“Service was unusually distracted, with table clearing occurring prior to permission and large periods of time between service. Reaching across guests and late bottle of wine delivery caught my attention. Perhaps there was a shortage of staff last night? The kitchen did not disappoint which is always my experience at Animae. ❤️❤️“
“The gentlemen were super nice and really attentive to my preferences. It blew my mind the way they combined ingredients to make the cocktails taste exactly how you wanted them to. I had a Tiramisu cocktail for dessert and it was phenomenal!“
“This was the last lunch of my five day vacation in San Diego. I had seen this restaurant on the map and was interested, but hadn’t yet had the chance to go. As soon as I came in, I asked to sit at the bar and was welcomed. However, this place usually has you order at the front before taking your seat. The bartender was super friendly with lots of energy and she knew the menu well. She had great hospitality because even though a few of the parties that arrived after me consisted of people she knew, it did not distract her from serving other guests.I tried the margarita with both the spicy and mezcal option. While it was tasty, it wasn’t very spicy. That’s something I can’t say about the dishes I ate. I asked for advice and was told to order the Baja Fish and the Mesquite Chicken. I was warned the chicken had a bit of a kick.Mesquite Chicken - it was tender and tasty. It was about at a medium level, but did not build to the point that you could not eat it. The best part was the chicharrones created from chicken skin. It added a crunchy texture that perfectly countered the soft corn tortilla.Baja Fish - all of the flavors danced with each other perfectly. While another patron seemed emotionally offended by the chorizo-tomato vinaigrette, I thought it added an excellent touch to the perfectly crisp tempura fish.It is more of a boutique, hip style taco spot, but the food is fast, delicious, and plentiful.Vegetarian options: Mushroom Taco, Cauliflower taco, Chipotle Rice“
“Wow - I've never had a dining experience quite like this!! Went out to celebrate me and my siblings birthdays.First off, this was the best service I've ever experienced in a restaurant, thanks to all the staff there but particularly our server, Megan. She was utterly delightful! She answered all our questions about dishes and was spot on with her descriptions. The carrot cake she recommended was truly delicious!! She was attentive and detail-oriented in the best way. They brought us hand-written birthday cards and a three very large and yummy macarons with candles on the house! The food was absolutely fantastic. Especially the hash browns, mac n cheese, and the lamb. The espresso martini is the best I've ever had, it didn't taste like alcohol which was perfect :PThe design inside and on the rooftop is immaculate, really a beautifully designed space. We were there for three hours, didn't feel rushed, and truly got to soak in the evening European-style with multiple courses and a beautiful sunset. Will definitely be back for a special occasion :)“
“Pricey. Exquisite atmosphere & delicious foods for dinner. Group of 13 of us booked the Captain’s Room which requires a $800 minimum. Popcorn was served while gathering our orders and it was a unique starter. 100% recommend the duck meatball ($19) and the Molten Chocolate Cake ($12)!“
“Came here for happy hour and sat at the bar.(+) Cocktails were delicious - Kingfisher Spritz, Golden Hour, and Favored Winds.(+) Happy hour salt and pepper fish was very good.(+) House made egg noodles - super good(+) Wagyu smoked beef rib - really good.( ) Service was nice but we got asked how we were doing by like three different people repeatedly and it got a bit tiring.(+) Vibe is cool. Nice bar, ambience is really nice.“
“Came here for the first time to celebrate a friend birthday. We had the bottomless bubbles, which was a great deal, and really enjoyed the three juices. we also acute espresso martini and our friends drink. They actually wrote happy birthday. I had chili and I thought it was delicious. The weight staff was very friendly and the ambience was very clean and prestige. I will definitely be back..“
“We visited False Idol for the first time on a Thursday at 10pm. We ran behind that evening and had to cancel our 9:15pm reservation with short notice. Despite this, we were greeted very warmly by the hosts and offered standing room. The ambiance inside is so fun. We were only standing for a minute or two before Elle(so?) made us feel at home, recommending delicious cocktails to try and took our order. The drinks came quickly. The Mac But Chi Chi was the hands down best drink ever. Period. I was so happy for that suggestion! The other drinks were delicious too and we were even escorted to a table that had opened up. It was the best way to end our evening and I can't wait to visit again! Thank you, False Idol, for such a lovely night!“
