“Overall a really nice, cozy, but dimly lit neighborhood restaurant. With uniquely organized small plate meals. They've stood the test of time. There is a lot of variation on seating; from a community table, to small 2 and 4 tops in the 2 window front, to a patio and then to a front covid style patio on the street front. Why a 4? Possibly the dim lighting, combined with the excess noise inside.“
“My partner and I are in town for a funeral and we had to kill a little time between our vrbo check out time and our flight home, so my partner found a place for us to get some food and a drink or six. ?Luckily for us, they found The Fat Lady and it was SUCH a wonderful experience!Our server, Elizabeth, was so incredibly delightful and helpful. She made great recommendations and didn’t hesitate to tell us that she wouldn’t mind if we had to camp out for a couple hours, or more, despite our profuse apologies. And that’s not to mention that she was incredibly fun/funny, and dare I say she was a bit cheeky (?) but in a safe and super respectful way. Not only that, she made our dining experience even better than it otherwise would have been - coming and going with the flow you just instantly know is a true mark of high intelligence and skill in the profession.Now, the food. Gawd. The food was so tasty.I very much enjoyed the oysters, that came with lemons, real horseradish, and garlic butter. And I had the Atlantic salmon fillet as my main. My partner had the French onion soup and a baked potato that they found to be delicious on a cloudy/drizzly Bay Area day. As for the drinks… We very much enjoyed the Bees Knees and Cupid’s Arrow cocktail, as we did a spicy mezcal cocktail that Elizabeth suggested for us.By the way, the ambience and atmosphere is absolutely fantastic. It’s almost like being in your kooky rich aunt’s mansion, it’s incredibly ornate and beautiful inside, with art and curtains and lamps. I was in a seat where I could see a stained glass window featuring a rose pattern, making it that much more special.Needless to say, after our time at The Fat Lady, we’re both adequately prepared and smiling before our flight home after a handful of difficult days. “Service was really great! Everyone was friendly and food and drinks came out quickly. Server was circling around the whole time, so we didn’t have to wait ever.Steak dish was good, especially the mashed potatoes. We also liked the hummus, croquettas, and the salad.Cute spot, cold inside though.“

Whether you leave that building happy or sad, both attitudes could use a cold brew and a croissant -- both of which were good.This cafe is exactly what you need, exactly where you need it.Considered dropping it to 4 stars for not providing the opportunity to get drunk if that's what you needed after the an IRS meeting instead.“
“Well , to start off I do believe I was the first of the day, so you guys really need to clean the grill a lot better !!! the meat tastes burnt!!! other than that the flavors were there , the pickle the lettuce, yogurt sauce, the dill. “Love this restaurant, the food is great. Service is sometime slow but it's worth waiting for. But only Dine In. I'm really, really disappointed that they now have all deliveries come from someplace in Berkeley because that's about a 2 star experience. I won't be ordering delivery again.“
“Acre is a family favorite, with David Jacobson's fabulous pizza and boy, did we enjoy our dinner with friends...the town trio was great...roast chicken beautifully cooked, good crispy fries...and the salads lovely (the pizza it goes without saying, great, even for our native New York Italian who never had a store-bought pizza until her 20's! )“
“We tried this restaurant for the first time this last weekend. First thing I noticed when I entered the restaurant was that the service was of the very high quality. The staff was very warm, thoughtful, very engaged with us, and ready to help. We were looked after very well during our entire time there. The food was fabulous, authentic, delicious, and beautifully presented. The premises were clean and the atmosphere was brilliant and lovely. The whole dining experience was very delightful.
