Makes me feel like I am back in Mexico at my favorite taqueria. I come here once a week for lunch and it always hits the spot. I love the californiana style quesadillas - such a bang for the buck. The Califas taco is like a mini “sincronizada” and it is such a tasty take on how to serve up a taco. CANNOT MISS: the barbacoa. Only place I have found in the Bay that serves up homestyle barbacoa like this - not fatty and full of flavor. “First time at this place. Was at the nearby Walmart, searched for Chile Verde, and this place showed up under the former name (Greenland Market). After reading reviews I felt this was the spot for me on this day. I'm glad I went with my instinct.Disclaimer, having only been here once I can only review what I had but I have high hopes for the other things after talking to someone who might be the boss.I had the Chile Verde plate and it was excellent. This is a standard dish I order at every place and use it to gauge whether I return or not. This place knocked it out of the park. Unlike most places that simply stew the pork, this place uses what must be their carnitas. It has that roasted flavor and the meat is succulent and super tender. The rice has good flavor, the salsa they provide has a kick, tortillas were tender and hot.I live about 45 minutes from this place but I will drive all the way here when I am not willing to compromise, and want great, not just good, Chile Verde.“
“SOOO GOOD!! We got the shrimp burrito, al pastor torta, and tried the seafood soup. LOVED everything — the burrito was filling and had amazingly fresh avocado, the seafood was super fresh, and the bread for the torta was sooo good. “Husband craving a burrito but saw fish instead. Mojarra Frita. It was a fried tilapia with rice and beans, side salad and tortillas. It was large enough for us to share and make 5 tacos. The condiments at the bar made it even more flavorful along with chips and salsa. A nice lunch reminiscent of a recent Baja trip.“
“My fiancé and I enjoy coming here! This location has a nice atmosphere with a large interior, a nice outdoor space with fire heaters, as well as a bar inside.I have only tried a few food items here, but have always enjoyed getting the protein bowls (pictured is the “Mexican Grill” bowl with shrimp from tonight).Some of the cocktails are tasty as well. We recommend trying one or both of the cocktails with passion fruit.Just wanted to throw a positive review out there since we’ve been here at least five times now, and I got a couple nice photos of our food today! ?“
