“It's now become a routine and I come here several times a week for a bacon stuffed roll + ice coffee. When I'm feeling extra adventurous, I would get an everything (sourdough) bagel as well. If there happens to be banana bread, I get that every now and then because it's pretty amazing. The biscuits are also phenomenal. I've tried everything now but the sandwiches and since everything else is amazing, I assume those are great as well. Service is always amazing. Ambiance is always amazing. Take my money. You had my heart when I locked eyes on the Cannele de Bordeaux from a distance. I haven't had one in many years and hoped their version was how I remembered them. Tiny, brown, sweet, hints of rum, carmelized coat with a slightly chewy and slightly crunchy outside, soft and dense on the inside, and custardy in the middle. Although I've had them in other places none hit the same. Until... I discovered the Bread Bar! They are at the Little Italy Farmers market in SD on Saturdays and at the Santa Monica Farmers market. And indeed, their version of it is PERFECT!!! Gave me an O-face and sent me to heaven. Yummy. :: Backstory :: Cannele de Bordeaux are my favorite French pastry... my favorite pastry... in the entire world. They are hard to acquire as they are not always found in the states. I use to treat myself to them at a French bakery in SF when I had one of those really good days that deserved a reward. I was quite obsessed with them. I was gifted with a set of Mauviel M'Passion Copper Molds (have yet put to use all these years to make my own but love to marvel at as a fixture in my kitchen cabinet). Can't wait to pick up my 6!“
“While vacationing we like to find local small businesses. I am so glad we found offset. We ate breakfast here every morning. We had the lox, avocado toast and an egg and bacon biscuit. These delicious dishes were made with fresh ingredients and were also visually appealing. The coffee is roasted here providing the best quality product. The talented baristas are super friendly and able to answer your questions. Ample parking is available next to the building and handicap parking and ramp are out front.“

We ended up getting the Gravlax Works (on everything bagel) and an Onion bagel with jalapeño cream cheese, to compare to Layla Bagels next door. Overall really delicious - the gravlax works was perfect and light, the salmon was amazing - perfect flavors! I definitely prefer this one a bit more. And for the other bagel, the jalapeño cream cheese was a nice touch ,though when comparing to the basic bagel we got from Layla's, the schmear was a little less flavored. The line moved quickly and the workers were all nice! Can't wait to come back to try the pastries and also grab a loaf or two to go!! :) *Note that Jyan Isaac Bread and Layla Bagels seem pretty strict on their outdoor seating, reserving the seats in front of their restaurants for customers only. I like how the cookies are smaller than the Big Cookie trend that's going on so that can taste more of their creative flavors. Also lower pricing point per cookie as well. My Fav is $100k Cookie. That thing was amazing, i was only supposed to take a bite cause i had 3 other flavors to try but Nope couldn't do it, i ate the whole thing. It had a chewy caramel center with gooey milk chocolate and crispy rice crispy's on the outside. Street parking available, they accepted cards and staff was very helpful. “I must have died and gone to doughnut heaven. The donut texture is fluffy with a pleasant slight chew, and not oily or too sweet for the most part. Most were priced $4-5 each but I find it worth it for the quality of the ingredients.Our favorites are the misugaru (roasted soybean) because it's mild and nutty and has a chewy filled mochi inside. The black sesame is also intensely nutty with a chewy mochi inside too. My wife loves the sweet potato cream the most because it has fresh sweet potato puree along with milk cream, and it's the Korean/Japanese sweet potato that's delightfully sweet and nutty.Tiramisu had plenty of rich cocoa powder accompanying the tangy cream (probably cream cheese mixed in it?). The bitterness of the cocoa was the best together with the cream.The strawberry milk cream had a small amount of strawberry pieces but the cream was so milky rich yet light at the same time. The blueberry one is the exact same except with a few blueberries so I slightly prefer the strawberry one.Matcha creme brulee had strongly flavored matcha cream but I'm not too much of a fan of the sugar crust top. I might still try the regular creme brulee next time to compare the regular custard.Our least favorite was the apple cinnamon because the icing was too sweet but the presentation was beautiful with the pieces of apple inside.We saw quite a line build up after us at 10am so I'd come early since they open at 9am until they sell out! The parking lot is nice and big so it wasn't any trouble finding parking. The mall also has other interesting stalls like a kimbap and udon one if you need some savory to offset the sweet.“
“AMAZING cookies! They were not kidding when they said they stand behind their craft. I've been on a cookie streak recently and have tried many different shops in the area with over 4.5+ in ratings. Most often than not, I left feeling disappointed. Cookies would either be stale, too hard, too brittle, too sweet, or pretty good but not worth $5-6. This is one cookie shop worth talking about. They carried all the exotic flavors, with the right texture and sweetness. I look forward to trying other flavors next time I visit. 1. Guava Cheese (9.5/10) - I love guava, and I love cheese but unfortunately for me, I can't do goat anything. Though there's only a hint of goat cheese, it's still there and you can taste it, if you are sensitive like me. Otherwise, it would've been a 10/10. Amazing texture and flavor. You will love this if goat cheese is your jam. 2. Matcha Strawberry Yuzu Mochi (9/10) - it's ALL there! A melange of different flavors that blend quite beautifully. Mochi is a little gritty (don't expect Japanese mochi texture here), but the cookie itself was so good and that touch of yuzu was exceptional. 3. Mango Sticky Rice (8.5/10) - Again, another unique flavor mix that was really nice. Sticky rice on top tends to get a little hard over time, but if you're a mango fan, this would be a flavor for you. They did not skimp on the ingredients and there's enough dried mango chunks for you to enjoy with every bite!“

