“This is my favorite Thai place around. The owner is so sweet. They always go out of their way to treat me and my family so well. They remember my kids' names and knew we were celebrating and gave us Thai ice cream on the house. It's that kind of family place. The food is always delicious! Great service,Great food! This is the place. It's always female owned so if you want to support a young woman and her dreams - eat here often and tip well. You will be happy you did.“

“We enjoyed the Braised Wagyu Beef and the Pumpkin Curry - both were over the top. Served by the owner, Angie, who is delightful and hard working. We used to go to the previous restaurant in that building, House of Thai, and very happy to share that Bungalow on Rose is even better! Highly recommend.“

“Our first time here and a great experience! Food was fabulous and very nice environment and friendly staff! Food tasted very fresh, especially the noodles! Surprised it wasn’t that busy on a Saturday lunch time, but hopefully the word of the mouth gets around fast and more people get to experience this place. Good luck!“

“This place should be packed! I hope you give this place a try today because the food is high quality and full of flavor. I wasn't sure about this place at first because they don't have a lot of reviews and weren't really busy, but you can tell by the photos the food is good—that's what finally made my wife decide to check it out and we're really glad we did! We went last night with another family and we liked it so much that we came back tonight to try their other dishes. There are many restaurants in Alameda with mediocre food that are crowded, but this place should be overflowing with customers and I want to draw some attention to this gem. This is a wonderful restaurant with delicious food, so please give it a try!PS. They no longer serve sushi and are focused on Lao food and Southeast Asian food, which luckily for us is fantastic!“

“The food was made Northern home-made style. It doesn't deviate so the menu is predictable but the quality was excellent and better than most in this area. Service is spectacular... I'm a child of a restaurant owner with high expectations! Crab fried rice had chunks of crab vs minced pieces. Salmon curry was full of crunchy vegetables and served 2. Fresh rolls, Thom Yum soup and calamari were all worth ordering.“

“Love this place! They have the sweetest staff/owner and serve really great food. They keep it simple and grounded, which is opposite of Asian cuisine in Walnut Creek. Sometimes, you just want that cozy home cooked feel. Can't say enough great things.“

When I do choose to eat in, I've always enjoyed the atmosphere that seems to accommodate all types. And I don't have any complaints about the food, as I've either cleaned my plate or been really happy with the leftovers I get to have the next day.Kid-friendliness: Very kid friendly appetizers for growing eatersWheelchair accessibility: Ground floor, ramps from parking lot, did not check out bathroom for accessibility“

“A restaurant that proves two theories true: that Laotian cuisine is one of the world’s best, and that the tastiest food is almost never the prettiest. A meal to remember many moons from now, for $23.50. Order any of the Lao specialties from the menu’s first page.“

“So delicious!!! My family loves thai food, and while this place may not look big or bustling on the outside, it is amazing. The indoor dining area is quant and small, so there may only be around 5 tables available. We were seated quickly, and the waiters were very kind. The food was absolutely wonderful. We are big fried rice lovers, and it did not disappoint. 100% worth a visit.“

“We ordered several items, pad Thai, pad see eew and papaya salad. All the items were delicious. The papaya salad was authentic as they come. This establishment has been around for decades and for good reasons. The service is super friendly. This is definitely a place for friends and families. It is also clean and spacious. There are street parking and also a parking lot in the back. In addition to the food, we also ordered the Thai ice tea and the ice coffee. They were also very delicious. Overall, we highly recommend giving this restaurant a try!“

The noodles were perfectly cooked, and the balance of sweet, sour, and savory elements was spot on. Portion size was generous, ensuring satisfaction with every bite. A sense of authentic Thai cuisine and culture right down to the seasoning and herbal tea leaves.Vegetarian options: A few vegetarian options.Wheelchair accessibility: Door seems wide enough. No stairs. Some tables accessible from the doorway. It is a relatively small restaurant.“

“Our dining experience at Bangkok Garden last evening was nothing short of delightful. From the moment we stepped through the door, we were greeted by the warm smiles of the staff. They promptly escorted us to our table, where our orders were taken and served with remarkable efficiency. Accompanied by our two young children, who were exceptionally well-catered to, we indulged in a variety of dishes. The grilled chicken satay and the fresh spring rolls were the stars of the evening. It's certain that we will be returning for another memorable meal. Bangkok Garden comes highly recommended!“

