“So glad that I finally visited Mitch’s Seafood! I don't get down to this area much, but decided after returning from a recent trip to check it out since it’s so close to the airport. It’s location from the street and parking lot is not really obvious. It sits behind a fishing charter company with an unassuming entrance on the side. Indoor dining is not that prevalent but there’s plenty of outdoor seating along the wraparound deck. I can't imagine not sitting outside here unless it’s unusually cold. Stunning views of the surrounding marina makes for such a lovely setting.The staff I encountered were all so friendly and genuine. One even complimented my t-shirt. Order at the counter and they give you a number; food is brought out to you. There is an impressive selection of local craft beers on tap. Served in a flimsy plastic cup that can be awkward to manage. I ordered the “Mixed Seafood Platter” and really enjoyed it. Comes with a crab cake, calarmari, fish and shrimp with fries & slaw. I have to say though, the crab cake should be renamed “crumb cake”. No discernible lumps and quite the disappointment. Probably the first time I didn't finish a crab cake on my plate. Everything else was excellent though and such abundant portions.“
“Stumbled across this gem. If you're in the San Diego area, I highly recommend. The food was great and so was the service. Ribs and pulled pork were my favorite. Sides were delicious too. Mac, baked beans, and slaw were all good. The corn bread is the best I've ever had. Spacious place to hang out with friends.“
“So many things I could have ordered, the options on this menu are vast, delicious, and represent both the American diner the place started as as well as the Mexican roots of the owner. If you like good food this super friendly, no fuss but all flavour place, is one of your best options on Coronado. Went with my kids who loved the huge pancakes, soft french toast, and crispy fries. I had the BLT-A, tried some of my dads fish tacos and my wife’s chorizo burrito, and look forward to going back for it all again sometime soon.“
“We came in from las vegas and decided to try THE BALBOA SOUTH after hearing good things. We were not disappointed. The overall environment was clean, up beat, and family oriented. The centennial burger was massive and cooked medium the way I like it. The garlic fries, and salt and pepper fries were on point. The dark horse stout awesome!. Okay in done. Definitely will be going back before our trip is done.“
“I've been on a burger kick so my husband has been taking me to all his favorite places. I ordered the balboa burger and it was delicious ! Along with the fries , I really enjoyed the aioli sauce. Don't listen to google, it was totally open on a Wednesday at 3 when google said they are closed on Wednesdays. The coco ono ipa was delicious! I'm not an ipa girl, I dislike hoppy beer, but the subtle coconut flavor made the beer delightful. But hands down favorite, so good I said "f*** that's delicious" after my first sip was the Ziggy Stardust sour. And the taco trio was outstanding -- I couldn't finish it (the little side of tortilla chips and salsa were delicious, too! I added avocado and it elevated already perfect tacos. “A place to get burgers & bait and beer while you're fishing. Although technically, you don't have to be fishing to eat here. If you're walking by or you're in the area and it's a nice day, it's a nice place to just grab a little bite to eat, especially on a nice day.The prices are a tad high but let's just say having a burger in the sunshine is totally worth it.Parking: Plenty of free parking. It's at a park right next to a large music venue and when there's no music, there's plenty of parking.“

The beers on tap have 3 sizes.I got 5 ounce Carlsbad crush which was too hoppy for me but if you pair it with food, it took the hoppiness down and a notch.Then I had the 5 ounce Invita - Mexican lager which was light and yummy. Tasted even better with food pairing.The location is at a corner. Literally a short block from the Sante Fe Depot trolley stop. All tables were bar height except for two tables in the corner.Friendly staff and great ambiance.Dogs are allowed in the patio. However, inside dogs are reserved for service animals.“

“Loved the atmosphere for date night. We got served quickly despite the busy night. Our drinks were a bit too sweet to drink a full drink, but I know if we asked they would have dialed it back on the sugar next time and nailed it. Seems like it could be a fun place to meet people too - pretty social all around based on the amount of standing room. Get on the list for the speakeasy in the back when you arrive if it’s a weened and they aren’t taking reservations in advance. Would definitely go back for another date night or with friends.“

“The breakfast was excellent, especially the avocado toast! One thing that surprised me for an Omni, was that the atmosphere was plain and uninspiring. Also, I wasn’t sure if the service was over-the-counter or waiter service. It all turned out fine in the end, and it was an enjoyable breakfast with good service!“

“I know people have said it before, but the location of the Beach & Taco Shack is fantastic. The ocean, live music, cocktails and taco, what's not to love?! We got the Beef Barbacoa Taco and Surf & Birria Taco and damn they were good. Two of us got the sunset beach and neither of us were fans. The whiskey point and peachy bottom were very tasty. The guys mixing and taking orders were super friendly and very welcoming.“

Our drinks came out shortly and were so colorful and refreshing! He got the Serrano cucumber margarita and I got the oaky hibiscus sour. The queso fundido was nice and cheesy! The tuna tartare was beautiful as well as light and citrusy. The mole plate was a little burnt though. For dessert, we ordered flan and it had a nice and thick texture. They forgot to bring our esquites, but brought it out after we got dessert LOL.It was a great appetizer! “Prompt and cordial service. Food was quick and flavorful. Waitress was attentive and check on us several times, refilling drinks as needed. The only suggestion I have is for the super torpedo sub to be lightly toasted. The Chula Vista location does it by default, so we didn't think of asking (our bad). Anyway, the sub tastes much better toasted, in my opinion“