“Closed on Sundays, go to the website to find out that day's flavors. They change every week. There is NO free tasting. There was some mention of trying the flavors so i thought there was. But i asked at this last visit and No there isn't a tasting available. The cookies are BIG and heavy in weight, they have a real buttery undertone. The milk chocolate chip cookie is my favorite. The chocolate chips are decadent. They are crispy and gooey. I toast them for a crispier cookie but it IS a great cookie. The brownie cookie is also great. There are many more flavors but haven't found any other flavor YET that i love as much as these two. The workers are nice, helpful, your order prompt. I would give those cookies an A- but that's because I prefer a crispier cookie. The flavor is there, i'd definitely return and have been there numerous times“

After my wife and I had our first couple visits there, it was great. However, subsequent visits went from awful to the absolute worst. They failed to recognize our reservations a couple of times and when they got it wrong, they made us rush to order. I would get their food again but suggest getting it delivered to spare their nonsensical restaurant/business practices. If you want the pulpo, get it there and not for delivery. And for some reason, when you get the saltado delivered, you don't get the egg. I'm assuming it's due to possible foodbourne illness issues. Five stars for food, one star for service/attitude.“

The burger is great and the bun is slightly crispy which is exactly I am looking for in a gourmet burger. The sauce is well balanced with a slight tanginess. I wish the side fried potatoes could be a little more though.I also ordered an Americano. Interestingly they served you a shot of espresso and let yourself add hot water to your like. Much better than republic, or nearby sweat wheat, or anything i ve randomly tried that was not worth remembering. 2nd of 3rd best croissants in the US that I ve had (upper crust in Gainesville and Leo s bread in new orleans if curious). Location is great as close to the beach, in a nice walkable area. Not over commercialized, looks over quality store. It s a simple small store putting out great pastries.The stuffed croissants are very good. They had an outstanding selection of donuts on display in their glass cases as well as a nice, large menu board offering up all kinds of snacks, drinks, and sandwiches.The four donuts I sampled on my visit to DK's were fantastic. It was honestly a very hard decision. I had to limit myself to four because when I buy donuts, I have very little self control and know I am going to eat them all the same day. Besides, donuts are always best when they are fresh.The strawberry nutella cronut style donut was amazing. Lots of rich, hazelnut spread flavor mixed with strawberry. The plain glazed donut was top notch. I always try to get a plain glaze and use it as a baseline. A great plain glaze donut is always a treat for me. The cinnamon sugar cronut and the peanut butter cup donut were also great.I know there are other "DK" donut places out there. This one is a real treat and I think it is the OG one. I think two cookies were enough to get me good & the others were extra credit. Load up on napkins and the customer service was great.Just be aware the gas station didn’t have whole milk, just 2% but all the cookies were still phenomenal by themselves. And how can you beat Gelato and a cookie.There was indoor seating and outdoor seating as well. Staff seam very friendly and loved to talk about their baking process. The Staff does a good job talking up the cookies and the cookies live up to the hype.If you are staying in some of the higher end Beverly hills hotels you can ask the front desk if they have any of the cookies available, as they seam to be the go to cookie for the big hotels to display in their lobbies. If they have run out, stopping by the store is a must stop while in town.Parking: Lots of parking options. Closest is paid street parking. Depending on the time of day you can park right in front of the store. There is a parking garage about a block away with free 2 hour parking or a parking lot a block the other direction offers free parking for the grocery store but a good choice for a quick cookie stop.Kid-friendliness: Lots of cookie, Gelato, milkshake options. The milkshakes are real cookie pieces which kids seam to find extra exciting.Wheelchair accessibility: Ramp at the entrance and easy to move around store“

I can walk in and grab a donut at 5pm and it still the softest donut for miles. They use a high quality flour for their donuts and it really makes the difference.Sometimes when I'm not in the area and want a donut I'll stop somewhere else and get some. They are never as good as Dough Boy's and half the time I have to spit out these other shop's donuts because of how terrible they are in comparison.If I'm eating the calories I don't want to waste them on some other store's tough, sub-par donut.
