“This is everything a Vietnamese sandwich shop should be. #1 or #3, iced coffee, a produce box on top of a milk crate for seating, and soap operas on the tele. It's a food stall. Nothing more, nothing less. Walked out of there with 3 Bahn Mis, iced coffee, and a soda for $25 (not including tip; don't forget to tip). Actually, I walked out without anything because...soaps operas. Just left with a memory of what I wish I had at home“
“Not gonna lie... this Vietnamese cafe serving up pho as well as some other small and special dishes came up on my radar because I saw some fellow Yelpers go to an event here. The food looked/ sounded amazing and it's not too far from where I'm working at the moment. The service here is friendly and the decor /vibe feels and looks like a modern Vietnamese restaurant or cafe. I was really tempted to order the pho here, but opted for the butterfly pea sticky rice (or Xoi Thap Cam) instead. From the pictures, the dish looked beautiful and it's something I haven't had at Vietnamese restaurants in a long time. Also, I think I've had pho a few times around that time...(it's been cold) I also ordered the Bluegrass Lemonade to wash it down. The sticky rice dish had lots of delicious flavors and textures from all the different items. Such a fun dish that's presented very well and a delicious alternative to what probably gets ordered most here (the pho). Don't get me wrong, I definitely want to come back to try their pho as well, but was so happy to try the dish that I ordered. Place is located in a tiny lot/strip mall that was pretty close to a freeway. They have their own parking, but it might get tight. I think there may be street parking close by.“
“Worth the wait. I avoided the wait as I went before the lunch rush on a Saturday morning. Around 10:45am. Their broth is clean, light but flavorful. It was not overly sweet like some places. The eggrolls were the rice paper kind and not the wonton type. It was super crispy and right amt of chewy. Spring rolls were equally delicious. Found meter parking outside. Would definitely return.“
“My go-to spot in Chinatown Los Angeles for Pho!Very quick prompt service. This place tends to get filled with hungry, happy customers pretty rapidly.Don't worry, just tell them your party size and they'll get to you sooner rather than later. IT'S DEFINITELY WORTH THE WAIT! With quick service, you'll be seated in no time.I've been coming here since, like 2012.There is street parking and some parking lots around. So you have the luxury of choosing your perfered parking. Basically, there's free parking and paid parking all around the restaurant.Treat your stuff to some amazing Pho, and lasty, don't forget about the spring rolls with peanut sauce for appetizers !My girlfriend is vegetarian, so she ordered #22 on the menu: vegetarian tofu with rice noodles or egg noodles. Size small or regularI ordered the #15: well done brisket, fatty brisket, tendon, and tripe. Size largeWe prefer to get the rice noodles!Vegetarian options: #22 on the menu is vegetarian tofu with rice noodle or egg noodle Pho“
“Wow!!!! Hands down my new favorite Vietnamese restaurant. Their beef pho is delicious? and out of this world. I’ve been a big fan of pho ? and have been eating this dish for years just about everywhere I travel to when I’m out of state or in the mood for it here in the city. This is my new favorite spot for pho. Wish I can give them 10 stars because they deserve it.“
“A bit pricey, but it's an excellent Pho restaurant. Food are really delicious ? Parking might be difficult. Tiny plaza with narrow parking spaces. But people come and go quickly... I took out 1 ⭐ for their parkings. Really hate their parking.“
“Came around dinner time and there were no tables inside so we had to wait for a table. We stood for around 5 minutes before we got a table. The restaurant is small so I could see why it took a while to be seated. However, since the store is small, we ended up getting a table right by their side entrance door so we felt cold wind every time someone entered or exited. This made our dining experience not as enjoyable since it was a pretty chilly night so the wind was cold and interrupted the meal.We ordered the Filet Mignon Pho (15.5) and Shabu Shabu Style Beef Pho (15.5). They were served pretty fast which was good. The noodles and soup were alright, nothing super special from other pho places I have been too. The beef quality for both pho noodles we got were pretty good though. The meat wasn't tough to chew and was easy to bite and swallow. The shabu shabu style beef was nice and unique as well. It made the pho experience different than others. The portions are very generous though for the price. I could have shared it with another person because there was a lot of noodles.Overall, the pho here is pretty average and the only unqiue thing is their shabu shabu style pho option. Their service is also just normal, you have to go to the cashier to pay for your table at the end of the meal. I would recommend just coming here for a try.“
