“Only 2 items were vegetarian. We order bothThe most I liked was vegetarian ramen (replacement of vegetables are not an option). 2nd item was vegetable tempura and for me was a bit oily. But I’ll definitely go there one more time for their Ramen.Vegetarian options: 1. vegetarian ramen (replacement of vegetables are not an option).2. vegetable tempura (little oily)“
“First of all, let me say that the service was kind and friendly. I went with my daughter, who the employees engaged with in a sweet manner from entrance to exit. It helped that we were the only customers, but for the employees to be so engaged at a slow time says something about the establishment. Now, the location is old and not the cleanest. But L&L has always been more of a grab n' go place. For the 20+ years I've been to these restaurants, from Southern to Northern California, I've rarely seen people eat in them. None of them have been very clean. We come for the generous portions, macaroni salad and luau luau pork they cook upon order.“
“?CHICKEN ADOBO OMELETTE $17If you like sour food you might like this very typical Filipino dish! Vinegar cooked omelette rice! When it was served, it was really fragrant and appetizing! But I personally don’t like vinegar very much, so the taste doesn’t quite suit me.?DA SITUATION $13I like this very much! It’s a dish that’s perfect for brunchI like the crispy texture added by the tots inside~You can choose the meat according to your preference. We chose Lechon roast suckling pig.?SPICY GARLIC SHRIMP $19Seeing this makes me miss the food trucks in Hawaii.Their seasoning is good and the garlic flavor is less intense compared to the Hawaiian food truck. The problem is that as someone who grew up by the seaI think its shrimps are not very fresh (the meat is not firm but soft)“
“Closest to Hawaiian poke in the area. Really fresh and flavorful. A bit pricey for the amount of stuff given. Every time I've been there the employees aren't very welcoming but it's a quick grab and go place. No inside dining.“
“First time to a Hukilau since the Palo Alto & SF restaurants closed. There's a bar at the front of thea long hallway to the dining area. Food was as good as I remember it was but the atmosphere in the dining area wasn't as good as it was at the other restaurants. I'd say the lighting made it feel like an old coffee shop“
“This is our go-to spot for Hawaiian food. Parking here could be a pain depending on the hour you go, The staff is really friendly and fast. Got the protein plate with less carbs. This is plenty of food and enough to feed 2 people. They also have different types of masubi. This is a great, affordable spot to get a quick meal if you're in the area“
“Stopped by for a later lunch on our way to the Pumpkin Patch! Love that all the toppings and sides are included in the price! The fish options are all really good. Really liked the spicy versions of the fish too! They were generous with the portions! I probably could have made it a second meal! So glad we got to try it out and will be coming back again!“
“It was my best poke lunch, everything is just top notch from the service, the atmosphere inside to the quality of the food, everything is very fresh and tasty, I will come here with my family and childrenParking: Good location with a lot of parking lot“
“Excellent fresh I know sashimi went to different places around these guys more selections and big big bowls. All the mixes of seasonings and recommendations. I should have give those guys 5 stars long ago.I'm a big guy double the meat, tuna or a mix with salmon. Your full all evening.“
“The Monterey Rd restaurant is kuddos 5stars. The restaurant is always clean, the service is great the delivery is quick and OMG the food is impeccable good. I have referral numerous family members and friends to this one restaurant. I fell in love 3 12 yes ago and now I'm a regular. the food is clean, healthy and very tasty.“
“Exceptional experience here. The Chinese skewers were incredibly flavorful and cooked to perfection. The owner's warmth and genuine interest in customer satisfaction added a special touch to the dining experience. They were eager to hear feedback and offered great advice on menu choices. Can't wait to visit again!“
“Their server looks pretty mean Everytime I go. Well, besides their facial expression, their service are ok (Great). Their poke bowl is great but you gotta try their icecream. My fav is the egg yolk ice cream, it give u a little salty taste along with the milkish ice cream.“
“The food was amazing! We ordered the chicken katsu and the BBQ mix. Everything was so flavorful and very generous portions. The macaroni salad was hands down one of the best I've had. If they have it, try out the pinapple cream soda.“
“I went Friday 8/17/23 and the service was great. The woman taking orders was friendly and very efficient... wow! I ordered the BBQ and Chicken & fried fish combo for abt $16 and it was cooked perfectly. Nice portions. More than I can eat in one sitting so I made two meals out of it. The place is just simple table and chairs, but serves its purpose.“
“This junk food junkie loved my first ever bowl. And it was vegan and gluten free so I can't even believe how awesome it was. I ordered the pineapple teriyaki cauliflower bowl with no bell peppers and added mushrooms instead and absolutely everything was delicious! I ordered it served with the sesame scallion rice and I can't even believe how much I loved that rice!It was a really big portion and totally filled me up. I couldn't even finish the sweet potato salad, which was also really good. I thought I would be hungry because there was no meat in my meal but nope. Totally happy and ready for a nap. Wish my boss would let me take one LOL!I found them through GrubHub and the meal arrived nice and warm. I will definitely be ordering Lulu bowls again!“