“Came in looking for a fried fish taco but their grilled fish taco was off the hook. Wasn't necessarily looking for ceviche but ended up trying their verde sauce shrimp ceviche, it was flavorful and spicy. Definitely coming back. Service was phenomenal, super friendly. The place is small and parking may sometimes be a little challenge but worth it to come and enjoy this pace.“
“On our last night we wanted a relaxed Mexican meal so headed to La Puerto at 560 Fourth Avenue. On arrival we were offered the worst table in the place. We requested a booth, which they didn’t want to give us one so we sat at the bar.The waiter was a lovely chatty guy who said he originated from Warrington. For drinks, we ordered cocktails. I had a Whole Lotta Love. This was La Puerta’s hand crafted house Margarita made with Reposado Tequila, Agave nectar and fresh lime.My husband had the Low Rider. This was La Puerto’s Cadillac Margahita made with Anejo Tequila topped with a blend of cognac and orange liqueur.I have to say neither of them were particular strong. There might have been some watering down going on.For food we ordered…Mix ‘n’ Match Signature Street Tacos. This was a combination of three tacos served with refried beans, rice, rajas con crema (sliced poblano pepper with cream), cotija cheese, limes. The tacos we selected were:Carnitas, my personal favourite. This consisted of slow roasted pork, guacamole and pico de gallo.Ranchero Shrimp, which was sauteed shrimp, ranchero sauce, cabbage, cilantro and crema.Pollo Asado, which included grilled chicken, guacamole and pico de gallo.Along with this we also had Pollo Asado Fries. These were really tasty loaded fries known as Papas Fritas La Puerta. Topped with Cotija cheese, jack cheese, grilled onion, poblano, crema, guacamole, pico de gallo and cilantro. The icing on the cake was the mixed in grilled chicken.“
“I've been on a burger kick so my husband has been taking me to all his favorite places. I ordered the balboa burger and it was delicious ! Along with the fries , I really enjoyed the aioli sauce. I'm excited to come back and try out the different burgers. Everyone who works here is great ! It's a pretty cool place to drink some beers and play some pool.“
“Beautiful location. Very spacious. Outdoor dining on a chilly March evening was just fine due to the heat lamps, which lent to the ambiance. The kampachi appetizer was delicious. Dirty martini and old fashioned were expertly made. Salmon has a nice crispy skin and beurre blanc sauce was decadent. Recommend for families, couples, friends, etc - everyone is made welcome. Service was impeccable and witty as well. Thank you, Paul!“
“We’re from out of town but were craving some good fish tacos. TJ’s did not disappoint! We got the octopus, ahi tuna, garlic shrimp, taqueso shrimp, and smoked tuna tacos. The octopus and smoked tuna were our favorites! Our server was extremely helpful and provided great service.“
“Room 56 is one of the best speakeasies I've visited - and I've been to a lot! The bookshelf entrance was so fun, and every cocktail was unique and perfectly crafted. I loved that the corresponding craft cocktail was included to indicate the flavor profile of the Room 56 version. The conversation starters on our table was a wonderful touch. Also, since it was a Wednesday night, the space was so calm and quiet. I'll be back the next time I'm in San Diego!“
“Located on Logan Avenue in the Barrio Logan neighborhood of San Diego, this small restaurant offers delicious, authentic tacos. We enjoyed the swordfish tacos and coconut battered shrimp tacos. We also enjoyed the Coco Pudding with fresh berries We were disappointed that they did not offer to go options because we wanted to take our food to watch the sunset. They were out of a couple options we wanted to try. We arrived at 6:30ish p.m. and found a parking spot in front of the restaurant.“
“Delicious food and fun atmosphere. We came for late lunch before concert at Petco Park. Was fun to hear the sound check and Billy Joel. So many fun places to sit- see pictures. We sat on 2nd floor balcony and had prompt and friendly service by Spencer. The food is EXCELLENT. We enjoyed scotch eggs, the burger and crispy chicken sandwich. Burger was cooked perfectly, juicy and served with a delicious truffle aioli and roasted tomatoes and pickled onions. Highly recommend.“
“Dropped in for a late-night beverage and wow did this bring back memories of a youth spent in rural Idaho with many of the same items around our simple town and home. For anyone fond of the classics and the ‘good ol’ days’, you should definitely pop in for a drink to check it out.“
“We came here once on a recommendation, and then we’ve been back two more times in just a few weeks we’ve brought other people there, who also had a great experience, and went back the very next day. I definitely recommend it to anyone and they have a phenomenal happy hour. Make sure to ask for the garlic knots. They are complementary but you have to know to ask!!“
“You and Yours feels like coming home. It’s a place that I can come by myself sit at the bar and have a conversation with the staff about my life. I’ve celebrated so many occasions here and it is truly one of San Diego’s best. The drinks are unique, the staff is kind, and the price is completely fair for what you are getting. If you need a place for a pick me up, a celebration, or a happy hour before heading home, this is it.“
