LULU Restaurant LA Reviews
When a restaurant takes their bread and simple salads seriously you know the rest of the meal will be excellent. That is this restaurant. Everything was excellent: freshness, flavors, choice of items on menu. The menu is small, but that just means each item has their full attention.
This is a special venue inside the courtyard of the Hammer Museum away from the busy traffic and construction noise surrounding the location. The food takes advantage of fresh from the farm in its seasonal selections. The gem lettuce salad served with green goddess dressing and beets is this summer's best offering - simply delicious. Lulu's fresh baked bread with butter made a perfect lunch. A delightful way to spend the day following a presentation by the Grunwald Center.
First time diners at Lulu but as a native of Los Angeles, I have eaten in just about every part of the city. The prefixed menu on Aigust 12 was by far one of thd most memorable meals ever. Perfectly executed. The flavors were perfectly blended, monfish cooked to perfection and dessert light but robust. TY staff, chef and Alice Waters!!!

Lulu, located in the Hammer Museum, offers exceptional food, service, and atmosphere. The restaurant is known for its use of local, sustainable ingredients and careful preparation. The menu changes daily, showcasing creativity with a variety of options, including a fixed prix menu with three courses or an a la carte selection. The courtyard setting is quiet yet festive, enhanced by stringed lighting and the sounds of conversation. Standout dishes include the Baja scallop ceviche and the scallops with polenta and brown butter, both offering delicious combinations of flavors and textures. Diners can expect perfectly cooked dishes, making Lulu a great choice for a special meal or a casual bite to eat. The service is perfect, and the wine list features a nice variety of price points and options.
