“Food was very good and the service was great. The music was a bit of a miss for a French bistro spot (Chili Peppers) but was ok once they turned it down. ~$100/ person with a shared appetizer. Worth a visit.”
“Stopped by and enjoyed a ginger agave cider and hard kambucha with the most delicious pretzels and beer fondue.... the owner, Austin is the nicest man, the place is awesome ,great music is played and we will return for sure. While in Truckee you have to go there !!”
“After experiencing an incredibly rude interaction by the owners of the nearby Smokey’s place, I decided to walk over to the Truckee Food Shop and grab a roasted half chicken with vegetables and Caesar salad. The owner was probably the most pleasant person I’ve dealt with in a very long time. And the food was great! I went on my home to Sacramento area but stopped at the lookout on the old Donner Summit Road. I enjoyed my meal with the wonderful scenery in front of me. It was nice and much better than dealing with that rude old old lady at Smokey’s.”
“We came here on a busy Saturday night. The staff was really friendly and helpful. All the food was fantastic - great choices for everyone. Save a little room to try the ice cream. We had a blast - thank you!”
“Excellent food, with great service and cozy atmosphere. Just a class act all around from the quality of the napkins, bottle of water at your table, and the quality of the food. I highly recommend.”

“Amazing food and wonderful service. Just what we needed after a day of skiing. I need a gluten free and dairy free meal and the chef was able to accommodate with no problem.”

“Absolutely delicious! The service, food, and drinks were phenomenal! Why not 5 stars, because they dont have high chairs which is a complete bummer since Truckee is a place a lot of families come to visit with their children and don't have child care to go without them. I hope they consider making this change as I would definitely come every time I'm in town if it was more comfortable for children to join.”
“Best sushi in Truckee! Very innovative and fresh fish for mountain sushi. May not order regularly but definitely worth trying at least once. I recommend the cloud roll with the crispy nori, very special!”
Restaurants with Delivery
“now eaten 5 or 6 times here. Consistently great food and professionally attentive service. Excellent wine list. Lost a star to the noise level in the restaurant - have to strain to talk over the din and loud music.”
“Chill vibe, great music, friendly staff, comfy seating with plenty of beer choices and food!Forgot to take pictures but I always appreciate a place that has more than one Pilsner option! No need to call any place out but this and great wolf have the best beer options on truckee”
“Amazing sandwiches. Wanted something warm so we shared the tuna melt on wheat hoagie and Reuben. Both were excellent. I think I preferred the tuna melt but that's bc I love tuna melts in general. Warning tho, that thing was gigantic. A twofer. Luckily I was starving after skiing. The Coaqua coconut water was also really good.”
“Food was very good and the service was great. The music was a bit of a miss for a French bistro spot (Chili Peppers) but was ok once they turned it down. ~$100/ person with a shared appetizer. Worth a visit.”
“Little Truckee Ice Creamery made our wedding cake, and it was absolutely perfect! We loved how gorgeous the ice cream cake was, and appreciated Kenny’s attention to detail with our decorating requests. Our guests LOVED it! This is some of the best ice cream we have ever had and could tell that it was fresh and made with quality ingredients. I highly recommend getting an ice cream cake from Little Truckee Ice Creamery, and I hope we have the pleasure of visiting the store when we return to Tahoe.”
“The pastries are fantastic! The so tasty and perfect blend of flakey and fluffy, not an easy feat. The baked goods are also beautiful. The coffee was tasty and complimented the baked goods well. The atmosphere is kid friendly and has a great blend of locals and visitors. They had high chairs available. I would post pictures but we ate everything too quickly.Dietary restrictions: They had a few gluten free options that looked delicious. Everything was very clearly labeled for allergies (gluten and nuts, etc.).”
“Such a fun little shop tucked away in Truckee. Definitely had one of the best London fogs I have ever had! And oat milk to boot! My husband got the Quattro Fungi and it was equally delicious and unique. The atmosphere of the shop was so cozy and friendly and the staff, human and fuzzy were warm and so sweet. We will definitely be back on our next journey to truckee.Dietary restrictions: Dairy free options”
“Awesome atmosphere! Glad we stopped in on our way home from skiing. Food-wise chicken sandwich was delicious, fries were great, and the beers on draft were tasty. Would easily return on our next trip to Tahoe.”
“Avocado toast was odd, more like a packaged avocado shmear with too much oil. Coffee was good, service was also a bit slow for a coffee shop with 2 people working and 2 customers, but everybody has slow days so I wouldn’t knock them on it. Would come back for coffee and atmosphere, eat breakfast somewhere else.”

