“So I ate in with my baby. They do have 1 high chair and plenty of seating inside. The lady in front was very friendly. The Cali burrito was huge and the roll tacos were good! The only thing is there was the cook / a man working there was taking his lunch at the same time I was eating. He smelled alot like alcohol and was drunk based on the way he spoke to me. Other than that, food was 9/10. I would go thru drive thru next time.“

“I like this place the portions are hugh, i wished they used better meat for there carne asada. The last burrito i got was a California burrito the meat was like chewing on leather for 17 dollars yes 17 dollars for one burrito you should be able to chew it. Hopefully they step up they're quality of beef and then they will be the best place in town“

“Wow!!! So delicious! This is my new favorite taco shop. I had the California burrito and my husband had the monster burrito. The chips and salsa were so delicious, we ended up buying some extra to take home. This place is definitely a hidden gem.“

“We ate there when it was Marie’s. We always take pennsylvania visitors. They usually come when there’s still snow back East. They love the outside tables. I believe if you gave someone who is unfamiliar with Mexican cuisine this is a good start. I often have them get carnitas if they have had pulled pork and think Mexican food is spicy. The food is excellent. It’s pretty standard Mexican food for the area. The size of the portions are good. You won’t find too much exotic stuff but you won’t be disappointed. The service is top notch and friendly. The usual drinks. Have your visitors try Mexican Coca Cola, or the jaritos. Of course the selection of Mexican and American beers. The owner started working back in the kitchen , learned to cook and wait tables. He and his wife bought the place when the previous owner retired. It is truly the American Dream story.“

“Never thought I'd be driving out to Alpine for a Mexican food fix but here we are. And am I glad we did. Serving size is hefty AND the prices are affordable. Great bang for your buck. They have a self serve tortilla chip, salsa, and condiments station. Their tacos and burritos are all solid.“

“Another little rough diamond of a Mexican eatery. Also has soyrizo veggie meat replacement burritos for vegetarians! It’s pretty barebones, but I requested to have it cooked with habanero sauce. I’m sure you could ask for pico or other additions.Quite clean and cheerful space with seating. Worth a try if you like good food surprises, 4.5 stars out of 5!Vegetarian options: Pretty much only soyrizo but that’s more than most. Fries and the like too.“

“I’m assuming by the reviews it’s the Owner but He is the best most attentive person ever. He was running the register and food and STILL got it done in a timely manner. His portions were great the asada fries were nice and crispy the meat tender. The taco salad was also really good I added lots of salsa Roja and verde ? ? really good“

“Al Pancho's has been my favorite Mexican restaurant since we moved to Alpine. This a cute little place, plenty of seating inside and has an outdoor dining patio. The staff is very friendly and professional and the food is super yummy. They have been in business since we moved to Alpine in 2003 and I'm sure it was here long before us. It feels like a family run restaurant complete with the great service and tasty offerings only a labor of love a family could provide. So, if you're looking to dine at one of many Mexican restaurants we enjoy here in Alpine, this one tops my list, hands down! Our others in the same category are all excellent but this one is MY favorite“

“This is definitely a hidden gem of La mesa. Breakfast burritos are delicious and not greasy. They are so stingy though on hot sauce. Which doesn’t make sense because if you die there, you get access to the entire bottle. But they do not give more than four tiny hot sauces for 1 burrito. One of the tiny hot sauce containers is enough for two bites of a burrito.“

“The alexadilla is a California burrito wrapped in a quesadilla and you can clearly tell it is a quesadilla which I loved. It wasn't overly loaded with just fries. There was a good mix of everything inside. The meat wasn't SUPER flavorful but overall the burrito was good. The red and green hot sauces were both very good and had nice flavor. The girl who took my order was so nice and personable and definitely wanted to make sure you got what you wanted. Inside was very clean and the had seating for to-go orders that wouldn't take up the seating for people trying to eat there. The music was a notch louder than I would prefer but not unbearable. I will definitely go back to try some of the other items on the menu.“

“A lot of places claim to have the best breakfast burritos but Sombreros is the actual champ! They are beyond delicious and beyond consistent, never been disappointed I’m a very picky person about my breakfast burritos but the bacon deluxe from here is my number 1!“

“An excellent place to consume inside or take away. The place has a bathroom, parking, good lighting, comfortable tables to eat, good appearance, the cooks do their work with effort and dedication so that the customer leaves satisfied and eager to return, as well as the cashiers serving The best way. I have been here as a customer, and as an employee too. I have the joy of seeing things from both sides and thus I take the liberty of fully recommending the place. Visit Pronto and see for yourself.“

