“EXCELLENT Chicken Soup. When places say "Best...whatever " one is always like...okay...yeah sure buddy...you know. In my humble opinion Don Pollo hits the mark with the chicken soup. Absolutely Delicious. The broth is so clean and bright, vegetables are not overcooked. The squash and carrots have a crunch and bite to them. The rice sitting at the bottom of the bowl is the right accent to it. The jalapeño gives it the right heat, to bring everything together. I wanted more, but my belly full. Just the perfect bowl of chicken soup. Moving on to the tacos, overflowing with meat and guacamole. Don Pollo hits the mark again. You get your money's worth every time. Been here now a few times, and EVERY TIME i am SATISFIED. GREAT SPOT. EXCELLENT SERVICE. THANK YOU DON POLLO.“
“Hidden off the road, next to a liquor store. Some tables inside and a few picnic style tables outside. Burritos are BIG and tasty. The salsa bar has a great selection of mild, chunky and hot salsa. And don't forget the carrots, they are spiced perfectly and not overly hot. Service is decent and the food is made fresh to order. Come hungry.“
“I left my phone upstairs and truly couldn’t set my spoon down once I started enjoying the Menudo. So, no photo for this meal and I had it as a takeout item from my parents who dined in. They commented that the service and ambiance were good! What I can attest to: Their menudo is one of my new favorites (top 3 best) menudos I’ve had…and that includes home-cooked, authentic menudo I’ve had throughout the years at family gatherings. The broth was seasoned well with just a little spice, and the tripe was very fresh (texture was meaty and tender, not chewy) and accompanied by the classic garnishes: cilantro, fresh onion, half a lime. All garnishes were high quality.I had some spicy carrots which tasted very fresh as well, and my dad brought home some of their SPICY chíli de árbol salsa (not for the faint of heart this is hot!!!) which I only tasted to ensure I’d survive the rest of the day ??Flour tortillas were good, nothing special but also weren’t doughy and gross.Overall, I am definitely impressed by Lienzo Charro’s Menudo, from the to-go packaging, to the homemade flavor, I am excited to dine in next time we want Mexican food.“
“Best place for flautas and chimichangas in poway by far, but they also have many other amazing dishes like their omelets and tacos.Love this place in general, portions r great for the price and in a place like san diego where u can find 5 mexican restaurants on the same block that means a lot.Hot carrots r a lil extra but r always the perfect crispyness and even the beans and rice on the side r good instead of crappy and dried out.The only real downfall is there is no dashing here. Besides that, it is the best Mexican food in poway!“
“When I walk in and being welcomed in, that, brings a smile on my face! Everyone is friendly and eager to serve with a smile. Almeida is a jewel! I mainly go in for a drink after finishing a walk and sometimes I will have a salad. Food is good. And the bell Almeida put up is an added bonus.“
“Okay, today was my third visit here and I think I have enough data to confidently give this restaurant five stars. I had given up completely on San Diego Mexican food and started buying my own carne asada, cados, cilantro, etc. and cooking it all myself at home. I will make an exception for this restaurant and I'm going to start getting burritos here. I got their ridiculously huge breakfast burrito a few weeks ago and it was exceptionally fresh and well made. I ate half and my wife had the other half. I came in yesterday and got their California burrito, and it was exceptionally fresh, tasty, and well made. So I was out getting groceries and dropped in there again a while ago to try another breakfast burrito. Am now almost finished eating a steak and bacon breakfast burrito and every single bite is delicious, fresh, well made. That tells me that this place makes excellence a habit and my first couple impressions were not just by chance or dumb luck. The prices are very sane and reasonable too! And I'm very happy to have a place where I can get great burritos again! I hope this place never changes and that I can continue eating here forever. A sincere thank you to the owner and all the employees here for doing an awesome job! I love it when a place allows me to write a great review like this too. A third great burrito in a row made my morning a little brighter and happier.“
“Their carne asada fries and hot sauces, both red and green, are the best in town. I drive from 40 mins away for it. Horchata is great also, not from a fountain. Only problem is they don’t have outside seating and only sometimes have a tent to block the sun/rain over the outside tables.“
“Unassuming taco shop a bit hidden. It almost looks closed when you drive by. The drive through is actually easy to access. They have a white board with special listed and a regular menu board.Ordered a bacon, ham, potato, egg and cheese burrito. Super easy to order and the speaker was crystal clear. Super friendly and fast. Waited less than 5 minutes at the window and the burrito was pipping hot. Good flavored, maybe a little too much ham? but is that really a problem? Asked for green salsa-it wasn't overly spicy. Best of all, good value for the money. Gone are the days of a 5 dollar burrito but I'm excited when I pay less than 10.00.Advice: stop and give this place a try for a solid breakfast burrito.“
“Got their ham breakfast burrito with added rice. Big burrito for under $10. Love the burrito's tortilla texture! Very similar to cotixan. Their hot salsa is good. The mild salsa was too watery :( My husband loves this spot. I wasn't sure based on the yelp reviews but now I'll be a repeat customer.“
“If you consider yourself a taco shop/mexican food aficionado, then you MUST give this place a try. They marinate the carne instead of just pouring garlic and onion salt on it. The portions are very good and the menu has so much to choose from. It doesn't stop there. ...The salsa bar is great with authentic and flavorful choices, along with pickled and fresh peppers, and plenty of hand cut hot carrots. And yes, they make their own beans! It's a great spot to eat inside at a booth or outside on the patio. Support the good spots! This is one of them.“
“I met a friend for lunch at her suggestion that we try Tio Leo's. They have a very reasonable lunch menu for $15. Also, there is a 4% routine discount when paying with cash! The food was very good, the quacamole was creamy, the chips were thin & crispy, the salsa was spicy (much to my liking), and the service was exemplary!Muchas Gracias, Tio Lio's! ?✅️“
“The first time I was there earlier This week it was awesome, salsa bar, grilled peppers etc. food delicious delicious. The second time or Sunday to be exact not so much, well the food still delicious, but I was bragging about the salsa bar and the grilled peppers to the people I took for lunch, it was disappointing to me because it was not what I advertised to my friends. Salsa bar practically empty, no grilled peppers it all. But I kinda understand. I imagine they don't have a lot of people Sundays, they don't want wasted product. So if you want to experience the good part. My guess is ,go Mon to Friday. Preferably before 2pm . They do open early so you can stop for breakfast.“
“The fish tacos are incredible and are inexpensive. This is a little restaurant near DMV and Wal-Mart in Poway, their food is like a mixture if Mexican and Chinese and it is awesome. Staff are nice. And if you sit by the bar you can use crayons and draw and doodle on the paper, it's great for kids.“
