“Service and vibes here get 5 stars! Everyone working was super friendly and welcoming (and hilarious). It's a causal vibe bar, but was kid-friendly during dinner time. The food here is good, it's solid. They offer appetizers, bowls, and more. My favorite items were the lumpia and the bayrito! The bayrito is huge and packed full of tots and meat (I had the kalua pork). The bowls were all good looking and the portions are generous. Overall, a solid spot for bar-like food.“
“Closest to Hawaiian poke in the area. Really fresh and flavorful. A bit pricey for the amount of stuff given. Every time I've been there the employees aren't very welcoming but it's a quick grab and go place. No inside dining.“
“First time to a Hukilau since the Palo Alto & SF restaurants closed. There's a bar at the front of thea long hallway to the dining area. Food was as good as I remember it was but the atmosphere in the dining area wasn't as good as it was at the other restaurants. I'd say the lighting made it feel like an old coffee shop“
“This is our go-to spot for Hawaiian food. Parking here could be a pain depending on the hour you go, The staff is really friendly and fast. Got the protein plate with less carbs. This is plenty of food and enough to feed 2 people. They also have different types of masubi. This is a great, affordable spot to get a quick meal if you're in the area“
“Stopped by for a later lunch on our way to the Pumpkin Patch! Love that all the toppings and sides are included in the price! The fish options are all really good. Really liked the spicy versions of the fish too! They were generous with the portions! I probably could have made it a second meal! So glad we got to try it out and will be coming back again!“
“I have been craving Hawaiian food. I looked around and could not find anything open because it was late evening. Ono was open and near closing, but the staff happily assisted me with my order and gave me solid ordering advice to decide what I wanted to eat. Thanks to team members like the ones at Ono’s, I can enjoy my meals knowing I made a good decision on my food choice.“
“I went with my son. We both got rice bowls. I got mine with crab and shrimp because I didn't want raw fish. I also got a lot of toppings, like corn, seaweed, cucumber, mushroom, and crunchy onions. My son got sushi and crab. We both enjoyed our food. I also got coconut milk to drink.“
“I went Friday 8/17/23 and the service was great. The woman taking orders was friendly and very efficient... wow! I ordered the BBQ and Chicken & fried fish combo for abt $16 and it was cooked perfectly. Nice portions. More than I can eat in one sitting so I made two meals out of it. The place is just simple table and chairs, but serves its purpose.“
“Solid spot for Hawaiian bbq- a good amount of seating inside, you order and pick up your food at the counter. Very casual dining, located in the Village Oaks plaza near a lot of other food and shops.I got the seafood meat combo with garlic fish and BBQ chicken- loved both types of meat and subbed the rice and mac for steamed veggies. Amazing portion sizes, super filling!“
“This junk food junkie loved my first ever bowl. And it was vegan and gluten free so I can't even believe how awesome it was. I ordered the pineapple teriyaki cauliflower bowl with no bell peppers and added mushrooms instead and absolutely everything was delicious! I ordered it served with the sesame scallion rice and I can't even believe how much I loved that rice!It was a really big portion and totally filled me up. I couldn't even finish the sweet potato salad, which was also really good. I thought I would be hungry because there was no meat in my meal but nope. Totally happy and ready for a nap. Wish my boss would let me take one LOL!I found them through GrubHub and the meal arrived nice and warm. I will definitely be ordering Lulu bowls again!“
“This place hit all the attributes for an amazing quick lunch spot. The saff was friendly. Being my 1st time visiting the menu was in front of me which made it easy to make my decisions quickly. Over all very satisfying. Would definitely visit again and soon!“
“Excuse meee?! Hot cheeto sushi burrito . Absolutely love this idea! I been here like 3xs and its great. The fact we can customize our own sushi burrito like poke is amazing. I got their special limited taki blue heat masubi. The size of the burritos are full filling. They offer fries, boba, hot dogs, quesadillas, and etc. I order online and its always ready on time. Its also clean inside and they have a tv while you wait.“
“Really nice little poke place. Worker was extremely nice and helpful in explaining whatever questions I had. $15 for 3 scoops is a really good steal compared to other places I've frequented which cost more and/or had limited topping selections for their price. Will come again if I'm ever craving poke !“
