes, etc.). If you are looking to get a flavor of authentic Hunan food, this is the place; if you are looking for American Chinese food you might be disappointed.“

“GC gets docked a star for two reasons: 1) limited access because the line is so long (reservations are only taken for parties of 6+) and 2) the kung pao chicken is disappointing. As an institution, GC has been the best Chinese food in the area for decades. It was once so small you could shoot an arrow from the front door to the back wall. Its corner spot now on Oxford & Bancroft is massive in comparison, so now more people can wait to get in. The space is modern and bright, but the food is thankfully not fusion or fanciful. The food is exactly what it says on the door: Great China. From the plump (but crisped-skin) potstickers to the mu shu pork to the spicy green beans to the Peking duck, it is deliciously predictable. When I order ma po tofu, I know I'm going to get silken cubes of tofu in a thickened shiny spicy red sauce with ground pork in perfect proportion. Service is as friendly as Chinese gets and effortlessly efficient and fast. Parking sucks; it's downtown Berkeley, people. But if my San Fran friends long to come here, you know it's worth the hassle.“
