“The menu items look fantastic, though I am concerned it there are non-options for dessert. I applaud them for saying they cannot accommodate vegans right away. I look forward to an enjoyable time. However, the fixed menu: $150.00 per person with tax and gratis brings it shy of $200.00 a person and all the comments stated $100. I prefer ala carte when dining, sometimes the bill can even exceed the above prices. Hope to see you soon.“

“The sort of place you stumble upon, then wonder why everyone isn’t talking about it.The food was divine. A perfect mix of flavours and delicately executed. I especially recommend the Yellowtail Crudo to start, and the lemon olive oil cake to finish. You might struggle to park but there aren’t many better places to eat in Monterey than this!Parking: On site, around the back“

“The salmon steamed in parchment was both simple and complex. Țhe blend of mushrooms, spinach, zucchini and onions added earthiness to the rich salmon and lemon sauce. The presentation was lovely. The staff was warm and attentive. Many of the customers appeared to be regulars and were welcomed as if into their home.Dietary restrictions: They easily alter the salmon for my friend's needs.“

“Kind of a hidden gem. I have lived here five years and never walked back into this patio area. We went during winter so I predict the patio experience will be even better. Food was great. Still having a hard time with such expensive tacos- so used to street tacos being affordable- we will come back.“

“The hole in the wall is located on the wharf. Walk down stairs and it's right on the water. The initial impression I got wasn't great. Standing and waiting for several mins awkwardly as multiple people passed by who work there, not even a quick greeting or acknowledgment. A very busy, quick talking woman came rushing our way at some point and whisked us away to a table. The view was beautiful. The ocean, the boats, the weather. Fairly quickly we did get served. Trying the fresh halibut special, it did. It disappoint. Deliciously encrusted with pecan and bread crumbs, a creamy mango sauce. My other half opted for the salmon, also fresh and delicious. The overall observation and interaction is that this is a locally owned establishment with a great reputation of the locals and tourist drift in and out.“

“Five stars for the fish and chips alone. Light and crisp, fresh halibut, and possibly the best fish and chips I've had! Highly recommend for those who love fish and chips. Also the grilled cheese was decadent with a rich thick tomato soup. Hamburger flavorful. Excellent bruschetta salad! Good cocktails. Very good service.“

“From the hostess who greeted and seated us, then our server being so friendly and knowledgeable about the menu, to the bussing staff staying on top of refilling beverages and clearing dishes and a manager who checked with us to make sure we were happy with the service and our food, it was a fantastic experience. The food was delicious! My husbands steak was at the temperature he ordered, my lobster perfectly cooked. Everything tasted delicious. We would highly recommend this restaurant and we will visit again in the future. A special thank you to our server Christy! Thanks for making this a great experience for us.“

“Always outstanding and a go to lunch spot when visiting. Great selection of oysters and the horseradish will clear the sinuses (the waitress warned us which was nice but we loved). Just finished the fish and chips with skinny fries. Super flavorful and fresh and the batter wasn’t too heavy.“

“Eat there often while working in Moss Landing. Wonderful and friendly staff. Absolutely the best Philly Steak around (better than I ate in Philadelphia) not to mention their breakfast burritos are to absolutely die for. I'd give 6 stars if I could.“

“Beautiful spot! The cocktails are out of this world (that’s coming from someone who doesn’t typically enjoy cocktails). The Northern Lights cocktail is phenomenal. The service is wonderful. Special shout out to Trevor! Truly spectacular.“

“This place is so yummmyyy!!! We came on a weekend trip to Monterey and decided to eat here. Service was great! My boyfriend and I came on a Sunday at around 8ish maybe 8:30ish and it wasn’t too packed. Shortly after, families did start arriving and it got busier. Regardless, we still got served our food in a timely manner and would definitely come again! Their outside seating is perfect! They have heaters and a fire setting that’s not super big but it’ll keep you warm. It’s also dog friendly which was cute!“

“My group had the best experience at the Monterey cookhouse. The brisket dip is probably the best thing I ate the whole weekend, but everything here was delicious and reasonably priced. Make sure you save room to order dessert! Staff is great, the outdoor seating area has a great ambiance. Definitely recommend.“
“The bartender was fantastic and so accommodating. Made the evening unforgettable. The atmosphere was perfect. There were no chairs when I arrived, but I was fortunate enough to snag a bar rail on the wall adjacent to the bar. When I looked about, I observed that the area is nicely designed in an art-deco style. However, there was no place to hang a coat ((add coat hooks, please!!)). There were a lot of people waiting to be served at the bar, but the bartender appeared to be slinging drinks swiftly enough.“
“We had a bar tender named Parker. He was ok but didn't know how to play 1/4 24 in dice and in fact was pissed when we passed him the dice in the cup! He just needed to say uncle on the game! We had so much fun in the bar and will return for the next match but Parker needs for focus on getting one more ingredient in our drink! Dave, Kathy, Renee and Steve. Happy Holidays.“