“This place came recommended, and well, it didn't disappoint, although it didn't wow me either. Perhaps I wasn't in a mood, but I rate it 7. There are 3 locations, and we went to the 2nd location on Main Street. Portions were good, tad too expensive for the quality of food. All in all, it was ok.“
“Huntress, Huntress, HUNTRESS! That's all I can say. I was in San Diego for a work trip, and this bar came highly recommended. And I'm here to keep up that tradition. The drinks are amazing, the atmosphere is phenomenal, and the bartender was so freaking kind. If I could give this place 10 stars, I would. Put it on your list. Lemondrop, French 75, Old Fashioned, Coffee Martini...whatever your drink of choice, they'll make you the best you've had.“
“I have been a lover of Puesto since it's first opening in San Diego at Seaport Village. Since then, I've frequented the locations in La Jolla and Mission Valley. The Mission Valley location is the best of the three, by far. Not only is the atmosphere wonderful but so is the staff. Particularly, I must mention Ricardo, who has been one of my favorite waiters there. He is attentive and makes you feel like family. You can tell he enjoys his job. I'm there almost every Tuesday for Taco Tuesday and it's mostly because of him. The food is fantastic and so are the Puesto Perfect Margaritas! Highly recommend!“
“Came and ate here and had a few slushies. I had the Mexican Firing Squad, my husband had the Ube Colada. Both were delightful! To eat I had the Shrimp Fried Rice and my husband had the Fancy Grilled Cheese and added chicken. The food was delicious! Especially the SFR! It was a very large portion. A friend of ours had the wedge salad and it was huge and looked ? delicious. I will be ordering one next time. They had great music going on amd the staff were all super friendly and welcoming. I will definitely be back!“
“The best experience in San Diego. Sean is an incredible mixologist and human. He truly understands what makes a balanced cocktail. Besides that, he is an incredible human. This is a not to be missed place. Also the breakfast taco is *chefs kiss*.“
“Very modern and attractive open air setting. The patio on the water is great and design quite successfully brings the outdoors inside on a cool spring evening. We loved on our first visit which will definitely not be our last.Service was excellent too on a quiet Monday evening without a reservation.I normally have a fish entree and the oysters were tempting. But for some reason I chose the burger. It was delicious. They have a pretty good selection of wines by the glass, including a red blend called Pessimist which I buy by the bottle for home when it's available. Do try it. It is excellent!“
“Thank you for helping my wife and I make a great food memory on our recent San Diego vacation! Craft & Commerce was a fun vibe for a couple small town Montana kids... Loved the eclectic atmosphere, the playlist was on point, and service was friendly, unpretentious, and no-pressure. Food was great, interesting and rich in flavor (if unconventional). One of the best burgers I've ever had. Thanks again for an awesome experience!“
“It's fun and quirky. Neat displays. I wouldn't say the video game selection was very good. But a good amount of pinball. All in all, it was a fun 60 min. There was a table in the middle of thenplace, that was full on gang members, that kept meeting the eyes of anyone that dared to look. So, maybe go in the day time?“
“Great food served up by Chef Rose and Chef Kevin! Be sure to try the mango wings and shrimp skillet to start your meal. I haven't been disappointed by anything on the menu. It does get a little loud for happy hour and turns into a nightclub on the weekends.“
“I'm not vegan, but we visited Kindred for brunch because one in our party was vegetarian and we figured this would be a good place to take him. We were able to get a reservation for window seating in advance, choices were standard table or window. The table at the window was a long communal one and as our brunch experience went on, they slowly filled the other seats, trying to space out each party as much as possible, which was nice. For Saturday and Sunday morning, they let us know to only order off the brunch menu. We got the wfflhaus potatoes to share, which came as roasted fingerling potatoes doused heavily in vegan gravy. The gravy was thick and chunky and tasted pretty similar to the real deal. For my entree I got the norm code, which had scrambled vegan eggs, vegan sausage patties, fingerling potatoes, and I chose rice porridge for my side instead of toast. It was my first time having vegan eggs and it definitely tasted just like tofu, the color was a curry bright yellow, so while the attempt was good, it certainly was very different from actual eggs. The "sausage" were pretty tasty as it had all the spices a breakfast sausage would have though I thought it was a bit chewier than meat sausage. It was a decent experience for me for vegan food and I would definitely recommend it as a place to take vegan and vegetarian friends.“
