“I’m going to say something that some people may not like, but it needs to be said. I’ve noticed that some immigrants who come to America don’t seem to understand how restaurant ratings work here. There is nothing wrong with being an immigrant—that’s not the point. But if you come to a new country, you should take the time to learn how things work before judging businesses and leaving ridiculous reviews.

I see people write, “The food was good, the restaurant was clean,” and then give ONE STAR because they had a problem with the service. Seriously? If the food was good and the place was clean, how does that make the entire restaurant a one-star experience?

Learn how to rate before you rate. A review should reflect the overall experience, not one complaint. These businesses have employees working hard, and throwing around one- and two-star ratings for every little issue is unfair and makes the entire review system meaningless.

Being new to America is nothing to be ashamed of. But refusing to learn how things work and then judging everything around you? That’s a different story. Wake up, learn the system, and be fair.“
