“Delicious and fresh food. We had the mixed ceviche, chicken nachos, pork belly, birria tacos, and the chicken burrito... everyone enjoyed their food. Two servers for the amount of guests appeared a bit too tasking; we had to flag them down and exercise patience; nonetheless, we appreciate that they did their best.“
“I came with my coworker for lunchtime and this place was a hidden gem. Omg, the food is beyond delicious. I ordered fish and shrimp tacos since I am near San Diego. The seafood was so fresh and had that authentic Mexican flavors. The owner and staff members were very friendly and professional. I am glad I stopped with my coworker to eat there. I highly highly recommend this place to everyone in the area. Thank you for your hard work and delicious food,,,“
“We were in the area and decided to find a good spot for Mexican food. We tried their carne asada fries, surf n turf burrito, fish and carnitas tacos and horchata. Carnitas tacos was excellent and pork was flavorful. Surf n Turf burrito is full of flavor and good amount of meat and shrimp. Family enjoyed fish taco and CA fries. Had better horchata elsewhere. If you’re in the area, definitely worth trying. We came before dinner crowd and the place was empty, ambience was very clean and inviting, good music and ample parking. The 2 workers (male and female) were very friendly and helpful, even helped us bring drinks to our car. Great first experience!“
“A place that primarily makes churros? Yes, please! Of course I had to go. The first time I went they had an issue with the machine so it took a bit longer than expected. They were very kind and apologetic. Things happen and I understood. They fixed the issue as soon as possible and I got my churros. I have been back a few times and every time they have been crispy, hot and tasty. They give you a generous portion in the churro bites (my favorite). The sweet cream cheese dipping sauce is my favorite. The churros are great every single time. The only bad thing I can say about this place is that they now deliver. I don't have to leave my house to get some hot, crispy, delicious churros. As a matter of fact, I'm enjoying some as I write this.“
“This is top 2 taquerias for me , top 1 in SD county as of now. Tiny little place but the food is simply amazing. Took me about a year to find a taqueria like this. Did I say the prices are excellent?Don’t get the carne asada fries unless you have another two humans to share with. Massive !“
“I have lived in San Diego for 5 years, and Tacos Don Paco is THEE best Mexican food ever!!!! The rice and beans were right, the Birria street Tacos are AMAZING, and my hubby loved the Tortas!!! They have so many salsa options as well, each were perfect! I cannot say enough about how great the food is here!!! Thank you!!!“
“I am just a visitor from Maskachusetts but I love Tacos. Nothing prepared me for the amazing quality, flavor and enormous size of the Baja fish taco and carne asada. Going out on a limb but I think these might be the best I’ve ever had. The owners and employees get an A++ for gracious hospitality too. Lucky I read the reviews on Yelp to find this wonderful spot!“
“Some of the best buche, cuero and carnitas tacos I’ve ever had! If you go make sure you try out the cueritos tacos! You will not regret it ?also the chicharron is nothing but ? I took 4 lbs to go back to LA. Hidden gem in fallbrook for sure, will be coming back when in town!“
“I've been coming here since 98' when I was stationed at Pendleton. Everytime we visit, we come here. Place has not changed and the price still matches the quality/quantity of the food. The patio is nice with parking available behind the building. Highly recommend ?“

“Birria El Mendez has the BEST BIRRIA - HANDS DOWN. I always get the quesabirria tacos but I've tried most things on the menu and you can't go wrong with anything. Service is always excellent - no matter the location of the pop up - every person that's taken my order has been amazing! The family is down to earth and they work hard. Thank you for blessing north county with your Birria“
“Great place to grab authentic Mexican food. Went with my family and we all ordered different things and every single dish was beyond our expectations! Such delicious food and great service. Clean restaurant and fast food delivery. One of my favorite items was the cafe de olla, delicious! Will be going back.Kid-friendliness: I took my two kids and there was high chairs available for them and plenty of kid friendly meals to choose from.“