“Best late night spot in Carmel. They have late night food and a full bar. The bartenders know their stuff and have great cocktail options. The mezcal margarita is probably the best mezcal drink I’ve had but there is a sweet and spicy note. It turns into a little dance club at night too.“

“From one pasta lover to another, this is hands-down some of the best italian food I have ever tasted! We tried the mushroom rotini and the occu busco and both were 10/10 for flavor and presentation. The atmosphere is cozy and authentic and the service is impeccable! Will definitely try again when I’m in the area.“

“To be clear, there is no food, it's just drinks. However I love the location, the ambiance, and said drinks. They put care into creating these recipes, and just as much care into making them. Service is wonderful, and the live music is great. Be prepared to put some money down for drinks, average price off happy hour for the drinks is in the neighborhood of 16 bucks. We spent about 80ish bucks for two drinks each between my wife and I.“

“Made a reservation for an outside table but they sat us inside because it was potentially going to rain. We also selected that we were celebrating a birthday on the reservation and they didn't acknowledge this so we didn't say anything. You're gunna have to let them know in person. The playlist here it was IMPECCABLE!!! Lots of great vibey music. I started off with a Virgin Margarita which was very tasty and delightful. Hubby ordered a smoked old fashioned which came out in a glass cover that when removed it was quite literally smoking! He said he liked it. We tried the pan seared Octopus in a coconut curry sauce which was a great consistency but a bit in the salty side. I still enjoyed it. I ordered the Bone-In Rib Eye which was a LOT of meat but also a LOT of fat. Very flavorful. Cooked perfectly (asked for medium rare) not too salty. The side I paired it with was the mushrooms and pear onions. I can't recommend this enough! And if you're not into mushrooms you've got to try the Brussels Sprouts in a miso sauce! They're to die for. Everything had a nice little char to it. Took a while but that is how you know it's good. All good things take time. We were a bit full so we did not order desserts but if you come here on your birthday you get a cool firework candle. The bill ended up being about $400 but honestly it was all worth it because the ingredients were high quality and our server was knowledgeable and enthusiastic about the menu making it a really memorable experience here. Next time I want to splurge I will most likely return“
“oof, i was so excited about trying sea root, and sadly i left a tad disappointed. we started with the herb focaccia, which was absolutely divine. the bread was so pillowy soft in the middle with a slight crunch on the outside. that with the whipped feta butter is what foodie dreams are made of! the tapas trio was decent too -- the roasted eggplant and pomegranate was wonderful and the manchego cheese was delicious. when i ordered the salmon, i was hoping to get a little rice or something instead of the beans. it was like bbq beans with salmon, which is a very unusual combination. they weren't able to accommodate and substitutes or additions so i figured i'd give it a try. the salmon was a tad plain, where the beans complimented the flavor with the chard. i still was left feeling a little disappointed as the fish was under seasoned and the beans just really didn't do it for me. however, it was a decent sized piece of salmon so i wasn't left hungry! the overall ambiance of the restaurant is contemporary and so cute. we enjoyed live music from the bar area, which was such a nice addition. i understand that the F&B industry has taken a huge hit since covid, so i rounded up to four stars, but if i were to come back, it would likely be for a beverage and apps.“
“Fun unpretentious bar in Carmel? Yes! We didn't eat here, but the bar menu looks great and the place smelled good. The drink menu was really ample, something for everyone. Their craft cocktails is what most ppl were here for and they were interesting and tasty. I was very happy to find blue Chimay. The service was friendly and quick. We should have stayed longer.“
“This is the best restaurant that I have EVER been to in the WORLD! I've eaten in Paris, London and Rome! The food was simply amazing, and very flavorful. But the cherry on top was the outstanding service! Everyone was very attentive to our needs, very kind and GENUINE! I asked our waiter about the chef who then offered him to come say hi to us! We had to personally thank the chef for how amazing our food was!“

“Such a beautiful restaurant! We came here right at opening during happy hour, so we had the place all to ourselves. We got some apps at the bar and enjoyed the decor and conversations with the staff. The oysters were delicious and elegantly prepared. We taste tested all the various preparations, and the Gilroy Garlic was our favorite. The margaritas are super good!“