“The servicers are always friendly upfront they make the best shakes and molts around I get the turkey burger that's delis with the mushroom and Swiss cheese on it I always get my doggy a patty as well for my best friend Lilli yummy yum ”
“We came here for lunch on one of our days in Truckee. We don't drink beer but we ordered some other drinks that were amazingly delicious. For our appy, we ordered these shrimp bao buns that were super flavorful. I ordered the bratwurst hotdog and that was yummy with a healthy helping of sauerkraut and two types of dip - cheese or grainy mustard. To be honest, that bratwurst wrapped in a pretzel bun could stand on its own without any dips...OMG! so good that u still remember how it tastes nearly a week after our trip. My husband ordered the turkey burger and that thing came loaded and he said it was one of the best turkey burgers he's ever had. We loved this place and will definitely be one of our go-tos in Truckee when we're up next! Thank you Alibi team...great work!”
“the espresso was kinda bitter but i still enjoyed my vanilla latte. pastries looked good. pretty busy on a sunday morning before leaving town. some seating available.”
“Everything is tasty and presentable here. Drinks are okay, in my opinion only. The blue crab dip is just okay. Pepper lemon wings are good! My personal favorites are steak, fried chicken, scallops, burger ?, pasta.”
“This is a great place for all motorcycle and snowmobile gear and parts. If he doesn't have it he can get it. Great customer service!! Greg the owner is a awesome human and always goes the extra mile to help. I love our local shop!!”
“Truckee River Winery is a boutique winery located in the town of Truckee, California, in the North Lake Tahoe. It's known for producing a variety of wines, often sourced from local vineyards in the Sierra Foothills and surrounding areas. They have a small gift shop, overall it's a cute winery for a quick wine tasting!”
Outdoor Dining
“If you are in the North Lake Tahoe area and looking for a legit Third-wave coffee roaster then this is your place. I'm an avid home roaster and always on the lookout for small shops that cater to my tastes when traveling. I was fortunate enough to drop in today while the owner Drew was roasting on his trusty Diedrich just inside the door. It was a priceless experience getting to chat with him about roasting and even get his advice on my struggles to hit the City+ sweet spot with my dry process beans from Sweet Marias ?.Ok, coffee roasting geeking aside – You can't go wrong here if you want to have a solid espresso drink or a carefully prepared pour over with a choice of freshly roasted coffees from different origins. I had a perfect flat white with the house blend and tasty sample of the fruity funky Columbian they were offering pre-brewed. As you'll read in the other reviews the vibe here is chill and the service was great. If you enjoy craft roasted single origin coffee that's not too "dark" (ironically) be sure to stop by this place! Oh, and don't forget to pick up a bag of freshly roasted house beans to bring back to your coffee loving friends back home!”
“Nestled in this little strip mall next to the 7-11. It's a great spot away from downtown with parking, for a quick, easy and delicious coffee break/sweet treat. I assumed all the treats here were gluten free, but alas, maybe not? Regardless, I believe that most are and while I'm not gluten free, they were delicious. Pastries ranged from croissants, to muffins, to cinnamon rolls and more. I went with the chocolate ganache croissant and the chocolate banana muffin. My kids loved both. A bit more of a 'spongey' texture, but still so buttery and flakey. I assumed the spongier texture was due to it being gluten free. My cappuccino was more of a bitter roast than my preference. They do charge extra for plant based milk. Inside is cute. And they have a fridge with breakfast burritos to go. I look forward to trying more things.”
“Perfect lunch place. Great for kids since it's near the airport playground too. They can be busy during lunch rush, but you can call in orders in advance which us helpful.”
“Stopped by and enjoyed a ginger agave cider and hard kambucha with the most delicious pretzels and beer fondue.... the owner, Austin is the nicest man, the place is awesome ,great music is played and we will return for sure. While in Truckee you have to go there !!”
“Best sandwiches in town. Its nice not close to downtown and all the foot traffic. Hidden gem next to boca! The service is always with a smile and you can gas up your vehicle and buy groceries as well. I would only ever eat hear no other shops can touch it”
“This place was delicious the food was amazing we will definitely be back. The staff was super friendly and on top of everything. We visit Truckee often so we will definitely come back.”

