“I really can't say enough about how good Kashiwa Ramen is; I love it so much I've eaten here several times in the last two weeks. This has to be one of the best ramen spots in OC currently. It originally started in Japan and came over to the States. In terms of quality, it definitely seems authentic.I've tried several items on the menu, and every time, it's delicious. I highly recommend dining in, but even if you order to go, or through doordash, it always comes piping hot and high quality.Today, I tried the Tsukumen, which is hard to find at other shops because it is a traditional dipping noodle where you dip it in the soup. I would highly recommend trying their tonkatsu ramen, although they also have other great items like smaller portion chashu rice bowls, which I swear the meat is so soft and tender. The chashu pork comes out great every time. The soft boiled egg is perfection. Both the straight and wavy noodles are wonderful. They also have a swirl broth, which is absolutely delicious; it's a mix of their pork and chicken broth together. They also have green tea, which tastes really crisp and fresh. They also have chicken if you don't eat pork.Overall, I really love Kashiwa and plan to continue frequenting it. The only critique I can give is that I wish the waitresses would check in on the tables at least once or twice every so often. Everyone is so kind and polite and the service is very fast. Dining by myself, i am in and out in under 30 minutes or so.Thank you so much for the wonderful meals, I plan to continue coming here in the future, and I hope more people come too.Vegetarian options: They do have tofu as protein for all ramen, miso ramen, sea kelp ramen, and other various side dishes like egg on rice.I would double-check with the waitresses to make sure the broth is 100% vegetarian.Dietary restrictions: If you do not eat pork, they have chicken as a protein topping as well.Parking: Big parking lot in a busy shopping center.Kid-friendliness: There are probably not a ton of options for kids, but if your kids are more adventurous, im sure they would enjoy it. I believe I've seen kids eating pretty plain ramen, just noodles and broth.Wheelchair accessibility: I'm pretty sure it's accessible to get in, but it is a small store and pretty tight. You may be able to fit your wheel chair at the counter if you ask.“

“Got the Tokyo Mazeman regular everything (garlic, etc) and it was AMAZING. Glad they gave rice for the end because I wanted to soak up the leftover sauce and chives. Also, adding their house vinegar really makes the mazeman and cuts into the oils of the sauce - highly recommend. The regular Tokyo version has a small kick, so I also had their draft Asahi to make the experience just right.Vegetarian options: There's a separate section for vegetarian and vegan optionsParking: Parking is easy in the plaza“

“I love the food and service here. I like the Katsu Curry more than the Shabu Shabu one since it's more savory. The salad with salmon skin is also amazing and it is a good appetizer. I also ordered the Assorted Tempura but I don't really recommend it since it will be a bit too much to eat all the sides and finish your bowl, unless you go as a group because I struggled to finish my bowl after all the tempura filling my stomach and, you know, fried food fill it quick.Overall, probably the best Udon place I ever tried in OC.“

“I’ve lived in San Francisco for years. So, I know Pho! And, tbc it takes a ton for myself to feel motivated enough to even consider offering up any kind of review. This place is on par with all the high end Asian cuisine restaurants you can find in the OC. Broth tasty. Meat lean and tender. The server was friendly and consistent. And, with a trendy, up beat atmosphere, that invites you in, too. Chloe took care of me like I was fam as a first timer. I do value great service. And, the cooks (wud up, Matt!!) know how to throw it down. Go here if you’re looking for a satiable dish, and you’ll be happy that you came.Vegetarian options: Superb option.“

“Ah, this spot is a nice little green oasis in the concrete jungle of Orange County. Great spot to relax and sit amongst the tendrils of vines. They even have some neat art books to peruse on shelves next to the bathroom. As for food, hubs and I split a pho banh mi, French dip style + some egg rolls. He got a Vietnamese iced coffee and I had the iced jasmine tea. All delicious, all decently priced. Good spot to go to without having to go to Westminster. I'm always finding fusion restaurants dubious, but this one did a great job of honoring Vietnamese food while making subtle twists.“

“GREAT udon place in South Coast Plaza- always stop by when I am around shopping. It can get a busy on the weekends but the weekdays are perfect to sit down and eat. My personal favorite is Kitsune udon with potato and tofu tempura :D Very reasonably priced and the udon is delicious. There is also a location in West LA (Little Osaka) but this location is so much more convenient for me. Parking is super easy- lots of free parking at South Coast.“

“I and my colleagues went here for dinner one night whilst in Costa Mesa for a conference. Overall, the experience was very good. I had the Crispy Hainan Chicken rice plate, which was very good, bordering on excellent (4.5 stars). The chicken was dark meat, nicely cooked and lightly battered and fried, the fried part nicely crispy. It came with a nice mixture of sauces with a little spice for the chicken, rice, and a large side of excellent pickled vegetables, plus soup. The portion was sizeable, the price reasonable. Others I saw or tried mostly got noodle dishes. The portions were very large but very overly saucy with somewhat mushy noodle, mostly lots of mediocre noodles and less of other stuff. The consensus overall and from what I noted seems that most of those dishes were fairly good but not great - about 3 stars overall. Again, however, most of them I did not actually try, only observed and talked about. A side of string beans was very good - about 4 stars. They have some cocktails. I had the Capital's Old Fashioned, made with Japanese whisky. It was good but a touch too sweet and light, in part no doubt due to the use of Japanese whisky which is lighter in character than bourbon or rye, my preferred base for an old fashioned. It had a nice quality cherry. It was good - about 4 stars. The place was fairly nice inside, attractive and comfortable. Service was good and friendly. Unlike another experience, even though we all sat at one table, they had no problem giving us 5 separate bills.“

“My boyfriend and I came here on a Wednesday afternoon. We walked in and were seated right away.Server was wasn't the friendliest, but was attentive. The restaurant itself is very small and seating is limited. There are a few parking spots right in front of the restaurant and more parking in the lot behind the restaurant. The weekend is very crowded but during the week it's easier to find a spot right in front. Definitely recommend giving this place a try if you're craving ramen and in the area!Food review:Slurpin ramen: (4/5) The broth was so full of flavor. I loved the thickness of the broth. “I've been on a mission to try omurice with demiglace sauce and not the lazy ketchup drizzle. While Aoki No Chuuka didn't have Omurice, they did have Curry Omumeshi. It looked interesting and from the pictures, it looked like demiglace sauce. So I ordered it to try. This was very tasty. The curry fried rice is delicious. While the sauce doesn't seem like it is demiglace sauce but something similar to Bulldog Brand Sauce. It still worked. Definitely recommended.“

“Never disappointed by this phoholic location! I've tried the Stanton location twice and never thought it was that great but I've also tried this location at south coast twice and loved it both times! Not sure what's different between the two but glad I didn't give up on it! The service is great here, very fast to take our order which I like because we know what we want to order at this point (phở tái). The broth is full bodied and the meat is tender. If you come with a group of two you'll probably be seated at the bar which is really nice and intimate and has buttons to call the staff in case you need them. If you come with a bigger group you'll be led to the tables in the back which is more comfortable to socialize with friends or family. If you sit at the bar you'll pay at the counter where you checked in.“
