I opted for the Ube Mochi flavor and the pistachio. The ube was very flavorful, and I did enjoy the mochi bits. For mochi being in a cold dessert, it was surprisingly still really soft! classic flavor, but I've never seen it be done gelato style so this was good! “This place has some seriously legit ice cream. It has the texture of soft serve but all the punch of real top notch ice cream. It's smooth, creamy, and very flavorful. I absolute loved the Rice Krispie and fruity pebbles cones--they add the perfect extra punch and crunch to the ice cream. The store is quite small, but the line moves quickly and there is some seating outside. You can get a regular cone, a cup, or a Rice Krispie, fruity pebbles, or cocoa pebbles cone. They also serve a caramelized waffle you can use to scoop your ice cream if you like. Overall I really, really enjoyed this spot. It's some of the best ice cream I've had in a long time. Definitely recommend this while in Los Angeles--it's even worth a drive across the city.“

“Amazing ice cream with tons of different flavors, handmade everyday. The milkshakes, malts, banana splits, and etc., are just as amazing. The price is just right for premium handmade ice cream. You can even get a pint or a quart of your favorite ice cream(s) to go if you really want. The only downside is that there is no indoors, you order your food through window openings at the counter, while standing outside. But it makes sense, since there really isn't enough room for an indoor section. It's not a big deal though, as once you get your ice cream you can jump back in your car and finish it at home.“

“Finally got the chance to try this dessert place after always passing by. I got the pure milk soft serve and 3 pieces of taiyaki in custard and red bean. The soft serve is a nice texture and it's very soft. The milk is a bit too sweet, in my opinion. And you can self serve on several toppings for the soft serve. The taiyaki is very good, just wish that it is a bit more crispy. They give a generous amount of filling inside the taiyaki. Inside is a small place. They only have a bench and a couple of stools. Overall, a great dessert place!“

“Anytime I visit LA Somi Somi is on the top of my list of places to go! The taiyaki waffle cone is made fresh and you get your choice of filling such as red bean, Nutella, or even cheddar! I always go for a Nutella filling which always pairs well with all of the flavored soft serve offerings. Once you pick your filling and soft serve you get to add some tasty toppings and your choice of a fresh cut strawberry or a mini macaroon. Our cashier/server, Cindy, was amazingly helpful and friendly in recommending their best sellers so we opted for the Nutella-filled churros and just a plain soft serve to pair with it. The churros were made so fresh it was crisp and soft (not to mention so much thicker than I expected them to be) that pocketed the right amount of filling as it didn't make a big mess when taking a bite. The soft serve was just as good when Cindy handed it over, it was swirled pretty high and tall (not pictured as I immediately dug into that one). The ambiance of this place was friendly and moderate, I want to thank Cindy for making the rest of our night great with her service. I would recommend saving this spot for late night sweets!“

“This gem serves great ice cream! It may be called soft serve and may be served from machines but it is excellent tasting ice cream. The elicits are clean, fresh and offer something to everyone even if you have dietary restrictions. The store is clean, welcoming and free samples can be beat. Maybe I was the only one who didn't know the squiggly line next to the flavors meant they can be swirled together....duh; still learning! We opted to share 2 flavors, that weren't swirlable we got malted milk chocolate and let lime. Chocolate was perfect and key lime was creamy and tart. I loved that even in 80 degrees or ice cream didn't melt into a puddle; therefore making the experience great! We weren't forced to eat faster because of the temperature!! I recommend this shop! Being Dia de los Muertos/Halloween season, Nomad Ice Pops had some popsicles shaped like skulls. After perusing the menu, horchata stood out & compelled a purchase.Horchata ($3.50)-Sabroso! Horchata was one of my favorite drinks, when I didn't care about sugar, calories, good health, diabetes. Heck, I remember I bought a large horchata from a former Albertaco's in Hawaiian Gardens, only to come back in a hour or so & buy another one. For shame! Anyhoo, Nomad Ice Pops' dairy-free horchata popsicle had all the taste & flavors of horchata that I remembered. It was frozen solid, meaning it didn't melt at all on a high 80's day. I ate the whole popsicle one bite at a time, which made things less messy.Service was good. Nomad Ice Pops operates as a takeout window.