“What a fabulous place for a night out on the town to meet new people or creating memories with friends and family. You won't be disappointed. This place has class and sophistication with live music and Happy Hour nightly. Since this was our third time dining/drinking here this week, we thought we would share the love and invite one of our favorite couples to happy hour. The GM, Rudy was very hospitable and Gabz produced some delectable cocktails. The food was A-MAZ-ING!! We ordered the Chicken Flautas served with a tasty mole sauce, Pork Belly Tacos, Spicy Wings, Beet Hummus & Crudite Plate. For dessert and the pièce de résistance we ordered the chocolate cake. This was truly an overall excellent experience and we'll be back as often as we can!“
“Went there for a drink yesterday afternoon with my friend. I love the cute place. When the weather is very nice, I like open space with friends. Last year I did pre-game with my friend was fun too. I didn't order food yesterday and last year only had fries but next time love to try their food menu so that I can post ? my review. Oh drink is so good! Love the naming.“
“On a busy Monday night, my wife and I walked up to the hostess and requested a table for us + our infant in a stroller. Minutes later, we took the elevator to the roof where we were greeted and the table had a chair removed for the stroller. A server came and gave us water and told us that our waiter would be over shortly. The restaurant was super busy and the hostess noticed that our waiter hadn't yet stopped by and asked if we wanted to put in anything while we were waiting. The wait wasn't very long at this point but we loved the attention being paid to us. We ordered a Suntory highball that was refreshing, edamame, the Lumi roll, the signature "pizza," and a ceviche. The food was delicious and we were quite full from this. Throughout the night, the DJ was fantastic! We probably would have stayed all night to enjoy his mixes that had us singing to 90s, 2000s, and some current hits. Added bonus was a rocket that flew over us. The trail from the rocket paired nicely with the restaurant lighting for a cool image.“
“Brink your grub on. This place rocks, it's filled with plenty of patrons who adore the feeling of community togetherness. Drinks are spot on, being that it's lent, I ordered the salmon kabob, tasty. My friends had the ribeyes, which they have the privilege of never cooking one over an open fire. Lesson learned and new friends made along the way. Outstanding garlic bread to add to the grill and toast to your perfection. No one to blame for I'll prepared meal here. Can't blame society. Cheers“
“Excellent eclectic mix of food. We had their Grandma’s pie with fried prosciutto (just try it), calamari, tuna tartare and their signature happy hour drink. Peter, our server, was fantastic; knowledgeable and made the best suggestions for us to try. We’re only in San Diego for a few days, but we’ll likely be coming back for more.“
“Waited 5 years to eat this amazing Russian food. Used to be jam packed with people and hard to get into. Only to find out they turned it into a hookah bar a few months back and its dead empty. Not a place for families anymore sadly. Just a forewarning for people who are not local. Did not to get to try food this time :/“
“I'm so happy I was able to try this place out. I ordered before sitting at the bar, and I was so excited to finally try someone else's sinigang wings. (I've tried to make it three times now.) The wings definitely didn't disappoint. I ordered garlic rice with it and pandesal, and it was a beautiful combination. I also loved that I was able to get calamansi juice. So delicious.“
“Escape to the vibrant spirit of Cuba in San Diego, and indulge in the lively beats of Caribbean music, refreshing drinks, and mouth-watering cuisine. Experience the unforgettable flavors of our Cuban Old Fashioned and Jamon croquettes, and savor every moment of this exotic adventure.“
“Enjoyed the substantial cocktail menu and that their happy hour deals are every day of the week. My cocktails were well balanced and served in lovely drink ware. You can tell the bartender knows what they're doing. Very few people on a Sunday afternoon, but a great spot with various seating options (inside / outside, bar / big table / small table) making it a solid choice for most occasion. Didn't try the food this time.“
“We stopped in for drinks while in the area and really liked enjoyed the vibe and decor. We can’t speak to the food but the drinks were tasty. It was a little difficult to get the bartenders attention to order another drink so we just decided to ask for the check and move on. It wasn’t busy (weeknight) so that part was a little disappointing. We will come back again for dinner next time and hopefully can move this up to a five star review.“
“On our wedding day, my wife and I wanted unique experience amongst the local speakeasies, we found Noble Experiment with ornamented walls of bronze skulls and a bar with no menu. We went for the atmosphere, but we’re coming back for the bar. Sierra was our mixologist and after a quick conversation made two amazing drinks for us. Thank you!“
