We've got Lakeside's top Mexican restaurants covered for you.
“Best Mexican food in Lakeside! Been coming here for years and the consistency is phenomenal. The salsa is so good, the wet carne asada burrito is incredible, and the service here has always been top notch. Good cozy and homey atmosphere as well. A place I never fail to recommend if someone is looking for great Mexican food!“
“The alexadilla is a California burrito wrapped in a quesadilla and you can clearly tell it is a quesadilla which I loved. It wasn't overly loaded with just fries. There was a good mix of everything inside. The meat wasn't SUPER flavorful but overall the burrito was good. The red and green hot sauces were both very good and had nice flavor. The girl who took my order was so nice and personable and definitely wanted to make sure you got what you wanted. Inside was very clean and the had seating for to-go orders that wouldn't take up the seating for people trying to eat there. The music was a notch louder than I would prefer but not unbearable. I will definitely go back to try some of the other items on the menu.“
“This is a CASH ONLY place. Their food is wonderful, especially their fish tacos. Their Chile Verde left a lot to be desired. The meat was dry. It looked like they used the carnitas deep fried meat instead of the soft pieces, cooked in the sauce like it should be. The place could use better furniture, more comfortable seats, etc. We were glad, however, that they have a handicapped area, with electric outlets for charging phones, etc. They also have a relatively clean bathroom. The sink is not very clean, though. They don't smile a lot, but they're polite.Wheelchair accessibility: There's handicapped parking & it's easy to roll in & out. Also, if you dine in, they bring your food to your table & pick up your trash & tray when you're done.“
“Best hidden gem in Lakeside (or wherever it is)!!! This little truck has the very best grilled shrimp burritos and fish tacos EVER. We have lived in East County for over 25 years and sampled every grilled shrimp burrito and fish taco in a 15 mile radius. Promise- you will not be disappointed. We just had a party of 20 people who mostly just ordered the grilled shrimp burrito (ordered the day before) and they all loved it. It's a big burrito, so we always cut it in half and eat the other half for lunch.... And it's good COLD like a sandwich the next day. Sounds weird but it's literally just as good cold. We also got about 4 shrimp ceviche to share around. That’s good too. Oh and don't forget the chipotle mayo and green sauce! It is our Friday night regular stop on the way home after a busy week.Ambiance is just a parking lot but the little Hispanic market there also has the best no-name brand tortillla chips and fresh tortillas. So we shop while we wait for our food. So that's why we also line the ambiance!“
“So I ate in with my baby. They do have 1 high chair and plenty of seating inside. The lady in front was very friendly. The Cali burrito was huge and the roll tacos were good! The only thing is there was the cook / a man working there was taking his lunch at the same time I was eating. He smelled alot like alcohol and was drunk based on the way he spoke to me. Other than that, food was 9/10. I would go thru drive thru next time.“