“On this cold atmospheric rainy day, I'm glad I scored a parking spot right outside otherwise I might given up on trying this place. I'm glad the parking gods were with me today. It gave me the chance to try their Thai beef boat noodle soup. Omg it was perfect. The broth was a flavorful deep sweet soy sauce based broth with earthy spice undertones. The thinly sliced beef was tender. The noodles were al dente with a nice chew. Perfection in a bite. They had cute condiments but I didn't need to use anything. It was super tasty as it is. Anytime I'm in Alameda I'll definitely stop by for some great Thai food. A cute sweet Thai family runs this place.“

“This is my go-to for Thai. Regardless of what youre looking for the flavors here are near perfect. The restaurant is clean and the service is always great, fast and friendly. The selections on the menu are wide and everything is fresh and adequately seasoned. If you like your food on the spicy side dont forget to ask for their spice caddy to bring all the flavors together for the full experience. Recommended dishes would of course start with their shrimp fresh rolls, the lemongrass or ginger chicken, any of their curries, the pad eggplant if youre trying to be good and definitely try the duck or the crispy trout if youre not. Would I return? Any chance i get.“

“I love to take out of town visitors to Champa Garden. A trip here is a trip off the beaten path, away from the trendy parts of town, a trip to East Oakland, out of a lot of people's comfort zones. What kind of cuisine is it?? Is it Thai? Is it Lao? Is it Tai Lue? It's all of the above -- a cultural hodgepodge, hard to pigeonhole like the City itself. To further extend the metaphor, like Oakland, the flavors of Champa Garden are funky & fresh! The tables are covered in condiments inviting you to further customize these mashed up dishes. I haven't had anything I didn't like here. But don't miss the rice ball salad, or the Lao sausage. My son swears by their fried rice. Come take a trip to the avenues, be patient if you arrive at 7pm, over order (it's not expensive), and bring a few friends.“

“We've been thinking about trying this restaurant for some time now, and I'm very glad we did. Our past Thai favorite, Champa Garden, seems to have gone downhill. Charm Thai Bistro, our new favorite, is much closer. We split an appetizer, the puff pastry turnovers, which we never had in Thailand. The waiter told us that they were street food. Whatever, they're delicious. Then we had a Pad Thai (very good) and a green curry. I thought it was perfect, but it was a little spicy for my husband, so if you prefer a milder spiced dish, tell the waiter. I can't wait to try their other curries and house specialties. I might even try the Black Sticky Rice Mango pudding, even though after having it in Thailand, it's always something of a disappointment in the U.S.“

“I ordered a chicken pad kea mao (drunken noodles) and it was really good although… they gave me pork instead of chicken. And I didn’t know about that until they came over to the table with the plate that had chicken. Thankfully I am able to eat pork but… be careful if you are not— ask twice to make sure you get the right dish. Otherwise, they were very accommodating to our very large group.“

“How often do you go to a restaurant and love everything you order? You know me, not often. The food here was outstanding, so let's get to it. The roti was so good we had to each order our own. Mango Duck: I was super hesitant when it read "cripsy" and had low expectations, but man it was crispy and so was the basil and it was great with the red curry. Delicious if you like duck! Spicy basil: Great green beans and tasty dish. Crab Fried Rice: I read all the great reviews about this, and though, you know me, I'm not a fried rice person, I decided to take the plunge. This crab rice was fluffy and the egg mixed in with the crab was fresh and flavorful and not at all fishy. The side chili sauce had a kick to it. Mango Sticky Rice: Sweet mangos that really hit the spot, and a large portion of warm sticky rice. This dessert was enough for share. Service was average, and it was empty during lunch, but the food here is a winner. My coworker was even talking about future Doordash orders!“