“My daughter and I come in every few weeks to share a medium cup of fro-yo. We usually spend about $7-$8 with tip. We only get sprinkles as a topping so that price really is just the weight of the fro-yo which I think is pretty fair. I like that there are rotating flavors and dairy free, low fat and fat free options. The POG flavor is so tart and sour, but I like it! It's usually pretty quiet inside and there are quite a few benches outside.”
“Best sushi in Truckee! Very innovative and fresh fish for mountain sushi. May not order regularly but definitely worth trying at least once. I recommend the cloud roll with the crispy nori, very special!”
“Everything is tasty and presentable here. Drinks are okay, in my opinion only. The blue crab dip is just okay. Pepper lemon wings are good! My personal favorites are steak, fried chicken, scallops, burger ?, pasta.”
“Here's the low-down: 1. Food - There's a lot of attention to detail here; there's fresh baked bread, there's Gumbo made daily, there's fresh fries. This is not a place that embraces canned / frozen foods. The medium rare burger I had was perfect with fresh fries and (seemed like) a freshly baked bun. My one complaint was the first cup of coffee; it tasted a little burned, but we were there late in the day. Also, I'd have rather seen a smaller menu featuring only what they do best, but that's my preference. I did not hear any complaints from anyone else while I was there. 2. Service - It was busy, and it's a coffee shop; you're not here to have a Maitre d' experience. You're going to get the friendly coffee shop vibe that borders on overly familiar. If you're not used to this, it might feel uncomfortable, but stay with it, you'll expand your horizons. 3. Ambiance - Wagon train doesn't try to be what it's not; it's a coffee shop with some fantastically crafted food. It feels like a locals-only gem despite its location in the middle of the downtown area. This is a rare gem where corners are not being cut; this kind of place is rapidly becoming a lost bit of Americana, definitely get in there and taste it while you can.”
“I really enjoy smaller/quieter places with a less formal vibe and good food. Meatballs, salad and pizza was great, fed us all again for lunch the next day with huge slices left over.”
“Friendly, nice owners! The Food is fantastic as well! My family recently had to go gluten free and I was SO excited to find fabulous food so close to home. I get to swing in to pick up my Meatless Monday's 3 course meal, and dinner is done for the night. Perfect place to go after picking up my kids from sports practice and know I've got a gluten free, locally sourced and tasty meal to feed the whole family. I buy organic and local myself, and enjoy supporting businesses that do the same.”
“Wonderful breakfast for the fam during Spring Break! The coffee was hot, the food was delicious with generous portions and the service excellent! The ambiance is very kitschy, cozy and fun. Bobby Flay filmed Throwdown with Bobby Flay there and the Racy Tracy omelet was definitely something to write home about! YUM!”
“We had a wonderful quiet birthday celebration at The Lodge main dinning room. The food was superb! I had the Alaska Halibut and my birthday boy had the Venison. We shared a Caesar salad topped with that lovely crisp fried parmesan. Everything from the delicious cocktails to the final bite was terrific. The service was good, the room is nice. We will be back.”

Stella
“We had a great meal at Stella. The food is elevated and yet the ambience is casual enough for kids. It's also very close to downtown Truckee so very convenient. We ordered the hamachi crudo (staff favorite) which was an excellent starter (with mushrooms, avocado and some additional elements i can't remember - the fish was a tiny bit fishy but the flavor and preparation made up for it), the little gems salad with sundried tomatoes and croutons, the eggplant dip with focaccia, and the sea bass entree. It was all really delicious, and just the right amount for two of us. The kids ate off the kids menu - the fish of the day (grouper) with fingerling potatoes and broccolini, and the pasta with pecorino and added chicken (an entire sous vide chicken breast!). Both were successful options. The ambience is open and bright with the big windows, but not as cozy and romantic if that's what you're looking for. Also it did take nearly two hours for our meal as the restaurant seemed a bit short staffed. We can't complain though since they were willing to move us up to a 6 pm.”