“We almost drove right by the restaurant because there was no sign, but fortunately we found our way in to the cozy bungalow dining room. We ordered the turmeric fish hotpot which was full of flavor with crispy rice and soft flavor fish that was amazing. Everything else we ordered did not disappoint--the watercress salad with beef was fresh and tender, steamed rice cakes with shredded shrimp and taro root crispy rolls were unique spins on traditional dishes that were really shareable and delicious. Definitely will come back!“
“We wanted something healthy but flavorful for dinner and happened upon this place in the neighborhood, pretty no frills on the inside. Clearly a big focus on deliveries, but there's plenty of tables. We each got a steak banh mi and WOW was it good! So much flavor, and the bread was perfect; hard enough to hold it together, but easy to bite into. The crispy spring rolls were perfect as well, clearly freshly made and decently sized. We also split some noodles and were pleasantly surprised by the portion sizes. Definitely will be back.“
“I have mixed feelings about this place. While it has been my go to spot on rainy days this past season, it's been a hit or miss. Sometimes it's like the best pho ever and other times the meat is really undercooked and the broth wasn't hot enough to cook it further which resulted in a rather rubbery experience. All in all, I think I will continue to come back as everything else was enjoyable.“
“This is an INCREDIBLE place! I love the beef noodles, eggplants, tofu, the fish, the chicken, the desert, etc!! We had a blast eating, hanging out, chatting, and the food added so many enjoyable layers to our conversations on Oscars, filmmaking, art, and beyond! THANK YOU ALL for making our afternoon and evening and giving us energy to keep going and pursuing our dreams???☀️?Kid-friendliness: Very friendly!;)“
“I've been a Banh Mi My Tho customer for like a decade now. Its been cool seeing them expand besides the Alhambra location. I came here for a quick meal and ordered a few bahn mi. About 5 minutes later, my order was ready and it was as delicious as always.“
“Visited on a Friday night around 8pm.Ambiance is really nice and perfect for a date night. The staff was so friendly and the restaurant is picturesque. We ordered the following:Salt and Peppered Paella (living): 4/5Yucca Friend Pho Beef Everything was so good!!! They have so many options and the waitress was really helpful in providing recommendations. The servings are huge! I honestly can’t wait to go back.Highly recommend!! FYI no alcohol is served there but they have really fun drinks and teas!“
“Always making great tasting food. I love this place. They also have great lunch prices during lunch up to 3:45 pm. Grab a few boxes for family dinner?everyone loves the variety of food. Help support great restaurant Rosemead, Temple city area. So happy when they moved from Valley Blvd and San Gabriel to their new location on Rosemead Blvd and Lower Azusa Rd in Rosemead. I had to give them a shout out.“
“This is where my mom would get banh mis for us when I was little and I just recently re-discovered them! The #1 Thit Nguoi or cold cuts is my version of THEE traditional banh mi. There's no where else you need to go. The fresh bread is crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside. When you order, you can choose from the football shape or the baguette shaped bread. Scratch pate, cold cuts, daikon, carrots, cilantro, and thinly shaved jalapeños. Service is straightforward and fast! Corner store vibes but Vietnamese :) Parking is also plentiful. Ugh my heart is so happy!!“
“I love this place. I've been going since I was a little kid (that was 20+ years ago). The staff and service is always so friendly and attentive. I love their Bún Chả Giò Chay. It's my regular order! They have a solid selection of Vegan Vietnamese food and very affordable prices. If you're looking for real Vietnamese Vegan food, this is the spot!“
“This is officially my favorite pho spot! Went about four times in a span of two weeks, and took my best friend for his first ever time trying this food! He loved it! And he's super picky, so I know it must've been really good lolThe place is really small and cute, and service has always been great, only once I went in, and was told oh, sit wherever you want, and then, when I did, they moved me to a smaller table, because the bigger tables were for big groups only, but then a group of two walked in when we were still there, they sat them in the same table we had attempted to sit, so that wasn't that great, but I don't want to put the blame on the location, because again the food is great and every other time I've gone to service has been amazing. Will definitely be returning soon.“
“This place has the best pho in the area handsThe customer service is dopeThe owner is always very welcoming and his recommendations always hit the spotThere’s endless veggies for your phoI love this place always but best for rainy daysI definitely recommend this spotParking: There’s street parking and public parking lots in the behind areas of pacific , how everI’ve always found street parking right up front of the spot or within a couple of feetKid-friendliness: Yes it’s kid friendlyThe owner is very friendly and accommodating“
