“The coastal kitchen was a wonderful experience. The staff was super friendly and accommodating. At each course they explained in great detail what the particular flavor characteristics were of the outstanding prepared food that we enjoyed We did the wine pairing, which was also quite a lot of fun. I admit, I enjoy a certain style of wine. But with an open mind was able to understand a nuances of different variables, as it was paired with food. The Somalia had a great deal of knowledge, and was very skilled at explaining a nuances of the wines we enjoyed. Overall, it was a fantastic experience, pretty pricey, but well worth it if you can afford that type of thing“

“Our visit to Stoke's Adobe last weekend produced the best meal I've had on The Peninsula in a decade! Restauranteur, Sarah Orr, has hit one out of the park. The dishes prepared by Executive Chef, Bryce Hansen, were flawless, my favorties being the seared scallops and truffle chicken. Loved the nod to former occupant and socialite, Hattie Gragg, with the inclusion of the Hattie's Old Fashioned on the cocktail menu :) Looking forward to our next visit and an opportunity to sample other items on their ever evolving menu.“

“Aubergine is the best fine dining experience in Carmel-by-the-Sea. The food, presentation, ambience, and service are all of the highest caliber and well-deserving of the recognition earned by this restaurant. Aubergine was more than accommodating of my personal request for plant-based options in lieu of their traditional prix fixe menu, and they exceeded my expectations. I would have to travel to New York to another world-renowned restaurant to receive the same level of consideration and experience a similar level of culinary excellence. My wife was able to enjoy the traditional prix fixe menu options while I was thrilled by the creativity of the kitchen. She informed me later that this was the first time Aubergine had catered to a complete plant-based course for dinner. Absolutely magnifique. We were also introduced to a terrific Sauternes by the sommelier, a novelty we hadn't explored before, but now embrace. Thank you to Chef Cogley and the entire staff for making our visit so memorable. We will return. John and Rhona“

“Excellent food at very reasonable prices. I have been there over the years and have always loved the food. This was my first time since Covid, and delighted that the quality of food, excellent preparation and wonderful and creative cuisine has not diminished at all — I only wished that I lived closer as this restaurant is an hour and a half away so only get to dine there on our occasional overnight vacation stays.“

“The salmon steamed in parchment was both simple and complex. Țhe blend of mushrooms, spinach, zucchini and onions added earthiness to the rich salmon and lemon sauce. The presentation was lovely. The staff was warm and attentive. Many of the customers appeared to be regulars and were welcomed as if into their home.Dietary restrictions: They easily alter the salmon for my friend's needs.“

“A true family run restaurant that serves great food. You know it's good when most customers are locals. We had dinner, I had the filet of sole and husband had the steak. Both entrees were delicious. We will be back to try their breakfast next trip.“

“We are here on a Sunday night I'm April with some trepidation simce we were the only customers. The food is classic French with great flavors and fresh food. I had the braises short rib and my wife had the mushroom ravioli. Flavors and service were on point. The only negative is that this is classic French style with rich heavy sauces. We would have skipped the appetizers had we known in advance. So go there hungry and fou“

“So this restaurant was recommended to us by our driver. We made reservations and went to experience what the hype was all about. We started with the pea greens salad and it was so yummy. The mains came, I had the halibut and my partner had the wagu short ribs. His was really tasty from what he claims but my halibut was a bit dry.We finished with the berry bread pudding….AMAZING!!!My take is that the $44 plate is really expensive for dry fish. $14 for a glass of perseco and $25 for a glass of wine….. a little much.I do realize we are in Carmel but I would have tried another spot had I known. Well worth the try….. just expensive.“

“We're dying outside because we had two dogs. They were so accommodating and even have great meal choices for dogs . We got the grilled chicken that is unseasoned and a side of rice for each of our dogs and there's so much they could've shared. The meatballs were fantastic. Can't recommend them enough.“

“Wow. Just wow.Let me break it down from the top. The parking, not the best. But I didn’t let that stop us. I knew good things always take a little work, so I was cool with that. The restaurant itself was small, but my gf is also small, and she’s great, so I assumed the same. When we ordered, Me and my gf both got the chicken and waffles. We figured, why not? Right? When it came to the table, it was a pretty big plate. Huge fluffy waffle with a couple thick pieces of chicken. I didn’t know where to start. So I panicked and just dumped the syrup over the whole thing. It was a great idea, which usually doesn’t happen for me so early in the morning. It was amazing. We really enjoyed it, but bummed that we heard it was closing down. Good stuff here“

“It truly is a hidden gem, we arrived thinking it was going to be overfilled with people but it was calming and easy to get a table. Service was great and the food was delicious. I had the huevos rancheros plate which was very tasteful and full of flavors, my boyfriend had the chicken and waffles. Both plates were yummy!“

“Best dog friendly restaurant in Carmel! Food was excellent! We started with the Caesar salad which we shared. Entrees included the short ribs and Asian meatloaf. Our 2 dogs had chicken from dog menu. Our server, Michael, gave us excellent service. Highly recommended!“
“This place is in the Embassy Suites- that’s important for info on atmosphere and finding it! Really nice ambiance- we ended up here as it was the only place open past nine and we had just gotten into town and needed dinner and drinks and got both here with very friendly service. You can sit away from the bar area if the hotel bar is hoppin’.Limited menu- but totally sufficient and nice representation of local produce.Parking: Says paid parking only- we are t hotel guests so hoping for the best ?“

“Tico’s quickly became my girlfriend and I’s favorite restaurant in the Marina/Monterey area. While visiting the area we ended up making it a mission to go nearly everyday. The food is delicious, from breakfast to lunch items it never disappoints. And the crème brûlée was incredible and we were heartbroken when on our last day in the area they were out! The staff here bring such a kind and wholesome atmosphere, the walls painted beautiful bright colors and flowers in glass vases on each table, the music played here was so good and just wrapped up the whole vibe so neatly. Thank you Ricardo and Sylvia for such excellent service and making us feel so welcomed!! As well as the cooks who I unfortunately didn’t get the name but wow you guys can cook! We will absolutely be returning here when we visit Monterey next!!!“