“For my 41st birthday, we did the tasting menu with wine paring and added the caviar option. Do it. JUST DO IT. Amazing service, the chef even signed my birthday menu. The atmosphere was old school Truckee classic. Thank you so MUCH.”
“Stopped for lunch with family. All 4 of us had the fish and chips an all of us agreed that that both were excellent. Honesty, one of the best I've every had! Both the fries and fish were cooked to perfection and the light, crispy batter on the fish was delicious! Kudos to the cook!”
“We stopped at Manzanita for an after dinner dessert and drinks. Starting for the beautiful ride on the gondola under the stars all the way to the outstanding decor and service at Manzanita - we loved the experience! And look forward to book it for dinner! The kitchen is in full view. Their cellar spectacular! We even found Tocai!”
“They don't do pizza's with half veggie and half meat, which forced us to get two pizzas which we didn't need. Pizza was good. Service is ok, and ambiance is alright as well.”
“Wait was very long so my expectations were extremely high. The food was all around good and fresh but nothing extraordinary. I liked the vitality they had to choose from in terms of rolls.”
“My friend and I came here for dinner on a Thursday evening after a half day of snowing. We were seated upon arrival as it was a slow day. Food: My friend and I ordered the following to share: Beet & Burrata Salad - A little small for the price, but it was pretty good Mac & Cheese - This was pretty good. It was decadent. Mushroom Risotto - This was good, but not super memorable. Beignets - These were plentiful and delicious. They were a little too crispy for my taste, but I would order again. Service: Our server was great and attentive. He was very friendly and made pleasant conversation. Our food came out promptly as well. We were fortunate that it was not busy at all. TL;DR - decent food and service at the Northstar Villag”
“Finally had the opportunity to experience Cottonwood for the first time for a special occasion. They didn't let us down! The rustic atmosphere was comfortable, warm and steeped in great ski and mountain history. The meals were well prepared and delicious. Jordan, our server, was most engaging, knowledgeable and customer centric. She made the evening memorable in every way. Cottonwood is now one of faves!”
“The service was amazing.. I love to see how all staff support eachother seamlessly. You’ve got a great crew right now! Dined w/friends and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. Thanks!”
“Delightful hidden treat at Northstar. You exit the loud crowded ice skating area and this little gem is quiet and clean and spacious enough for privacy. Just what me family needed after a big day on the slops. The kids menu was 15 each which is reasonable to me with a fruit side and cookie. We really loves the salmon and risotto. Very high quality ingredients and well balanced and thought out. I got a fun cocktail called the peppermint dude which delighted and wasn’t too sweet. We booked again for tomorrow. We usually go to the other big restaurant which is fun but this was the calm quiet fine dining but kid friendly experience we so needed but didn’t expect.Kid-friendliness: The chocolate chip cookie that comes with the kids meals is so good”
“Wow, what can I say, excellent Mexican food, even for California. I’m from Texas and my wife and I are here for our 23rd anniversary, we were married in Lake Tahoe in March and we didn’t want to risk driving over in the snow. So 23 years later we finally made it. Your food is as good as the best in San Antonio! Glad we stopped in.Edit: The photos came out great!”

Coffee And
“Found this place just randomly looking for some quick bites off the freeway. Walked in and first thing I see is a table full of yummy goodies like muffins, pastries and such. The place was busy which is always a good sign. I was greeted promptly and asked for a blueberry muffin to go. The offered to heat it up with butter...oh yeah! A very warm fresh delicious blueberry muffin with melted butter on a frigid winter morning was exactly what I needed to hit the spot. Price point was good and also a nice clean restaurant and bathroom. The folks there were very friendly and enjoyed nice conversation.”
“The vegan options were thoroughly enjoyed, we had one of each of the vegan Ramens, vegan buns, and vegans rolls and the flavors were spot on. Service was good, there was one mistake on order but they corrected it quickly. Lastly though this was first time at this location we had been to a Rakkan in Colorado but we thought these flavors at this just slightly better. If in the area, we will be probably be back.”
“Casual place with good food, friendly service and good drinks! We had a lovely meal with a tasty salad, wings, mozz sticks and pizza. Service was quick and friendly too — also family friendly.Highly recommend the wings and Rubicon pizza.”
Takeout Restaurants
“I rarely leave reviews, but this place deserves the attention. The beer was phenomenal. I tried three different brews and each one was my favorite. On top of that, Montana, the Paleontologist by day and server by night made our experience memorable. I brought my toddler with me and she entertained both of us the entire time (in a great way) with amazing facts around dinosaurs and was an absolute gem. Their location is a bit hidden, but fully worth the visit. It's SO cool inside. We took off right before trivia night, but I'll definitely be bringing my wife back to join the fun. Anyone looking for a place to stop by should add this to their list. Huge appreciation to Montana for such an enjoyable time.”
“I absolutely love this place! My family and i always have such a nice time. The staff are really nice and the food is so good! I get the crab benedict and honestly it's the best, you also can't forget the mimosas! On the weekends the wait is long but as long as you're with great company it flies by. My dad did want to say the pancakes can get a little dry but honestly it's a wonderful place to have breakfast/lunch! Will be going again very soon!”
“I love this spot - a true gem! After a long day of skiing it’s a great place to get some delicious food, especially their garlic fries! They have a gorgeous fireplace outside the restaurant, and the kids are able to sled while the adults hang out & chill. Truly magical place with a very friendly staff -highly recommend!!”
“This place is just awesome. Very unique pastry combinations. We especially love their Raspberry linzer bars, granola, quiche. Oh their porridge bread is amazing too. Ganache brownies are amazing too. Well worth waiting in line for!”
“This is a great place for all motorcycle and snowmobile gear and parts. If he doesn't have it he can get it. Great customer service!! Greg the owner is a awesome human and always goes the extra mile to help. I love our local shop!!”
“Much more authentic than chipotle. The food was good I had the enchilada, my friend had enchiladas, my other friend had the chicken enchilada, my other friend had the steak enchiladas. My other friend also happened to order an enchilada. The waiters were a little inattentive at times, but we got a lot of water refills. Overall a great experience!Vegetarian options: My vegan bro ate goodKid-friendliness: They were friendly to my young friend SamParking: You can park in Truckee high schoolDietary restrictions: My gluten free bro ate good”