“I loved this place! They forgot to put tofu in the spring rolls but no matter, they were delicious. The soup broth was a little bland. I added some soy sauce which helped. The topping of fresh mint, bean sprouts, etc. made this meal refreshing. Updated from previous review on 2023-10-24“
“Wait for a table was fine, didn't take that long. The interior was very nice and clean. Food was yummy. Only complaint that I have is that all of the food didnt arrive at the same time. One person in my group got the pho and got it by the time most of us were almost done eating.Parking: Even though it's free parking for the lot, it's really small. I recommend parking in the street and walking over to save time.“
“The parking structure right behind it can get pretty packed, but we have never had trouble parking there during prime dinner time. We have also never waited to be seated here, although the restaurant is quite bustling. Service is polite and very quick. If you are hungry, come here as your food comes out fast. The soup tastes light, but flavorful. Compared to other pho restaurants in the area, I feel like the broth does not rely on seasonings as much for flavor. They are also generous with the meat in the soups. The large doesn't look much larger than the medium, but it actually is. I can easily finish a medium soup, but cannot finish the large at all.The inside is clean and casual, with minimal decor. Perfect for a quick, casual meal with friends.“
“Love this place! Best Banh Xeo around with a uniquely crunchy outer shell and the most beautiful assortment of perfectly fresh and delicious greens. Costs more, but it's definitely worth it. The atmosphere is exactly as it should be... you know you're paying for tasty, authentic food, not fancy decor. Will definitely be back!“
“Tay Ho in San Gabriel impressed with their Banh Cuon Set - classic steamed rice crepes with delicious fillings like pork & mushroom rolls and crispy shrimp fritters. Their grilled meat sets are similar, featuring BBQ pork or grilled ham. The lemongrass chicken in Bun was flavorful and refreshing. They also offer unique drinks like Pandan Coffee and delicious Che Ba Mau desserts. Great spot for quick, authentic Vietnamese food!“
“Pescatarian/ vegetarian options! I was surprised I got through on telephone to ask about their menu options. Whoever answered the phone had great customer service and was patient and hospitable with my takeout order. Parking lot was a bit stressful and tight space wise. Some of the best Vietnamese I’ve had in the Los Angeles area though !Vegetarian options: Banh mi“
“Nice local Vietnamese restaurant that I've come to a few times. Staff is a friendly and the food was quite delicious! I had some beef spring rolls and a vermicelli dish with meatballs. Both were very good and I had to bring one of the spring rolls home as it was a lot of food. Would recommend trying it out if you're craving some Vietnamese cuisine.“
“I love this place so much!! The prices are reasonable. You can make your pho a large for a small price. The fried shrimp egg rolls came out hot and fresh.FYI - they put the rare steak into the pho rather than on the side. If you want your meat rare then ask for it on the side.“
“Always such a great meal here. Duck soup is hard to come by and this place always delivers. The owners are very friendly and knowledgeable about their craft. My family goes here at least once a week! Highly recommended. Their portion is big and price is good too!“
“My husband and I try all of the different bánh mì places in San Gabriel Valley. The sandwiches here are a great although I wouldn’t say they’re necessarily the absolute best, they’re definitely top-tier what I really liked with some of the other stuff they offered like the pork meatballs, and some of the other skewer items. It reminds me of the food I ate growing up in Thailand, and I really love the southeast Asian food it’s very authentic and taste great.“
“Small gem found when looking for lunch when attending conference at Convention Center. I ordered plain Pho and Veggie eggrolls . They were both yummy, and the Chili oil was delicious. The place was decorated with a child's drawings . The drawings were so cute I just would suggested for them to be framed so they could be preserved. If I'm ever in Pasadena again . I will definitely stop by again.“
“I have a new favorite Vietnam place :D the server is super cool :D the food is just so tasty :D I love it I will come back, yes :DDelicious food, excellent service :D I recommend it without a doubt, it is an excellence :D tasty :D and delicious and I want more :D“
“Delicious papaya salad, lemon grass beef noodles and the rice rolls!! Freaking scrumptious! The chef at this restaurant is the BOMB! Whomever it is knows the art to cooking delicious meals. We promise to always keep you in business. Pleas stay the course during this nutty pandemic. We need food like Little Sisters to keep our souls alive! Ps- we miss their poppin music! And yes we are “down with the OPP and the BIG”“