“Excellent food (I had three of their exquisite shrimp tacos), excellent service (everyone was quick to help us with our dining experience not just our designated waiter. On top of that, our waiter in particular had a very delightful and positive personality), and excellent atmosphere (both indoor and outdoor, seating is very tasteful and the vibes are incredible, the music especially is my favorite). On top of all that, the prices of everything is extremely affordable and reasonable! (Each shrimp taco was only 5$!!!) This is a 5 out of 5 establishment and I plan to come here again the next time I visit San Diego. (The complimentary chips and salsas, yes plural, are incredible too!)“
“You can’t beat the .69 cent taco Tuesday deal!!! The meat is always warm & fresh!!!! Although recommended getting there early because the line builds up quick but definitely worth the wait!!!!! You can never go wrong with the asada, chicken or al pastor.“
“Phenomenal food, I have never had anything that wasn't delicious and exactly what I ordered. The variety and flavor lean heavily towards authentic dishes all while providing customer service that is very unCalifornia (I.e thoughtful, sincere, and expeditious) and and wrapped in a beautiful shop that's always clean and inviting!“
“Dining here was great, this is a great place to get American Mexican. And sometimes, that’s what the heart craves!I tried the carnitas and they were pretty good, nice and juicy and the flavor was good. Our friend had the shrimp enchiladas and they loved them. Margaritas were on point and they have 2$ off during happy hour. The ambiance was nice, there’s parking and plenty of seating inside and outside.Service was very attentive, and we loved it. The chips and salsa were unlimited and DELICIOUS. They give you complimentary both flour and corn chips.“
“Staff are prompt and quite friendly. They're very knowledgable of the menu. Restaurant is very clean and has a good atmosphere.Be sure to get the birria ramen with their habañero salsa! The fried stuffed quesadilla is just perfect. Overloaded with meat! Two thumbs up! ~ 5 stars! ~ Delicious food!“
“This is the best Mexican Food Restaurant in Oceanside and throughout North County. Also the only place that offers authentic café de la olla! If you stop by for breakfast ask about the Huevos Veracruz, it's super delicious ?I always recommend this family owned restaurant to all my friends and family! ?“
“Excellent! Food 5 stars! Service 5 stars! We ordered the 6 beef taquitos to share. The guy taking our order was extremely friendly and helpful with menu items and info. The taquitos were crunchy and the meat was tender. They're topped with lettuce, sour cream, guacamole and tomatoes . They also come with onions and cilantro which we left off. We also ordered a side of beans which tasted fresh and homemade.Definitely returning!“
“Taqueria Chabelita taco shop is a gem – the friendly atmosphere, thanks to Kimberly’s welcoming demeanor, makes it a place worth revisiting. The authentic Mexican flavors, generous portions, and affordable prices create an inviting space for enjoying delicious food. I can’t wait to return with family and friends for another delightful experience, the Carne asada fries were delicious!“
“It's the best Mexican place I ever visited. The employees are vary kind. The place is vary pretty. It is the best Mexican restaurant I have ever visited. The employees are super nice. The place is very nice. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️“
“Carne asada burrito was so good, I went back for breakfast the next day. Great bacon and cheese omelette. My friend loved the salad with roasted chicken and fresh veggies. Good size portions. We were full, with leftovers. Will definitely go back.“
“Difficult to find late night Drive Thru Mex Food spots in North County. That alone makes this spot stand out. Ordered a variety of food that did not miss. Custom orders were met and food was spot on ! Lots of veggies options . Thank you Los Junior’“
“We have been coming here for over 20 years and absolutely love it. The food is always good. The portions are large, and the staffs incredibly friendly. The restaurant is nice inside and they also are very quick with their to go pick up section.“
“My friend recommended this place to me and now it's my go to taco shop when I'm in Oceanside! You order first and then follow the line and give the taco guys your ticket and then they prepare your order. Tuesdays will be busy so prepare to wait during prime dinner hours! The meat is tender and full of flavor and their tortillas are so good, not dry like some other places. Their must get is their fruit waters!! You can also pay for an additional refill and it's less than buying another fruit water!“
