“This year (2024) the dining room has a new chef, and some new decor, and it is incredible! Hands down one of the best restaurants in the Tahoe area. Unique menu, we had dinner and then came back for breakfast and ate eggs benedict with short ribs. The even have an in house espresso bar. It's best to go if you're staying in the hotel, at one of the homes, or enjoying a nice day at the resort, since you do have to take a gondola or walk in. It's a truly special space with a mid century modern feel, and all the details well thought out. Highly recommend!”

“Little Truckee Ice Creamery made our wedding cake, and it was absolutely perfect! We loved how gorgeous the ice cream cake was, and appreciated Kenny’s attention to detail with our decorating requests. Our guests LOVED it! This is some of the best ice cream we have ever had and could tell that it was fresh and made with quality ingredients. I highly recommend getting an ice cream cake from Little Truckee Ice Creamery, and I hope we have the pleasure of visiting the store when we return to Tahoe.”

“I absolutely love this place! My family and i always have such a nice time. The staff are really nice and the food is so good! I get the crab benedict and honestly it's the best, you also can't forget the mimosas! On the weekends the wait is long but as long as you're with great company it flies by. My dad did want to say the pancakes can get a little dry but honestly it's a wonderful place to have breakfast/lunch! Will be going again very soon!”

“We were stuck on 80 for hours last night. We stopped in for food and a potty break. The kind lady up front was an awesome one woman show. Juggling the phone calls, register, dining room, kitchen and all the customers/chaos with a smile. She was only serving slices because of the volume of folks stopping in from the slow traffic on 80 and being the only one there. The pizza was fantastic, we went back for thirds! You can taste that the dough and sauce is homemade. Our kid loved that there were a bunch of games to play. 10/10 customer service, 10/10 food will definitely be back.Kid-friendliness: Lots of games for the kids”

“After experiencing an incredibly rude interaction by the owners of the nearby Smokey’s place, I decided to walk over to the Truckee Food Shop and grab a roasted half chicken with vegetables and Caesar salad. The owner was probably the most pleasant person I’ve dealt with in a very long time. And the food was great! I went on my home to Sacramento area but stopped at the lookout on the old Donner Summit Road. I enjoyed my meal with the wonderful scenery in front of me. It was nice and much better than dealing with that rude old old lady at Smokey’s.”

“We had a wonderful quiet birthday celebration at The Lodge main dinning room. The food was superb! I had the Alaska Halibut and my birthday boy had the Venison. We shared a Caesar salad topped with that lovely crisp fried parmesan. Everything from the delicious cocktails to the final bite was terrific. The service was good, the room is nice. My other friend also happened to order an enchilada. The waiters were a little inattentive at times, but we got a lot of water refills. “We sat at the bar at Sandy's pub last night for dinner and drinks and had a great time. Service was fast and friendly! The grilled cheese and soup was to die for! Highly recommend! The burger was good too and cooked perfectly! Great selection of draft beers! Sit at the bar!”

“I visited River Ranch on my ski trip out West from NYC. I went with 4 other friends of mine and we had a nice dinner. The service took a little while to first attend to us when we sat down such as getting water or acknowledging us. But, we had a nice time. Everyone enjoyed their meals and my lamb shank was super amazing. I also had the best sweet potato maple cheesecake in my life here. It was close to the mountain where we stayed and I would return given the opportunity.”

“Solid pizza joint up in Truckee. I loved going to the place in Tahoe City long ago when I would head to night skiing at now-Palisades Tahoe and head back to my friend's house with an appetite the size of the village. Now they have a spot in Truckee with slices made to order and some of the requisite games on site to play. Super cute spot, good food, even when my order has been not quite what I placed it's still good. Would love to see expanded options for alcoholic drinks like ciders instead of just beers. The non-alcoholic options are damn good, they have tons of various Mexican sodas. Service has always been great - friendly and timely. Definitely a staple spot.”

“The Lodge staff has really hit their stride and the extra half dozen feet did the base (and the length of the season) good. The chef and his sous are on fire. We finally have a regular order after a few runs through the menu: Steelhead Duck l'Orange Steak Tartare Carrot harissa salad And the Sticky (Toffee) Pudding But we will continue to come here for the service and the people. “We had breakfast here - full buffet. The options were good and mostly fresh (sometimes pastries were a bit stale, maybe our late morning breakfast). Cereal bar, porridge station, dumplings, pastries. There were 4 hot items: fried rice, bacon, potatoes, waffles/pancakes. There's also an omelette station. Overall pretty decent, food tasted pretty average, but good selection. Service was net neutral for us. One day we had a great server who was very attentive, and the next day we had someone who didn't seem like they wanted to be there. Came by to get us drinks once and the next time was to ask if we were ready for the bill. The restaurant itself has great views situated at the corner of a building. Try to get seated next to the window.”

“My kid had a 1 hour lunch break during her all day ski lesson, and after narrowing down the choices we settled on this one with 45 minutes. We were seated immediately and upon sitting, ordered her mac and cheese + chicken tenders. It came out speedily, she liked the spiral noodles and white cheddar sauce, as well as the 3 hefty pieces of chicken tenders (peppery thick coating, white meat). Husband and I split a fish and chips, pretty fried and thick cut fries (more like potato wedges rather than steak fries) with what tasted like curly fries breading. It was a bit too fried for us but good nonetheless.”

“We went to the cafe for a Carne Asada bowl. The food itself was good, but I thought it was grossly overpriced. The meat was delicious, but only about four bites. The bean portion was more generous, but very ordinary, maybe canned. The bowl was topped with a tablespoon of salsa, guacamole and sour creme. We got the meal to go . It was in a round container 6 inches wide by 2 3/4 inches tall and priced at $19 dollars. At least I didnt overeat that night!”

“Beautiful location, great service, good wine. We have been coming here for years. We enjoy sitting outside taking in the beautiful scenery and sipping wine. The staff is very knowledgeable and provides good recommendations. It's always been a good experience. But last time they really outdid themselves. I left my wallet on the couch. I called Uncorked as soon as I found out. Megan picked up the phone. She was kind enough to find it and put it away. I went back the the next day to pick it up. I highly recommended Uncorked for their wines, set up and service. Im very grateful for Megan for her honesty and kindness.”