“Huong Bac is a quintessential "hole-in-the-wall" eatery that surpassed our expectations during a recent out-of-state visit. Craving authentic Banh Cuon led us to this hidden gem.Despite our late arrival—merely 15 minutes before closing time— the lady welcomed us with open arms, allowing us to place our order. We opted for the #9 Banh Cuon Dac Biet and #12 Bun Rieu, eagerly anticipating our meal in the cozy ambiance of the small dining area. The kitchen was bustling, with the gentleman wrapping what seemed to be freshly made Gio Lua.The aroma of sweet and sour fish sauce wafted through the air, a hallmark of genuine Vietnamese cuisine. The wait was about 20 minutes, as the lady needed to boil water anew for our noodles and steam the Banh Cuon. She apologized for the delay, though we insisted it was our oversight for arriving late.Tasting the Banh Cuon at our hotel room was revelatory. The rice rolls were thin, the batter didn't make the banh cuon "cakey" nor runny, it maintains a delightful stretchiness. The seasoning of the meat and mushrooms was spot-on, with the addition of meat floss and fried onions enhancing the aroma. The Gio Lua boasted a pleasant chewiness without being mushy. However, the real standout was the house-made sweet and sour chili fish sauce—a masterful blend that added an explosive burst of sweet, tangy, and spicy flavors that I fell in love with their banh cuon instantly. As I'm writing this, I haven't had the chance to try the Bun Rieu yet because I was eager to share my exceptional experience with the Banh Cuon. It was so memorable that I felt compelled to write this review immediately. If I ever return to the area, Huong Bac will definitely be on my must-visit list!“
“This place is the bomb!! Will be my togo place for a bowl of delicious SeaFood Wonton Noodle. The noodles were chewy, fresh perfectly cooked. The seafood and wonton were perfectly prepared and tasty. Have to give the wonton a perfect 10. We also had their Hai Nam chicken rice, which was also delicious. The place is so clean, servers were super attentive. This place beats Kim Ky by a mile. Will definitely come back.“
“Literally, my sister and I have been on a pho binge and we got to try château lemongrass on Friday night. We arrived around 8 PM and there was plenty of seating available. We are promptly served and we were able to order the vegetable pho and the rare steak pho. I thought the pho was very good and the soup was very flavorful. Lots of street parking is available and they also have outdoor seating as well.“
“This unassuming restaurant in the entrance of a supermarket is a hidden gem. Found it looking for Bo Luc Lac in the LA area and found it via Instagram review than made me want to drive all the way from Long Beach and I was not disappointed, as they serve one of the better Luc Lac, tender and well balanced on sauce and pepper. Their medium is more well done than medium so adapt your request based on that. The rest of the dishes are also very well executed, fresh and flavorful. The service is efficient and friendly while attentive.Well worth a trip if you Are not close, you will not be disappointed.Parking: Parking is busy“
“They are really nice here. The young female cashier is very precise and the food is made with love and skill. Plus the hot chili crisp oil they sell is sooo good. The Batch X will make you cry and I love it. Looking forward to trying everything on the menu!“
“Downtown LA Pho stands out as the perfect spot if you crave authentic Vietnamese Pho right in the heart of the financial district of DTLA. The pho and soup base boast delightful flavors. The staff is exceptionally friendly, providing great service, and the portion sizes are satisfying. However, it's crucial to manage expectations and avoid comparing the food here to the offerings in San Gabriel Valley or Little Saigon area. -1 star for the pricing, but considering the prime location and convenience, it's understandable. I'll certainly return when in the financial district of DTLA and in the mood for Pho.Quick tip: You can find Downtown LA Pho inside the City National Plaza's food court, located on the bottom floor of the plaza.“
“great food. we ordered phở for a cool late morning & sat outside so it was perfect. this is northern vnese style phở (which is just a little salty for my taste) but I appreciate the clear & not overly spiced broth. it's a straight forward & authentically honest bowl of phở. there are fresh spices, good quality beef & super tender meat fall-of-the-bone pork ribs. so good & so satisfying. vnse coffee (café sữa đá) is also right on the money! btw, for those who need it, you can load the soup up with siracchia & have a perfect hangover-buster ? you're welcome ? service is prompt & friendly - price is decent but not cheap. all in all, a winner for local norwalk & neighboring city. we'll definitely be back & highly recommend pho anvi. we need to keep good businesses around for fellow foodies.“
“When craving for some bun and rolls, this is a great place to be. I like their open-air seating arrangements when dining here. I always order Charbroiled Lemongrass Beef w / Shrimp Egg Rolls, hits the spot for me. Portion wise it’s really good. Their Summer Rolls are also filling, but on the pricier side.“
