“I like my reviews to be as comprehensive as possible, so let me begin with food. I had the New York and the wife had the Wagu flat iron. We got a potato and the mac&cheese as sides. We also started with a Caesar salad and a cocktail. The steaks were phenomenal. So tender and succulent. Cooked to our I dividual temps perfectly. They were not heavily seasoned, so the steak flavor was light, but the truffle butter, mushroom and onion that accompanied were enough to satisfy flavor components. The potato was salted on the outside and baked then topped with bacon and creme fraiche foam. Very good, but the potato was a potato and only so much can be done. The mac&cheese, however is now in my top 2 mac&cheese ever. I am not joking. I love this so much I would come in just for it. And this place is not easy to park at. We had 2 desserts because it was our anniversary and the chef gave us a cheesecake with raspberry jam that was, okay. It was very sweet. Nothing special other than it was a gift. And we appreciate that! The other was the blueberry soufflé. Oh my. It was served with a coconut gelato on top and all I have to say is that I was so stuffed from the dinner but we managed to eat that whole soufflé. It. Was. Ridiculous. Hats off to the chef! The waiter, Dimitri, was fantastic. He earned every bit of the gratuity we left for him. He was attentive. He listened. He joked around with us. He was very charming and pleasant which is what we like in a server. He did not bug us too many times during dinner but let us enjoy ourselves. He did not push anything on us, but, like I said, listened to what we wanted and did it with a smile. Finally, the ambience. It's a steakhouse, sure, but it's a NICE steakhouse, which is why we were a little disappointed that we were sat outside. It was enclosed and the street traffic wasn't too bad, but we would have preferred inside. All in all, we highly recommend this place. It is pricey, but in my mind, very much worth it.“

And the avocado being added was expensive... the price for avocado should be labeled on the menu since it is more than a couple of dollars. The quaint atmosphere is like from the show "Cheers" feels very homey cozy and like everyone knows your name. The owner suggested a bottle noir. I've never had a noir that smooth...and without a hang over the next day. And then the food is off the charts. I literally ate till my stomach was going to explode. I just couldn't stand leave even 1 slice of the gluten free mushroom pizza. It's didn't even taste gluten free. How do they do that ??“

“I love to go to Active Culture every time I’m in the Newport area. They have very original healthy options like the LB bowl and the Chocolate Bliss shake. The yogurt and açaí bowls are so good too. I like to get an LB bowl to go because the brown rice, apples, dates, prosciutto and cheese hold up well while traveling and I can eat it anytime I get hungry. Close to the ocean and sitting outside on a nice day is heavenly.“

On this recent time, I ordered a variety of 20 tacos online (to-go) and they were ready in less than half an hour which is very impressive since the ingredients are so fresh. The sushi rolls were surprisingly big compared to the sushi rolls at other sushi restaurants, which explains why the rolls were around $20. Food is very high-quality and I would recommend this place for a nice meal. Service was friendly and helpful. There is seating both inside and outside, and both give a view to the ocean. You can also sit by the sushi bar.“

“There aren’t words to describe how amazing the food is at this place. Best Mexican food I’ve ever had hands down. I loved Laguna Beach, and would like to return some day. But I loved The Taco Stand more, and WILL return to Laguna Beach again for another amazing burrito. And make sure you try their habanero sauce. It’s not too hot, but hot enough, and very favorable. “Let me tell you about these people. First, the burger and fries made me eat my words about California burgers (I’m from Texas). I was talking mad sh@!, but that burger…double patties gift from the Gods. It’s got a kick to it. I’d rate about medium heat. I loved it. The fries were crispy perfection with just the right amount of seasoning. As good as all of that was, the kindest, most thoughtful staff was better than all that. “I was in the area with family walking along the beach trail and craved an acai bowl. One quick search on yelp and Jan's Health Bar was just a 5-minute walk from where we were. We got 3 Jan's Acai Bowls to share between the 6 of us and an avocado toast. At first I was a little shocked at the price for one bowl, but then when it came out I was like o i get it. It's quite a hefty bowl, so definitely perfect to share with another person! The avocado toast was small but so beautiful lol the way they lay out the little slices of avocado!!! Kind of funny and cute :) Overall good experience here. Food was very fresh and healthy. If you eat there, they give you a number and the staff will bring your order to your table. Bathroom is clean. I am only dinging them a star because of their 3 choices for acai bowls, 2 of them had protein powder, which I don't want to consume so I had no choice but to get the first choice (Jan's Acai Bowl) which is fine but like another choice or two would have been nice...without the protein powder anyway. “Great little empanada shop near the beach in the heart of Laguna Beach. I first tried their empanadas at The Taste of Laguna but perhaps the flavor they served didn't wow me. I had a craving for empanadas recently and decided to give them another try and sample a variety of their different flavors to see which ones I liked the most. After trying the Beef & Potato, Chicken & Mushroom, Chicken Pot Pie, Spinach, and Spicy Pork, my absolute favorites are definitely 1. Beef & Potato (authentic empanada flavor) 2. Chicken & Mushroom (cheesy and savory) 3. Chicken Pot Pie (literally a delicious chicken pot pie filling wrapped in empanada dough). Those three were packed with delicious flavor and completely satisfied my empanada craving. I love that the baked and not fried empanadas come out piping hot from the oven and the free chimichurri sauce also makes the empanadas even tastier and we happily load it onto our food. Just remember to ask for a small spoon to scoop the sauce on to the empanadas. I've also tried great fried empanadas near LA but I love how these baked empanadas still taste delicious but aren't as heavy and greasy as the fried kind. I've also tried their gelato and my favorite flavor is the strawberry cheesecake.“