“If you are looking for big food with big flavor this place is right up your alley. There are a lot of good Mexican restraunts around here but this one is the best by far. Beware, one taco here is like ordering two. Everything is really fresh and the service is always good. They don't disappoint.“
“Absolutely amazing food and service. Very quick with service without sacrificing any quality! 10/10 recommend...especially for you Midwestern folks that haven't had good Mexican food. Hard shell tacos with the neighbor's ground beef doesn't count.“
“Biggest burritos I have ever had, and delicious.During a recent vacation to Oceanside I tried Colima’s breakfast burrito, california burrito, and fish tacos….each one was amazing and generous on toppings!!! Staff was great, location was very clean….cant wait to get back there!“
“The margaritas are the best I've ever had. This place is authentic, fun, and tasty. It feels like we are dining south of the border. If you are looking for romantic, this is not it, but if you are looking for real Mexican food, this is the place. The Barbacoa is so good that there may be a line to get in. The lamb broth that is served with the barbavoa is super yummy, too. We will definitely return!“
“First time visiting here, as we are passing through. For a Tuesday night, there were quite a few customers - all of them seemed local, except for us. Service was wonderful, with a smile and patience while we worked out the menu.Food was very good, served on VERY hot china plates and we used proper metal cutlery - really refreshing to find a place that doesn't rely on single use plastics. If we were staying longer, this would become our favourite place to eat.Thank you.“
“Cortez Mexican Food is our favorite spot to go for burritos and rolled tacos. Their potato egg and cheese burrito is the best I've had in years. Quality and service is also consistent and top notch. Highly recommend trying them out, we'll be back without a doubt.“
“I live 30 minutes from the restaurant and I never regret the drive. Besides being next to the beach, the food, the service, the people, the atmosphere, the music especially the barbacoa.Lluvia offered us the kindest service in the world, very attentive and brightest smile ever.“
“Fresh and delicious. Perfect for friends lunch, family celebration or fun dinner. Lots of margaritas to choose from, impeccable service.Parking: Lots of spots, ample parking, not too far to walk if you are at the furthest part of lot.Wheelchair accessibility: Easy access, pretty flat with little elevation.“
“I went here for taco Tuesday ?. It was my first time trying this restaurant. The staff was very nice and made me feel welcome. I ordered 10 Carne asada street tacos for $1.50 each, a small side of refried beans and chips. Everything was so yummy. I'll definitely return here again for taco ? Tuesday.“
“Perfect rolled tacos with all the fixings done just right. Not too crispy, not too soft. Just right! Also ordered their delicious potatoe tacos ? ?Vegetarian options: Vegetarian options available. Potatoe tacos ? and veggie burrito ? as well as the bean & cheese if ya feel like pushing it as a Veggie-saurus ?“
“The atmosphere is nice, they had a live pair performing. It was a tad bit loud but good ambience. The bakery and restaurant are separated so it’s easy to get your bakery items without having to walk through tables. The food was tasty and well portioned. The chilaquiles were not spicy at all, I wish they were a bit more spicy but it’s understandable.“
“Food was great and beers were cold! We had a party of 6 right in the middle of the dinner rush. I felt the food came out in a very reasonable time +/- 15 minutes which was great seeing how busy they were. Patio seating was very pleasant with the heaters on low in November.Vegetarian options: They do have vegetarian options but I did not read them because I'm a meat eater!Dietary restrictions: Listed in vegetarian section and pretty sure I saw lo-carb options.Parking: Parking lot is small but there is plenty of street parking within 30 second walk.Kid-friendliness: Game and coloring materials. Also kid friendly meals listed on the menu.Wheelchair accessibility: ADA compliant.“
“My wife and I were there today for lunch and got a nice table right away. The food was very good but when I got the bill I noticed our 2 soda's were $5 each. Seriously ??? That was more that the soup and the taco's. Next time we go there I'll ask how much a glass of water is or I'll bring my own 25 cent bottle.“
