“We came here after a long urban hike with ravenous appetites. It was late noon but cafe was moderately full. Soon we were seated, welcomed with house special cauliflower & lavender soups. It was delicious and moth watering. I ordered potatoe and sage torte along with lemon & blueberry tart. Trust me ! We all had sumptuous lunch here. I will highly recommend this place who love vegan foods. I am sure ,here you will enjoy foods too.“

“Had a late dinner with some friends to celebrate a birthday. We sat outdoors in the heated parklet and ordered a number of small and main entrees to share. Everything was so delicious. The only thing missing was some cocktails (they only serve wine and beer). Service was attentive and helpful too!“

“Located in the Presidio, Dalida has THE BEST pita bread ever! Trust me, you'll want to order an extra to enjoy with the hummus that comes with the dish "breaking bread". Dalida expertly cooks their lamb, I highly recommend ordering the lamb shoulder. Another dish that I also enjoyed was the octopus, which is plated artfully. One dish that didn't meet my expectations was the chicken. I was hard to cut and wasn't cooked throughly. Our waitress was super gracious and took the chicken back and had the kitchen fire up a new one, which was also just meh. Give this place a try, I'd just not order the chicken. Parking is fairly easy and there's outdoor dining for those rare non freezing cold SF days.“

“I would strongly balk at the negative reviews, of which there are only a few. Insalata's was a gem from start (which was a delicious stracciatella special with grilled bread) to finish (chocolate on chocolate). In between there were great service, a buzzing atmosphere, and a great bowl of olives, plate of gnocchetti and an unbelievable yogurt chicken. Strongly recommend.“

“Amazing food and service! We had the combo platter (various mezzes) and the kuzu incik (lamb shank), as well as some baklava and turkish coffee for dessert. Food was flavourful and tender (lamb fell apart from the bone). However, what really stood out was the excellent service. Not only were servers quick and attentive, but they also went out of their way to ensure we had proper sized portions (we got some extra lamb because our piece was on the smaller side). Overall, fantastic place for a meal.“

“This is the best hummus I've had on this side of the ocean. Not only was the hummus delicious, but all the trimmings as well: pita, pickles, fries, mint tea, and more. The physical restaurant is also a lovely and welcoming space. Should be 5 stars, except for serving meat.“

“Locoum and other desserts appear in the front window to entice you in. There is a cute exterior seating space and the indoor seating feels clean and welcoming with a spacious feel. The service was a bit low-staffed but they were very friendly, efficient and responsive so we were able to complete our lunch within the 1 hour window. Everything except the falafel salad was 4-5 stars. Good value for money on the starters.“

“My friend and I had the BEST time here Saturday night!!! The service was amazing and everyone helping us was incredibly friendly and kind. Our servers went out of their way to make us feel special and were so much fun to interact with. They even came running out of the restaurant after us to give me my phone that I had left on the table by accident! Highly recommend - great atmosphere, delicious eats, fabulous time!“

“I got the chicken stew to go. Chicken meat was falling off the bones. He called it a soup. There were lots of veggies, two pieces of chicken, one was a whole thigh. It was really good. Not too salty. They gave me two hugh pita bread. Veggies were zuchini and potatoes. $17. Sketchy neighborhood. I would go only day time. Yes, it is near police station but police are inside, not outside.“

“The food is SO good. My husband had the crepe sarrasine with lamb sausage and he instantly fell in love. I had the chicken shawarma and added caramelized onions. Everything about it was so flavorful. We decided to top it off with the lemon crepe - I think I died and went to heaven. If we lived closer, I would probably need an intervention. The outside seating was clean and quaint and the service was great. When we come back to the city, I will definitely be stopping in again!“

“I had an amazing experience here! I unexpectedly stopped by here and went in for breakfast around 1:30pm. The owner was sitting table next to me so even they weren’t serving breakfast anymore he heard me ask and he told them to make me breakfast. I appreciated it so much. I ate avocado toast and iced latte and it was yummy. Shout out to the owner for making my day better ?“