“Amazing service and food was great! Menu had options for everyone! salads, sandwiches and burgers, so yummy!Vegetarian options: Salads, sandwiches and soupsParking: You need to pay but it's very cheap, 1 dlls an hourKid-friendliness: There's space for them to play and roam around, beautiful view to the marina“
“First time staying at this Kimpton in the heart of San Diego. I am a loyal Kimpton follower and am part of their loyalty program. I love how unique each property is and when you have good staff, the customer is treated like gold. The team at Alma, specifically Danny and Noah, made my short time there so special. Danny reached out prior to my stay and was so informative and helpful with things to do, restaurants, and hotel info. I was able to meet him at checkout and he is just a fantastic human! Noah was friendly and kind at check in and throughout our stay. The hotel is near the waterfront and is close to everything we wanted to see (and the airport). SD is huge, so having a car is helpful. Alma offers valet parking only, but there are plenty of garages nearby. Our room was huge and gorgeous (we had a suite which I would highly recommend). Super cool graffiti wallpaper, fun light fixtures, and gorgeous balconies, tons of space to relax or work. There is a pool on the 4th floor that was open. Leave of Absence bar there was not and the pool was a little cool for me. Great spot to chill though. Plenty of seating including cabana beds. Kimpton has a great amenity program if you've forgotten anything at home. They offer complimentary wine hour from 5-6 in the lobby. This hotel has three restaurants. We tried The Cafe for breakfast and it was perfect. This hotel has an exceptional selection of branded merch in the lobby. Why not purchase something to commemorate your stay? I'll be back here soon thanks to the incredible service.“
“Omg I wish I had a picture of the chicken nugs ...let me tell you, I can no longer get chicken nugs or tenders anywhere but HERE for the rest of my life lol. They are brined in pickle juice, then dipped into buttermilk batter and fried!!!! It's out of this world. They arcade games, pool, ping pong, tons of games, a lot of fun! I cannot wait to come back! Definitely worth driving out of PB into Downtown!Kid-friendliness: Before 8pm I believe... Not sure... Our kids were at home! Date night“
“A group of us came here as we waited for others to arrive in the area for dinner. We each got a mixed drink. Total was $20 which isn't too bad. Forewarning the place is CASH ONLY. There is an ATM machine in there. There is also two pool tables and art on the wall that can be purchased. Overall, is a chill spot.“
“The place is in Little Italy. It is quite spacious and there is space inside and on the terrace. We loved the pizza. Also for $6 there is the opportunity to go gluten free. The pasta can also be gluten free. The flavor is good and the sauce they serve with the bread is delicious. The only disadvantage I can highlight is that there is no wifi! Sometimes if necessary!“
“Of all the rooftop bars in San Diego, this is my #1 go to secret favorite and always drag my friends here at least once. The drinks are strong the views are amazing and the fire pits just make it perfect. I've been here on nights with DJs, nights without DJs, nights were you can see the games, nights where you can watch the sunset, and every time its been an experience. Service is great, the bouncers are friendly. There is a no large bag policy so they will check your bags at the door. Very professional club with amazing food, service, and atmosphere. I personally always recommend their Vodka-Cran, they have a magical clear cranberry juice.“
“Visited on Friday afternoon, and our server Brandon (I think that was his name) was great! Made exceptional drinks. We ordered 4 different ones and enjoyed them all, especially the Vesper. We always visit this place on our trips to Gaslamp but this was our first time in the afternoon, so it was nice to see it a bit more quiet.“
“Great music good people. We visited N City Spirts Lounge for a birthday party who received VIP service. It was a fun evening. I would recommend going to this establishment if you are in the area and enjoy listening and dancing to R&B and Hip Hop. The DJ is phenomenal.“
“Best service ever Stacl was outstanding, Wonderful, kind, and attentive. Possibly the best waitress ever, she really did a fine job.. Sadly and unnecessary background sound of thumping base, which was unnecessary in an active restaurant bar. It contributed nothing to the atmosphere just an impediment., Thank you.“
“It's was exactly how I remembered it as a kid back in the mid 90s when it was at its original location by 7th street where the study 3 use to be. Great food with great service ? there mushrooms are my goodness can't even describe the deliciousness of them & there ravioli sheesh which ever type you get you'll love it guaranteed the only thing is I remember there meatballs were much bigger kinda a bummer but they are still good ? this restaurant I never want to see it go. This place is awesome ?“