“I have been coming to Jose’s 1999 and they have consistently been my absolute favorite taco shop. I moved from the area up to near the Oregon border and crave their tacos. I have searched high and low for tacos that compare to no avail. Luckily, I still have family in the area and can stop in during visits. Not only is the food good but the service is good and the place is always clean.“
“Never been here and I've lived up the street from them for over 15 years. Just went in to pick up a parrillada and a potato and bean burrito. My boss had the burrito and LOVED IT!--He is a VERY finicky eater. I had the parrillada and it was savory, hot and fantastic! Lady at the counter was very sweet and the food is unmatched. I'll be having the oysters next time. My only advice is that this place needs more light. It's a bit dark in there.“
“Traditional Mexican market experience. Love the food, the ladies that work there are super helpful. I have a sensitive stomach that acts up when I eat low quality or poorly prepared food, and not once have I felt sick after eating here! Not all of the employees speak English, but that's OK! Everyone there wants to help, and is confident to ask you questions to make sure you get what you want, even if there is a language barrier. Example of this was today my back was hurting, I went in for my breakfast and to buy some Tylenol. They got it all at the register for me, and I asked her how to say "back pain" in Spanish, to which the other lady who did not speak English came over and suggested instead of Tylenol I take Flanax. I took her suggestion and feel so much better, works better than my typical Tylenol fix, and I've never heard of Flanax before. She could have sold me the Tylenol, and that would have been fine, but she went out of her way to make a suggestion from her experience, and that shows compassion that I don't expect from a stranger.10/10, they will be seeing me most-every morning while I'm working in the area.“
“I went online and looked at the menu found what I wanted me to call me to order when I got there from a Que Torta and a large orange juice it was $28 online the juice said it cost 575 when I got there I was charge 1156 a heads up when you make an order check what they’re charging you for. Because online they have a different price and when you get there it’s a lot more“
“I am happy to see that this place is still in business. I live in New Mexico now, But, I lived in Oceanside a little over 30 years ago. I Never forgot the wonderful food & service. I Remember "Patty" & "Jose Ochoa." I hope they are doing Good today, Great memories of food & Friendship. Donna King“
“I stopped by on my lunch break on a whim the other day, and got the best Carne Asada burrito of my entire life. It was delicious, even after taking it to go. Since then, I have had it on my mind for days, and went back again tonight. Will be back again and again.“
“If you're looking for excellent enchiladas, their sauce is incredible! You can't beat the prices here! For a drive-through, it's a must stop in Oceanside. If you are at the train station, it is a quick few minute. Walk and worth it. We took our luggage with us and sat and enjoyed the beautiful outdoor weather on the patio. As we were leaving, I had to go back in and give my compliments to the chef.“
“Some good grub. Father said one of the best Chile Relleno he has had. I got a burrito combo. While looks plain had good flavor but must been smallest burrito I’ve ever had. More like an enchilada Will go again though. Offer senior discounts and daily specials.Parking: Small parking lotWheelchair accessibility: Has handicap parking in the rear with easy entry“
“We drive from San Clemente to eat the street tacos . My family loves it . They sell elotes Mexican style , bread . The best part is drinking a cold beer wile your at it .. They know how to make a real street taco with double tortilla just how you get them in Mexico. cash me outsii how bou that's!!!" “This place has been a God send to our neighborhood. My husband and I love Mexican food but until Rancho Viejo got here there wasn't a really good taco shop we liked. Ranch Viejo never disappoints. Their food is consistently delicious. Literally could eat there breakfast, lunch and dinner! The cook really puts love in his dishes and the ladies at the counter are so friendly. It's always clean to eat in or to go is great as well, they make sure you have everything! We love it!!!“
“This is the first time I have been to Moe's. Bob the manager, Tom Nathalie and Daniel served my wife and I. The different types of salsa were outstanding. We got the THE HOMEWRECKER burrito. It was awesome. It was so good I got one to go for later. Quality food and service really matters!“
