“I have to admit, as an airplane nerd I’m perhaps a little biased since this spot is at the Half Moon Bay airport it here it goes!Pilot Light is literally in an old terminal building so to the reviews that say it feels like it…. Yeah. But that said, I enjoy the environment. It’s relaxed and bustling at the same time. There’s a good sized outdoor patio with several tables when the weather is good. There’s usually a few operations of general aviation aircraft every hour. The food: I have yet to have anything here that isn’t good. I’ve tried several meals, and the Huevos Rancheros is definitely a fave. Presentation is always pretty, too! There was one review about the plastic glasses being worse for wear, but that problem is solved by nice aluminum glasses. Even the coffee, which is tasty, is served in an aluminum insulated cup!Pilot Light is definitely on my must go list in the area. The service is always friendly!Wheelchair accessibility: Looks like it would be good.“

“*** Update***I recently went here again and tried the corn beef hash. I highly recommend it.Also, tried the Belgian Waffle so fluffy and butteryI passed by this place a few times and always wanted to stop by and try it. Finally, I got to try it, and this place is amazing. Upon entering, it seemed super busy. It looks like the place has been here for a while, but the chairs and tables looked modern. Not worn out and faded looking like some places.I was warmly greeted, right away. She looked like someone who enjoys her job. She told me that he chicken fried steak was the special today. So naturally, I had to order it. The portion was just right. It was crispy and so flavorful with the gravy. The other item we ordered was a ham and cheese omelette with pancakes. It looked so basic, but the flavor was amazing. The pancakes were buttery and delicious.I highly recommend this hidden gem. It is definitely worth it. It was reasonably priced, and the portion was just right.“

“Love this Brazilian café! Claudio and his family took over this Glen Park place a few years ago and kept the name Pebbles. They're super nice and serve the city's best pão de queijo (cheese bread), coxinhas (savory dough pockets filled with chicken), and empadas, IMO. They also have amazing fruit/acai/health bowls named after soccer stars like Pele and Neymar, as well as delicious smoothies. Ótimo! (Perfect!)“

“I was pretty impressed with my visit to Royal Donut Cafe. I didn't come for their donuts, but for their breakfast and they had some of the best country fried steak I've had a in a while. The interior is very dated so that might turn some people off, but they are expanding the restaurant and taking over the space next door. They said that there is a possibility that they open for dinner in the future too. Staff were very friendly as well. Parking in the area is certainly a pain in the area, but there are paid parking lots near by. Country Fried Steak & Eggs ($15.95) was what I ordered and it was massive. I was stuffed after eating it and the steak had the perfect breading. The sausage gravy was very tasty and the hash browns were also a large portion. The eggs they also cooked really well and they don't overcook them like I accidently do at home because I love runny eggs. It is definitely worth a visit here although I have no input on their donuts or pastries personally. Their breakfast is top tier though and you get large portions. Would recommend this breakfast spot to anyone in the area.“

“First time visitor. Ordered the bacon and egg breakfast with a side of biscuits and gravy. The breakfast was really good. I liked the country potatoes and the eggs were done to order. I have to say I did not care for the biscuits and gravy( well the gravy). The gravy had a congealed texture and was fairly bland. Being a southern boy I expected to have a white gravy and sausage. I took one bite, was unsure so took a second. That was all it took to decide I did not care for the gravy. They removed them from my bill but left me with a unsatisfied craving for real biscuits and gravy. Everything else was great.“

The pancakes were big and fluffy, Rhea eggs were fluffy as well and the bacon was crispy! Coffee was hot and just right with real cream. “Had a fat weeklong craving for smoked salmon, and this was one of the places that's been on my radar for brunch. First thing I noticed was how cute the interior is!! It's decked in flower decorations and interesting table setups. They also have screen-free weekends, so don't come here on a weekend if you need a place to sit down and work. We got the smoked salmon toast with avocado, berry brûlée toast (a spring special item!), and a matcha latte, which they say is made with ceremonial grade matcha imported from Japan. Smoked salmon toast was standard smoked salmon toast, which in my opinion, is all you can really ask for if you love smoked salmon like me. The crust on the toast was a bit overly hard, though, but I mean...I feel like any cafe with thick toast is going to have that. Berry brûlée toast was nicely sweet and creamy, but I had hoped there would be more berries. Matcha latte was STRONG on the matcha. We ended up diluting it with more milk from the communal pitchers LOL. It's good you know they're not diluting it themselves though! Overall, I'd definitely be back. It's a bit pricey here but still more affordable than other brunch spots. Waffles look great too!“

“MIL's request for her birthday breakfast. 8am on a Saturday and it's a little less than half full so we got to choose our spot. Definitely where the locals go. Sometimes we walk over but with the rain, we drove in. We sat at a booth with a view of Bayshore Blvd below and San Bruno Mountain in the distance. Pretty straight forward diner breakfast fare, huge and satisfying portions, and friendly, efficient service. They make sure your coffee mug is full. My usual is the Bayside Omelette (yummy hot links inside) and vary the sides depending on my mood - today it was hash browns and sourdough toast. Eric gets the Country Fried Steak and Eggs more often than not and MIL likes the Denver Omelette. Leaving a little before 10am, most of the booths are full! There is a small parking lot adjacent to the cafe and when that is full, parking along Hester is the next option.“