“Winston Churchill apparently once said something along the lines that Russia was a "a riddle wrapped in a mystery inside an enigma." That's kind of what I feel about this restaurant. Why does it serve a mixture of Hawaiian, Puerto Rican, Mexican, and Korean fast food? Why is it built into the side of a Home Depot? Why are there motivational gym-style quotations and writings on the wall? Perhaps I will never know the answer to these mysteries, but nevertheless, I greatly enjoy eating here and will continue to do so.To quickly state it, yeah, it's a restaurant built into the side of a Home Depot, but there's roofing and seating (and fake grass as a floor?), which are basically perfectly functional at all times. The slightly open nature of the area actually means it doesn't get too hot - so it actually works pretty well as a restaurant. The food selection is as I mentioned, quite varied. I've had the Loco Moco, Bulgogi, Hot Dog, and Philly Cheesesteak. All of them came out very quickly, cheaply (very rare in the Bay Area!!) and were as tasty as you would expect all of these foods to be. On the other hand, you're pretty much getting what you order - no surprises (and you wouldn't really expect a surprise). Macaroni from the Hawaiian plates always goes great with the rice - and the portion sizes for any of the plates are quite large!Seems very popular among people working at or around Home Depot for their breakfast and lunch - and I can understand why! Cheap, fast, convenient, and tasty! I honestly haven't eaten like this very often since moving up from Southern California - and it's delightful that I can eat like this again. Heavily recommended if you want a cheap, fast lunch in a place that generally doesn't have many cheap, fast lunch options.“
“This place hit all the attributes for an amazing quick lunch spot. The saff was friendly. Being my 1st time visiting the menu was in front of me which made it easy to make my decisions quickly. Over all very satisfying. Would definitely visit again and soon!“
“My favorite poke place in the area! I love the choice to get unlimited toppings instead of having to pay for every single topping. I'm always satisfied with my food! Online order is also really easy and they always have my order ready for pick up. The service is friendly as well. I just wish they opened later than 7pm :( sometimes I'm unable to get there before they close“
“Really nice little poke place. Worker was extremely nice and helpful in explaining whatever questions I had. $15 for 3 scoops is a really good steal compared to other places I've frequented which cost more and/or had limited topping selections for their price. Will come again if I'm ever craving poke !“
“I absolutely love this place. We order lunch from here on Fridays and I look forward to getting food from here. I had never had poke before my co workers introduced me to this food. Now I'm addicted and have to have it once a week. The kids that work here are really sweet“
“Spoonfish Poke is a convenient place to go to if you're on campus and want to eat poke. Most of the food I get here is tasty, though nothing special (I'm not really picky when it comes to poke), and there is some indoor and outdoor seating you can use. The only thing that would probably stop me from returning is the raise in price, as the small bowl is now almost worth as much as a regular bowl used to be. I'm not sure what caused this to happen, but because of that it would probably be easier to get it from another place if you're not in a rush and have time to travel further.“
“I had a craving for a lunch plate so we decided to go to Ohana Hawaiian BBQ.We ordered #4-Hawaiian BBQ chicken and fried shrimp. The chicken was grilled perfectly and the shrimp was crispy and onolicious. Also, the mac salad was great too. It didn't have too much mayo...wish i had more scoops. ?“
“I love coming here for food after doing my full-time job for lunch or a good meal. I am now a writer on Medium.com that cover software engineering and other technology and business subject matters. It is a very solid place to get a quick bite before heading into a company board meeting or something like that. They also have a rewards program where I was accumulating a lot of points and I was able to get by with meals for almost a full month later on.They offer a lot of Japanese choices for topping and sauces and three rice base (white and brown and sushi) with four options of fish (miso, salmon primarily). They also offer a brown bag to take out as an option.“
“The food is delicious... the portions are big. For me, I have to share, I can't finish it alone. The BBQ meat is big... plus rice and macaroni or salad. The chicken katsu is also delicious...I'm satisfied here. The place is not too big but there is space for eating inside.“
“TLDR: their pasta straws are gluten freeCame here for breakfast during a layover.I had the avocado toast and it was tasty, bread was good and avocado was fresh.Francisco, our server, was so nice and took great care of us.My husband has celiac disease, a severe gluten allergy, so he just ordered a Coke. Upon drinking some of it he realized the straw was not plastic and we asked Fransisco what it was made of. He said it’s made of pasta. Ekkkk! We asked Fransisco for a glass of water so my husband could quickly take a couple charcoal pills. He did and then called corporate who checked and confirmed they are actually gluten free! Whew. It was a relief to know my husband didn’t get glutened from that one sip.Even better, to ensure there are no similar scares in the future Fransisco told us they are making a sign to hang in the back so that all staff are aware the pasta straws are gluten free. Will return next time we are in the San Jose airport.“
“This is definitely one of the best authentic Hawaiian food that you can get here in the Bay Area. They work in a ghost kitchen, which means it isn't a restaurant. You order through their website and select a time for pickup. They only operate on Thursday-Saturday with time slots for pickup being very limited. I recommend ordering at least a week before you plan to pickup because there won't be available times if you order the week of.Hawaiian Garlic Shrimp: I am so amazed by how this tastes. Those who have went to Hawaii, this is the closest thing to Giovanni's Shrimp Truck in Hawaii. The shrimp is cooked to perfection and there is TONS of garlic. This is a must get!!!Original Spam Musubi: Great meat to rice ratio. They put big pieces of spam inside so every bite is flavorful. The spam is cooked with a tangy sweet sauce, which is how it is supposed to be everywhere.Chicken Katsu Musubi: The chicken is so tender! Skin of the chicken is crispy and the pickled cabbage tops it all off. The cabbage gives a nice crunch and refreshing taste to balance out the fried taste with the chicken katsu.“