“Delicious pho - the pho dac biet is perfect. Really clean tasting broth, bright and refreshing. Healthy serving of sides for the pho. Great viet iced coffee. All of the meats in the combination pho are good quality, including the tendon and tripe. All in all it's everything a pho joint should be - fast service, great food, good prices.“
“Than Huu makes an excellent Bahn Mi. The baguette is perfect, the ingredients are simple and fresh and there are basically two items on the menu. Bahn Mi and soup; the do have a drink and tea menu as well. The service is very kind, friendly and gracious. Than Huu does have little stools and tables in the middle of an asian bazaar in Chinatown.“
“I have been wanting to try Newport Seafood & we went for my birthday.Great quality food & service. Very comfortable homely feeling. We are looking to come back with a larger group so we can order more things. The portions are large. We ended up getting the Newport crab which I think is a great value compared to the lobster. You can also add noodles to it for $10.Followed that by salt and pepper. Shrimp we picked this one because you get the whole shrimp and the head which I really enjoy.Beef loc lac was our closing.Don't forget to get the tea very inexpensive and a great addition to this wonderful meal.“
“Ordered takeout today, great service! Amazingly fresh and clean veggies. I had requested chopsticks and they forgot, they called me an offer to drive it to me. Wasn’t necessary, but the fact that they went out of their way, meant a lot! My mom is a patient at City of Hope, which is nearby and I called them to ask if they can please clean the vegetables extra because of her chemotherapy status and they were more than happy to oblige. 7 courses of beef is super special for Vietnamese people, happy to support this amazing local biz!“
“We stopped in 30 min before they closed. I was skeptical about the quality of the food to be ordered. However, everything turned out great and tasted fantastic, just like homemade. The servers were really patient and kind regardless of the fact that they were about to close for the day. In some other places, I would have the feeling that I am being rushed to order, to finish my meal and to pay. However, not at this place.“
“Enjoyed the pho and bahn mi. Spring rolls were large and tasty too. Not the best Vietnamese I’ve had, but good. The shop seems like it’s run by a bunch of Vietnamese grandmas so you do have kind of a home style/mom and pop vibe. I would say if the food were ~$4 cheaper it would be better value.“
“Wow! This small restaurant is packed of flavors! The atmosphere is inviting and charming. Our waiter was attentive, quick and efficient. The wait for food did not take long at all. I love that the menu was simple. There are rice plate, noodle and appetizers options. We had the Banh xeo. The plate came with 3 crispy mini Banh Xeo and served with a plate of fresh greens for wrapping. The noodles were bomb! The bun mam was so tasty. The broth had a hint of sweetness and a fermented fish taste. I love the pepper stuffed with Cha. Oh and the veggies that is served with the bun nam have a crunch to every bite. The pho was surprisingly good too. The broth was rich and flavorful. However, I do wish they serve the nuoc beo - onion oil. The rice plate was decent too. The flavor of the grilled meat was yummy. I would definitely come back here again! Try the bun mam!!“
“This little Vietnamese joint is a real gem. Their banh mi xiu mai is my fav - imagine soft bread hugging tasty meatballs with a burst of flavors in every bite. Plus, everything else on their menu is just as good. The vibe is cozy, the staff is friendly - it's the perfect spot for a tasty meal that hits the spot.“
“We always order the crispy egg rolls, shrimp spring rolls and pho with brisket and filet mignon. The peanut sauce is the perfect compliment to the spring rolls as is the sweet sauce to the egg rolls. The pho, with the added vegetables, is so filling and relaxing. This has been a family favorite for about 5 years now.“
“I can't remember how I found Nha Trang Restaurant, maybe it was an online review or a reddit recommendation but they were absolutely right on the quality of Vietnamese food here. The best Bún bò Huế noodles we've ever had. The pork blood tofu was plump like a water balloon, fresh and nearly tasteless - no hint of blood at all. The noodles a round rice noodle and the spiciness was light.Weekends offer the Pho Ga, chicken pho. Slightly sweet with medium wide rice noodles. Tender chicken, possibly poached and then shredded slightly.Did I mention the free complimentary fried pork spring rolls hot from the fryer? Delicious.Service was cordial. The atmosphere was inviting.“
“First time and decided for takeout, as there's not much room for eating. The menu was pretty big with sandwiches "Banhmi", Pho, BBQ with rice and Chowmien, so worried that the food was going to be mediocre - BUT surprise that the 3 different dishes we ordered and egg rolls was just yum. We'll be ordering again.“