“I had the Street Style Beef and Lamb Gyro Wrap and it was very good. This was surprising because I walked it quite a ways before sitting down to eat, so it was getting cold and looked kind of small. No! It had big meaty flavor and a great (full fat) yogurt sauce. It's very satisfying and an excellent price for San Francisco. The service was kind and professional (I always giggle when strangers call me boss). The neighborhood isn't the best of course, but the inside is light, bright, and new with a good amount of seating so next time I'll probably just eat there. A solid addition to the local food options!“

“As an Asian I normally don’t go for sandwiches. This place, however, has hands down the tastiest sandwiches in town. Bread is light, warm and fresh. All the food they offer is of quality. I accidentally stumbled into this cafe when I had some errands downtown and I am glad to have discovered this little gem.“

“We used to eat dinner here on our way to Davies Symphony Hall 15 years ago. We moved away and just came back this week for a mini vacation. We took a chance today and it was as delicious as ever. We had the chicken kebab plate and the lamb kebab plate and 2 cans of soda for $48. What a bargain. The food is fresh, healthy and plentiful. The flavors are wonderful and the service is very good. It’s clean and neat inside—truly a little gem.“

“We were a group of 10+, and that was our bad. The lanes between tables are narrow and not suited for a rowdy crowd meeting for a global reunion.Parking is nuts. But this is the mission. And the signage is subtle so you may miss it.They have decent cocktails and cocktails, with flavors from the Levant, with cardamom and other warming spices. Unique in some ways, familiar in others. We ordered half the menu, from the veggie mezze platter to ful, chicken skewers to shrimp skewers. While most of the group enjoyed the food, the experience is on the understated side. The service was polite, but be prepared to ask for pita repeatedly. Don’t expect attention to detail where someone will fill your cup without asking or even ensure everyone has silverware. To be fair, they aren’t geared for large groups. We should’ve done our research. It’s a decent place for date night or a small intimate gathering of up to 4.I am torn about the food. If I didn’t have a comparison with the excellent almost-Michelin star Beit Rima, I would’ve thought this was excellent. However portions are on the smaller side and the flavor is on the milder/blander side. It’s that one thing that needs to be amped up. Some lemon on the shrimp skewer, some spice on the chicken, the labneh was a little too sour. We enjoyed the muhamara, and the falafel wasn’t too shabby. The fattoush salad was fresh but lacked oomph. We had heard good things about the two Palestinian cheese, however be warned they can be very salty, yet somehow delicious. Some folks liked the veggie musakhan, a wrap that’s stuffed with cooked mushrooms, and others enjoyed their freekeh and red lentil soups. While the desserts were average, kannafeh and qatayef, the standout was halwa with ice cream.Overall this was a mixed experience. Mostly our fault for having a large group that overwhelmed the kitchen and staff, but most of the blame goes to Beit Rima for giving us high expectations from our middle eastern food.“

“We love going to Terzo-it never disappoints. Atmosphere is good-lighting excellent with a nice buzz to the room. Our server we've had multiple times and the continuity in staff says a lot . We split the arugula salad/grilled asparagus /meatballs on polenta and split a main entree the Greek chicken -with the exception of the aspragus which was pedestrian everything else was terrific-highlights were the meatballs/polenta and the Greek chicken—there's always something new on the wines by the glass list -had the Chianti Classico and the Timorasso-server was terrific as usual-we'll be back-“

“Came for SF restaurant week. The restaurant is past the lobby of the Intercontinental. Parking was easy on the street, but apparently the restaurant also validates valet. Amuse-bouche and sourdough with butter were pleasant surprise additions to the menu. Appreciated the bread being cut all the way. Texture difference of crust and inside was great and arrived at a nice warm temperature. Got an old fashioned and it was nice and strong. Friend said her drink was pretty weak. Soup was also nice and warm. Crab was great and wished there was more of it. Duck was delicious, especially with the sauces. Yuzu dessert was perfect, coconut part was a bit distracting for me. Hotel staff was top notch with welcoming and guiding the way to the restaurant. Restaurant staff was attentive. Vibe was quiet and relaxing.“

“Service is amazing. For some apparent reason the act didn't show my specific instructions. I came back to switch out the food. Might I add this is the best burger I've had IN THE WHOLE CITY!!!!“

