“I love Pine & Crane! Seriously amazing Taiwanese food. The restaurant is stylish, modern and clean while the food is very authentic and completely delicious. My kids were surprised at how tasty everything was. Healthy too! We will def be back often!!!! If they have it, the lotus root salad is a must! 3 cup chicken is amazing, wontons, etc… I want to try the wood ear mushrooms next!!!“
“Simply amazing fusion good influenced w Taiwan local food taste (taiwan arguably has best street food :).. ). Amazing presentation and tastes that remind me of various well known dishes in taiwan. We added 2 extra dishes on top of the 9-course meal…. Simply amazing experience.“
“Totally worth the 70 minute drive. Delicious food and great Taiwanese hospitality. Friendly, attentive staff and wonderful atmosphere. Minced Pork (Lu-Rou) Rice, fully loaded delicious stewed pork with egg. Meats are juicy and tender, kinda on the sweet side. Clamshell bun (Gua Bao) comes with tender thick cut pork, a bit on the salty side, but very well cooked. Fatty but not greasy. Thousand layer pancake with egg and basil was crispy and flaky. The basil flavor is a wonderful addition. Scallion bread sandwich was what we expected. Same tender thick cut pork, very happy to eat this. Next time I will probably get the beef, too much pork belly today Wonton soup is very classic, if you like shrimp wontons, you have to try this. We ended the meal with Hakka mochi and Oolong tea, the mochi tasted just like the ones in Taiwan. The tea was fragrant and is just the perfect compliment to the mochi. Overall an amazing meal with warm and friendly people, highly recommend!“

“We had such a phenomenal experience with Katarina at the bar… Katarina is an incredibly talented and thoughtful bartender. The drinks and the food were delicious and came out quick, and vegan friendly. We loved Katarina’s energy.Vegetarian options: Plenty of veggie optionsDietary restrictions: I am vegan and had plenty of options.“
“I sampled their famous xiao long bao, delicious dumplings, savory fried rice and garlic string beans. Each dish was a taste experience, from the delicious dumplings in broth to the perfectly seasoned fried rice. The service is great and the atmosphere is inviting. Don't miss this place for authentic Taiwanese cuisine and unforgettable flavors. It has the taste of home.“
“Decided to pop in for dinner this past Friday night. Place was busy, so we sat at the bar. Only one server was holding down the entire front of the house, Michelle, and she was an absolute superstar! As busy and crazy as it was, she held it down and kept a positive upbeat attitude. Food was served hot and was absolutely flavorful and delicious. I wouldn’t think twice about recommending this location, we felt very welcome and taken care of and there are so many more things I want to try from the menu. And thanks to Michelle again for a wonderful experience!“
“Came here on a cold and rainy day to try out their hot drinks, and I ended up ordering the warm Sweet Taro Sago latte, and it absolutely did not disappoint!I got it with soy milk (which they charge $0.75 extra if you want soy or oat milk) but this made it lighter and less creamy than their recommended whole milk. But still, the amount of fresh taro they put in, along with their sago was perfect and having adjusted the sweetness level to 70% was perfect so it wasn’t overwhelming. The drink also did not come out, steaming hot, and in fact, it was warm and ready to be enjoyed.Inside there was one working ordering station, but you can always order at the counter, and the staff was friendly. Credit Card is accepted in contactless way, and the drinks did not take too long to come out. Although I will say that it wasn’t so busy when I arrived.I loved that the inside was nice and warm. They had a few 4 seaters anda small 2 person table; and the tables were clean. They have a parking lot which is free for pick up of drinks and food, otherwise you could park on the street.Their restroom is a single private space booth any gender and it was clean.Overall - I’m definitely returning for their warm Sweet Taro Sago latte!“
“Visited my daughter at UCLA. We wanted Asian food and headed to Sawtelle. Walked up and down the street and saw many places that looked inviting. We settled on Dan Modern Chinese because we saw dim sum on some tables that looked good. We ordered soup dumplings, dumplings, bok choy and noodles. The dumplings were very good and the noodles and bok choy were decent. I would come back for dumplings but would pass on the noodles. If you crave dim sum, this place will satisfy your craving but dont expect much from the noodles. Noodles were thick and chewy with a gravy like sauce. Homemade noodles but not the best.“
“Over the last 10+ years I've come to this very tea house a minimum of 200 times. The atmosphere is wonderful, nice lighting and bueatiful decorations. The costumer service is particularly amazing. They genuinely care about you and pay attention to every drink. Consistency is obviously important to them because over the years the drinks have stayed amazing. I would like to highlight one employee in particular, Kevin. He is very kind and helpful. He has made every trip to Sawtelle a memorable one. I look forward to coming here many more times over the years and enjoying sweet boba!“
“WARNING DO NOT BRING YOUR BUSINESS to cup of Joy. They employ a very rude and aggressive "parking monitor" that will VERBALLY HARASS you to "get the f*ck out of here" and WILL TOW YOUR CAR. I was waiting for my ono Hawaiian order to be ready in my car to enjoy the AC when I was verbally attacked by their pathetic employee. I also seen him do the same to other people in the parking lot he targeted mostly women and Latinos. AVOID CUP O' HARASSMENT AT ALL COST“
“Best boba and nicest costumer service! I've been coming here for years and the honey green tea boba is the BEST! Also, I'm pretty picky about fried tofu but this Quickly makes hands down the yummiest! Full of lots of crispy fried bits and soft, silky tofu with amazing sweet and sour sauce. The lady who runs the shop is always so friendly and knows everyone's orders. A can't miss when in Chinatown!“
“The ambience is great! Very nice and homey spot. The staff was very kind too. We ordered a bit of everything.Pros:Prices are very good for all the dishes. Nothing was over 15 dollars on the menu. The shrimp wontons and pan fried pork buns were the best items with the most flavor. The beef roll was huge in size. Great for people that enjoy cucumber and thicker slices of the meat. The bean curd salad had a nice bite and flavor to it. They also have sparkling water on tap!Cons:Parking is bad. Getting street parking is like winning the lottery. The other option is to pay for parking which can range between 10-30 dollars. The dan dan noodles and sha gua mian did not meet our expectations. The noodles seemed a bit overcooked and a sauce/acid could have given the dish more of a balance in flavor. Our table marker was taken off the table a little early and that's when we saw on the receipt that a missing item was added incorrectly. Our server fixed it promptly so that was great.“