“Spoonfish Poke is a convenient place to go to if you're on campus and want to eat poke. Most of the food I get here is tasty, though nothing special (I'm not really picky when it comes to poke), and there is some indoor and outdoor seating you can use. The only thing that would probably stop me from returning is the raise in price, as the small bowl is now almost worth as much as a regular bowl used to be. I'm not sure what caused this to happen, but because of that it would probably be easier to get it from another place if you're not in a rush and have time to travel further.“
“I love coming here for food after doing my full-time job for lunch or a good meal. I am now a writer on Medium.com that cover software engineering and other technology and business subject matters. It is a very solid place to get a quick bite before heading into a company board meeting or something like that. They also have a rewards program where I was accumulating a lot of points and I was able to get by with meals for almost a full month later on.They offer a lot of Japanese choices for topping and sauces and three rice base (white and brown and sushi) with four options of fish (miso, salmon primarily). They also offer a brown bag to take out as an option.“
“The food is delicious... the portions are big. For me, I have to share, I can't finish it alone. The BBQ meat is big... plus rice and macaroni or salad. The chicken katsu is also delicious...I'm satisfied here. The place is not too big but there is space for eating inside.“
“Came here on a rowdy night during a bar crawl. I've passed by this spot a lot on nights out downtown but it always looked crowded, loud, and a bit musty. Luckily it was emptier on the Friday that my friends and I came in. They had deals on their mango daiquiris (?) which weren't too thin but also not too strong. The staff was friendly when we ordered. There was decent space for a dance floor and the music was fine for Bay Area hip hop vibes. All in all I think it was a worthwhile bar crawl stop with space to dance and drinkable drinks but I wouldn't fight tooth and nail to wait in a line for it. Not sure if there's themed nights but it does seem to be a downtown favorite for some!“
“I enjoyed a very tasty soup I ordered. I was quite happy to be full and it was very easy on the stomach not bad for a first time here. Place is nice and clean doubles as a donut shop in the same space. Good service worker at the register. Answered one of my, I guess crazy questions it was answered I was kinda embarrassed to come out of no where. I was lead here from the street. I was walking in the side walk heading to the light. When suddenly I smelled a wonderful aroma of BBQ. So I followed my nose till I just walked right in after looking at the menu they had on the window. Made my selection and win for us good. Guys who live on one ramen soup a day. This was like an upgrade power up win! I'm out come here just follow your nose.“
“I had Hawaiian BBQ before but first time at Ono. Generally, I had a good experience and I'm open to come back.I got- A plate of Hawaiian BBQ mix (which is a mix of beef, pork and chicken). It comes with rice & macaroni salad. It's pretty good. I like the flavors of all the meat. I like pork most, then chicken then beef. I like cabbage too but I wish it has less oil.- A side of salad: I like the dressing that comes with the salad, helps balance the meal.- Young coconut: decent. You can't use the plastic spoon to scoop out the meat but if you go home and use a silver spoon, you can. It looks thick but it's surprisingly not hard. It's probably still better if it's a little bit thinner though. My friend got the plate with seafood mix which came with fried shrimps, fried white fish and chicken. I tried it and the plate I got was better.Service was good. The receptionist was friendly and willing to answer all of my questions.“
“TLDR: their pasta straws are gluten freeCame here for breakfast during a layover.I had the avocado toast and it was tasty, bread was good and avocado was fresh.Francisco, our server, was so nice and took great care of us.My husband has celiac disease, a severe gluten allergy, so he just ordered a Coke. Upon drinking some of it he realized the straw was not plastic and we asked Fransisco what it was made of. He said it’s made of pasta. Ekkkk! We asked Fransisco for a glass of water so my husband could quickly take a couple charcoal pills. He did and then called corporate who checked and confirmed they are actually gluten free! Whew. It was a relief to know my husband didn’t get glutened from that one sip.Even better, to ensure there are no similar scares in the future Fransisco told us they are making a sign to hang in the back so that all staff are aware the pasta straws are gluten free. Will return next time we are in the San Jose airport.“
“Casual hawaiian eatery located in the Maplewood Plaza. Bright space with wooden chairs and tables inside, and a few tables outside too. Employee took my order at the front counter (standard service), though there's a self-order kiosk as well. Order was ready in 5-10 minutes, no other customers at the time. Got the mini loco moco, and the meat, gravy, mac salad, everything was flavorful and satisfying... the mini size was sufficient for a filling meal. Based on taste, I'd say this would be one of my top 2 hawaiian spots in the south bay.“