“Ordered spinach salad, no adds in. Very fresh, good combinations, big size. Only thing I would recommend to make it proper Mediterranean is to just add a seasoning bar with olive oil, apple cider vinegar, lemon juice instead of the seasoning that came prepared cause it's too sugary. Service was excellent, very decent guys, all seemed kind and humble. Surprisingly fair/moderate prices, considering the city.“

“If you know me, you know that I am half-Sudanese (Northern Sudan) and half-Egyptian. I moved here over a decade ago, and it was hard to find Sudanese food until I came across Z Zoul. The restaurant is a haven of warmth, cleanliness, and comfort. When I entered, I immediately felt like I was back home, thanks to the delicious aromas and the warm welcome I received from Arif. Aref served us the best homemade Sudanese food that brought back fond memories of my dad and family. The taste of the food and how it was presented just brought tears to my eyes. After the sumptuous meal, we ordered hibiscus drink (Karkade), which was the perfect finale. The food is very reasonably priced, and you get a generous portion for the price. If you've never tried Sudanese food, I highly recommend Z Zoul. My husband, who had never tasted Sudanese food before, and my son can't remember the goodness of Sudanese food. Both were thrilled with the food, and I'm sure you will be too. Aref and Dalya, I cannot thank you enough from the bottom of my heart for the hospitality and the incredible food. May your restaurant continue to flourish, and may your family always be blessed. Thank you again!“

“Absolutely BEST Mediterranean place around!! I'm Middle Eastern and I've been to many middle eastern/Mediterranean places around the country and this is by far the best I've ever had. This taste just like the food in the Middle East and is truly authentic and fresh. The Shawirma wraps are packed with meat and veggies and delicious sauce. The kebabs are tender meat cubes that taste so good over rice as a dinner plate with two sides. There's plenty of veggie options here too. Falafel, hummus, eggplant wrap, and veggie combo just to name a few. The salads are great as well. my favorite is Tabouleh which is a popular salad in the region. Please do yourself a favor and try this great place out! You won't be disappointed!“

“I've come here many times over the 17 years I've lived in SF, and the food is always delicious. This review is especially for their dessert, a dessert I never tried before, called the muhalabiye. “I've been looking at this place for a while and finally decided to give it a try. I tried a beef/lamb shawarma platter. My food was delicious, service was friendly and efficient. Not sure, but it may also be family owned and run. Which I love supporting. This does not have a "first date" ambience. But, that's ok because it's more like the place you and your sweetie or friends will want to make your "regular go to and take home and snuggle on couch together or hang out at the dinner table" place. The only reason I gave it 4 stars is because of the minimal seating area and "ambience." If I could rate 4.5 I would. But, I'm definitely going back. Yummy.“

“Gosh, I absolutely LOVE Sajj. It is so quick, perfect when you're in a rush, but still want something yummy and healthy. Think mediterranean-style Chipotle. I love the chicken shawafel or pomegranate chicken bowl. Every single topping on there is a perfect fit. I usually get all the spreads and can't choose a favorite. You can't go wrong with the toppings, but I usually add the sumac cauliflower, onions, cucumbers, cherry peppers, arugula, and mint leaves, finished off with either the spicy tahini or cilantro mint chutney. I know some people love the lentil soup. The baklava is so flaky and nutty. Most of the locations I've been to are clean and nicely decorated. The staff is helpful and pack on the toppings on your bowl. I absolutely LOVE Sajj, I even have a loyalty/newsletter (which I almost never do). Definitely recommend.“

“Living in the Sierra foothills, I don't get much opportunity for Mediterranean food so was craving it this SF evening. When I walked into NB Gyros, I smelled that unmistakable but unfortettable aroma of grilled meat so I ordered their grill sampler. I also ordered an appetizer of baba ganoush and a cold Stella Artois. The baba ganoush arrived quickly and I devoured it. I'm no expert but this was so delicious and I wanted more. Next, the grilled sampler came and I was amazed at how much food was included. There were two varieties of chicken, beef, kofte, and lamb, rice, salad and pita. All the meats were flavorful and had that delicious char I was looking for. The chicken was a little overcooked and dry but still delicious. I couldn't finish this big platter so was offered a take-away box, which I gladly accepted.I know I'll return because the service was fast and friendly, the atmosphere was open and welcoming and the food was delicious!“