“Great service and consistency. This is the most reasonably priced taco shop in town. One of my favorites is their fish burrito. Nice white meat fish that's never fishy, cabbage, white sauce and a little pico for 8 bucks. The Machaca is pretty good also.“

“Casual but nice family-style Italian restaurant featuring your typical dishes and some unusual cocktails. What made it a cut above was the attentive but not intrusive service provided by Quinn. We would come back just to be served by him. Maybe it was the Japanese influence that brought a touch of sophistication to his service. Well done, Quinn.“

“This is the best Birria I have every had, including in Mexico. The meat was absolutely well cooked, high quality Beef necks, not chewy or rubbery, the broth was like bone broth. The spice level moderate, and very very tasty I am told the chef has been making Birria for 40 years, and it shows. The tortillas were fresh made that day from a bakery, and had the real authentic corn flavor.... also had the Ramen which was as good as the regular birria, just with ramen! Thanks very much! I cant wait to return for a Torta and Queso Taco.“

“Definitely our favorite Mexican shop in town. We drive past a few others to go here. We usually call it in and expect 20 minutes to be quoted. Which means it is fresh!! Our favorite items Carne asada burrito add sour cream Chips and hot sauce - they make the chips in house!! They are hot and the perfect crunch!! The breakfast burritos are also delish!!!! There is a shop next door called Saritas. The service is not nearly as good. And the red and green salsa there is NO BUENO!!!!! Nothing compared to La posta!! I would say it is a little higher priced than your average taco shop, but the quality makes up for it!!!“

“Discovered Patty's Cafe Today Very clean and inviting! Prices are competitive. Wide variety of menu items. Old fashioned breakfast which we don't have enough of around here. Mexican American, Greek options for lunch and dinner too. Best news! They don't put sausage in their country gravy!!! They will on request though. They do not disappoint. Try it for yourself“

“This new-ish (open less than a year) Roberto's in Santee is located on the edge of our neighborhood. We don't even have to take a major thoroughfare to get to it. We become victims of habit when it comes to our to-go Mexican food. We finally remembered this place. Located in the corner of a 7/11 anchored strip mall on the corner of Cuyamaca and Mast, on a hill. The parking lot can get a bit messy at times. The 7/11 has a gas station which makes the entry/exit a little more difficult. I called to place our order for pick-up. (I'm not going to deduct a star because their website sucks). The girl who I spoke with was pleasant. She said my order would be ready in five minutes. Perfect. It takes two to get there from our house. For Becky it was the Carne Asada Plate with flour tortillas. I chose the Carnitas Plate (no guac) with corn tortillas. I also ordered a Fish Taco for myself. The carne asada was very, very good. Seasoned well and tender. No fatty or gristly chunks. Quality carne asada. Served with very good refried beans and rice. Excellent flour tortillas as well. I loved the carnitas. Lots of big flavorful chunks. Nice and crispy exterior with tender, delicious pork inside. Really good. The corn tortillas were great. The fish taco was fantastic. The perfectly breaded filet filled the doubled-up corn tortillas from end to end. It was nicely dressed with "Baja sauce", pico and cabbage. If you dine in there are a few tables inside and a little 4-seat bar with four tap handles. When I was visited they had Pacifico, Modelo, Sculpin and Coors Light on tap, although no one was manning the bar. I didn't see any pricing, but bottled beers were $3 each. Solid food and super convenient for us. Yep, we're going back.“

“This has a lot of choices, and even have menudo. All the food has been amazing. It is as close to a home cooked meal as you can get without the work. The food always seems to be made fresh for you. This place has become my go-to.. Not much in the atmosphere, but I promise their food makes you forget all about that and appreciate the flavors they pour into each plate. It is tucked away in a gas station plaza and doesn't seem like much, but I truly cannot think of a Mexican restaurant that had this much flavor and love put into each plate. The menudo here is AMAZING!!“

“Bottom Line: a little hole in the wall that worth visiting for the carne asada alone. With tons of options for burritos, tacos, and more, with great prices and prompt service, it's a fantastic combo of Mexican grocery, carnecería, and restaurant. The Good: great quality meats (you can even buy and cook at home yourself) and fresh ingredients the whole way. There are also lots of other choices to add to your order (stinks, sauces, etc) since it's connected to a small grocery. The Bad: nothing I can think of that would make me stop going. Some may think it's out of the way, but it's well worth a visit when you come to Jamul.“