“I walked into a nice restaurant decorated in with Thai art, classy cocktail music, and a smiling white with a ponytail. He asked me what I wanted for a drink, so I asked for my favorite drink, Thai ice coffee. The delicious iced coffee came very quickly in a canning jar with handles. My order of three lunch specials was cooked and served very quickly. For most people, ordering one lunch special is enough, but I wanted to try their food in a big way. Only then can you experience the chef's cuisine. Also, I'm babysitting a cat here in Orinda for nine days, so I haven't wanted to cook if i can order enough to eat delicious leftovers. What a pleasant surprise, the food, atmosphere, and the three dishes, were quite fresh and delicious. The Pad Thai, which I ordered with chicken, was very nice, I had delicately seasoned noodles, shredded carrots, shredded cabbage, green onions, fried tofu, fried eggs, bean sprouts, and finely chopped peanuts. For an extra $2, you can get the egg roll and salad, but I already had those with the two other lunch specials. The #6 Peanut Prawns, which were deep fried in a light batter, came with peanut curry sauce over a bed of spinach in a bowl, served with slices of orange, a crunchy Noodle salad, rice and a fried vegetarian Thai egg roll. Delicious! The prawns were a decent size, and quite tasty. My last dish was #12, Garlic Pepper Calamari, with onions, zucchini, mushrooms, green onions, fried noodles, were served with the sliced oranges, plus a noodles salad with carrots, cucumber, red cabbage, and shredded iceberg lettuce, deep fried noodles, were crunchy and fresh with a light dressing. Overall, the food was quite superb, my mom lived in Bangkok for fourteen years, so I know how to appreciate Thai food. I will definitely come here again if I'm visiting the area again.“

“I had eaten at this restaurant several years ago when I was in town to see family. It was a memorable experience then, so I was very happy to get together with my family and friends for dinner. We ordered some Lady Fingers and Calamari for appetizers, followed by Tom Yum Soup. For our main dishes we had the Crab Fried Rice, Pad Thai, Pumpkin Curry (chicken), Pad Prik King (pork), and Sizzling Seafood Platter. The food was amazing and we inhaled everything. It was fresh and moderately spicy, just how I like it.For dessert, we shared a couple of Mango with Sticky Rice. A perfect finish to our meal.I was so glad it was as I remembered from years ago.“

“We came for lunch this week. The side entrance has a small lobby that sets you in the mood for some Thai food. My friend and I ordered from the lunch special menu and we were both happy we did. Serving was generous, nice presentation and everything tasted good! The lunch special comes with mildly sweet, and a bit sour coconut soup with lots of flavor from Thailand. It was really good. I could consume a big bowl of that soup and more. It's that good. The big plate came with salad, fried rice, and two choices from the lunch menu. I got the red chicken curry paired with fried prawns. The red curry was creamy, the thick broth was bursting in flavors of curry and coconut milk, the chicken was tender and flavorful, while the 3 pieces of fried coated prawns came with some vegetable tempura. They were oh so good and crunchy. Best dipped in the sauce provided. There was also a small round plate of pickled cucumber that was mildly sweet, a tad spicy and sour! Yum! My friend had the pork bbq and egg rolls. She said they were delicious! We had enough leftovers for dinner. We shall be back! .“

“Nice, located of Willow shopping center. Several eateries nearby including a drive in Starbucks. I looked around and decided to go for the Won Thai restaurant, ordered the lunch special, fried catfish with rice, on the plate I got a colorful plate with a scoop of steam rice next to pan fried filet of catfish with plenty of green beans, fresh tomato pieces, sautéed on a lite curry sauce and sliced purple and green cabbage garnish.“

“On my way home from church, I searched Yelp for Thai restaurants in the area. Yelp gps took me to this place and I'm glad to have found it. I was pleasantly surprised they offer lunch special on weekends - it was the best choice for me as I was dining alone. I got the lunch special plate of grilled chicken with peanut sauce over brown rice, veggies and salad. Such a generous delicious serving. I would have preferred the peanut sauce served on the side but I failed to ask. The tangy & sweet salad compliments the chicken with peanut sauce very well. Their Thai iced tea wasn't too sweet which is perfect. I got the fried banana with coconut ice cream for dessert. Bananas rolled in brown sugar served with a bit of honey. So crunchy! Perfect dessert for me as I love fried bananas! Ice cream was so creamy. Take note coconut ice cream doesn't have a strong taste, it's a bit bland if you're used to American ice cream. Serving is good for 2 or 3 people. The place is divided into two sections. It's nice and clean inside. Service is prompt and friendly. Very warm Asian ladies providing service with a smile. I'll be back!“

“This was our 3rd visit and it was excellent. Our prior visits were 1 excellent and the 2nd, just OK. We decided to give Chao Thai another try and we're still talking about the Tum Kak Gai that was exceptional. Our only disappointment (minor) was I ordered the chef's seafood special but received a chicken & green bean dish that, while unexpected, was great. Next time I'll order by number to avoid confusion. In case you're wondering the guest check was accurate for the food delivered. We'll be back“

“Dropped in last night for a late dinner, 8:30 PM. I ordered a chicken dish off a new menu and it was the single best meal I have had in some time.
