“If your like me and grew up somewhere in New England with an amazing clam shack nearby where you lived then you probably also know you can't find whole belly clams anywhere out here. Except of course Pete's. Pete drives to the airport 3 times a week I'm told to pick up his shipment of fresh New England Maine lobster and seafood. His cooks have been taught well how to fry them to perfection. It's a true neighborhood restaurant with nice people, excellent service and a product that cannot be found anywhere else in San Diego. AMAZING! I have been going there for years. If you want to meet Pete you'll have to go for lunch. Seems like he's there every day. If it's dinner you'll be served by one of his people. All the same people I've seen for many years which is another sign of a good restaurant.“

“This place was very unassuming but the sandwiches were great! Literally a hole in the wall with great food which are our favorite places to stop for lunch. As I was standing there I noticed the smell of freshly cooked bacon which made me more hungry. They had creative choices and a lot of them. The deli meats and toppings tasted fresh and the sandwiches were nicely crafted. All our sandwiches were spot on. To top it all off the service was very friendly. “Gaglione's cheesesteaks are (obviously) the best in San Diego. My mom's from Philly and I've been many times, and I still think Gaglione's makes the best cheesesteak I've ever had. It's a fairly small shop but the vibes are great, you're greeted with smiles and hellos when you walk in and the staff is just awesome. I wish I could remember the name of the gal who took our order (Feb 29 around 1pm?), she was just so sweet and helpful. She even came outside to bring us our food because we're not the brightest apparently and didn't realize we could not hear the orders being yelled out from outside. “I always forget how good this place is for some reason. They knock it out of the park with really tasty, really creative sandwiches and salads. It’s sooo overpriced but it’s a solid treat every once in a while. Note that it is a bit slower than other places in the area, so make sure have about 10 mins to wait for your food after you order. If you have the time, it’s worth it. Also - get the pomegranate mint lemonade. If you’re already paying for the lunch, you won’t regret spending a bit more on that killer lemonade. Devin, Kiana, Danny and Hunter are the best bar tenders IMO but generally the service is always great no matter who you get.“

“Gone here a couple times, both time for a late lunch. It wasn't busy at all. We ordered at the counter and our sandwiches were ready in about 10mins. First of all, these sandwiches are huge. The bread is perfectly toasted, crunchy outside soft inside. The chipotle sauce is soOo yummy with the cool deli meat as well as the warm carne asada. Definitely one of the better tortas I've tried. They also offer juices, salads, tosti-'s, etc. there is small dining area is available, no public restroom. Good for a quick lunch or to grab a meal to go. Small parking lot shared with other businesses. It seems like they make a specific amount of hot meats and can run out later in the day. (We wanted a couple chicken tortas, but they only had enough meat for one sandwich... we got deli ham instead , and it was just as good!)“

“It's an unassuming shop that has a good variety of banh mis (sandwhiches) among other typical Vietnamese Deli selections. The sandwhiches were pretty good and fairly priced. They definitely hit the spot when you've got that craving! The staff is very friendly, if a little bit sparse. They do work quickly to get yoru order prepared. I liked their selection of banh mis, they've got the classics and few others for the uninitiated. The bread was great, crunchy exterior and soft on the inside. “I had been looking for a new sandwich spot since my favorite one closed down in Chula Vista. My brother invited me here for lunch, he's a regular. I honestly wasn't expecting much because of the location in this little plaza, but boy was I wrong! This place was a 10 out of 10 from the service to the food. It's a family owned establishment, which I love. The young man working behind the counter had a nice smile and was friendly and attentive. His name was Donovan and he had told me that the people who work there are family. You can tell by the way he treated us that he takes pride in his family's business. The sandwich he made me was one of the best sandwiches I have eaten in a long time! I ordered the California sandwich and I'm already wanting to go back to get another one. I highly recommend this spot and definitely will be back for more.“

The funk music playing gave this place a cool and inviting old school vibe. 90% of the sandwich patrons were in fluorescent work vests eluding that this is the local fave amongst the real people of the city! My friend and I split onion rings and mozzarella sticks. They only gave 4 mozz sticks and they were like half baked, not crispy at all or gooey. The onion rings and ranch were good but the sandwich was bomb af. The sandwich was really nice as well.“

“What a great place to order from! I needed 28 sandwiches for students for a field trip. We were able to order online a couple of days before, and I was able to pick them up at 7:45 am. So glad they open at 6! Before driving over my one concern was that in the past, the lunches were in boxes. But I was really happy that all the lunches were in bags and in a handy reusable bag! It was really simple, Blackforest ham and cheese on Italian bread, Doritos, and a chocolate chip cookie! My students were happy! I was happy! The two women who were working were friendly and cheerful and I appreciated that especially this early in the morning! I will definitely order from them again!“

There is a comfortable amount of seating (inside and outside), the food is satiating, and portions are great value.
