They had split and not split crab legs which tasted very fresh. The shrimp were jumbo size and very good. They also had an omelette station. Not much sides though, they needed more variety. The little roasted potatoes were good but no sour cream, bacon or cheese to cover them with. Only 1 type of bread was offered. The desserts were not very good. They offered a bread pudding that was dry and they didn't offer any cream glaze to go on top, some little mini muffins and pastries that were all dry. However you can ask the waitress for an ice cream sundae. That was very good. Also they have very good coffee. All the staff were very nice and was always checking to see if we needed anything. Great service. We would definitely go again. The lobster, crab and prime rib make it all worth while!“

Portions are decent and the quality is also decent. “I recently visited a new restaurant and was impressed with the excellent service provided by the attentive staff. They had an extensive menu with a lot of food options that I wasn't familiar with. After some consideration, I decided to try the beef noodle soup and JCK pork dumplings, and I was delighted to find that they were delicious. I am definitely planning to return to this restaurant in the future.“

I ordered Chicken Larp , papaya salad (both were medium heat like a 6) & a side of sticky rice ( only complaint is that I wish the side of sticky rice was a bit more than what they serve you.) but then again I’m a rice baby so there’s that too! The portion side of Larp is soo big you can literally share it with 3 ppl easily. My husband ordered the crab fried rice and he enjoyed it. I really loved the drinks we ordered they were pretty yummy definitely enjoyed the boba pearls. I will definitely come back to check out their curry next time. Customer service was wonderful. I also love the atmosphere of the restaurant all the cultural attributes & we went around Easter time so they had such cute Easter decor up as well it’s nice and intimate especially around dinner time. They have 2 other locations, 1 in El cajon off of Greenfield and the other in Santee. If you haven't tried Janet's in Alpine, I highly recommend it or the Santee location. Both have a great feel to them, great food, and are spacious.“

Price was also reasonable. I believe if you gave someone who is unfamiliar with Mexican cuisine this is a good start. I often have them get carnitas if they have had pulled pork and think Mexican food is spicy. The food is excellent. It’s pretty standard Mexican food for the area. The size of the portions are good. You won’t find too much exotic stuff but you won’t be disappointed.