“Loved the space they have and overall good beers. I didn't love every one I tried but on the whole enjoyed my 2 flights. The peanut butter milk stout was a surprisingly delicious beer and enjoyed the shandy too. Staff was friendly and accommodating! Plus there are beautiful trailing vine plants adorning the area that really perk up the warehouse feel”

“The service was very good I took a good minute choosing what I wanted and they were friendly the whole time! The blueberry cream cheese croissant is so delicious I originally wanted a smoothie then couldn't pass it up when I saw it”
“Nice restaurant, good food, great pizzas, large beer selection, very pleasant servers.Recommend.Parking: In the Raley's shopping center.Wheelchair accessibility: Flat access into the restaurant.”

“The owner is very nice to his customers and always cool to everyone.Me and my friend say hi to the owner all the time and always get good burritos. Thanks again, Sergio ???”
“I can’t believe I haven’t tried this place before. As a former Chicagoan, I always appreciate a great family-owned Italian spot. Their Chicken Parm was fantastic! I am looking forward to trying the Italian Beef next. No pressure!”
“Solid pizza joint up in Truckee. I loved going to the place in Tahoe City long ago when I would head to night skiing at now-Palisades Tahoe and head back to my friend's house with an appetite the size of the village. Now they have a spot in Truckee with slices made to order and some of the requisite games on site to play. Super cute spot, good food, even when my order has been not quite what I placed it's still good. Would love to see expanded options for alcoholic drinks like ciders instead of just beers. The non-alcoholic options are damn good, they have tons of various Mexican sodas. Service has always been great - friendly and timely. Definitely a staple spot.”

“The Lodge staff has really hit their stride and the extra half dozen feet did the base (and the length of the season) good. The chef and his sous are on fire. We finally have a regular order after a few runs through the menu: Steelhead Duck l'Orange Steak Tartare Carrot harissa salad And the Sticky (Toffee) Pudding But we will continue to come here for the service and the people. Special shout out to Brandon, Joseph, Rosa, Jefferson.”
“We went to the cafe for a Carne Asada bowl. The food itself was good, but I thought it was grossly overpriced. The meat was delicious, but only about four bites. The bean portion was more generous, but very ordinary, maybe canned. The bowl was topped with a tablespoon of salsa, guacamole and sour creme. We got the meal to go . It was in a round container 6 inches wide by 2 3/4 inches tall and priced at $19 dollars. At least I didnt overeat that night!”
Drive-Thru Restaurants
“Great ice-cream and even better people. We tried to walk through the drive through just past hours for inside service and they offered to open up the building and let us in. Gave my dog a giant pup cup for free too!”
“McDonald's consistently delivers quick service and delicious food at an affordable price. Whether I'm grabbing breakfast on the go or enjoying a meal with friends, McDonald's offers a wide variety of menu options to satisfy any craving. The quality of their ingredients is always reliable, and the food is consistently fresh and hot. The convenience of their drive-thru and mobile ordering makes it easy to get my favorite McDonald's items wherever I am. Additionally, the friendly staff ensure a pleasant experience every time I visit. Overall, McDonald's is my go-to fast food restaurant for its convenience, affordability, and tasty menu offerings.”

“It's a typical bar with lots of TVs around featuring sports. After a long ski day, the group was pretty exhausted so it was nice to visit a casual restaurant. During happy hour, there are some featured appetizers and a dollar off alcohol. Our group ended up ordering a pitcher of beer and it was great. I would highly recommend the Truckee Style wings and Memphis BBQ burger. Both hit the spot and were delicious. The wings were saucy and savory, and the burger was massive! The service was quick and the waitress was friendly, checking up on us a couple times throughout the dinner.”
Cheap Eats
“It's better than the pastime! Haha I don't buy Budweiser, but they do sell it here unlike the bar a few doors down. Free popcorn too. There is a pole on the bar top and bullet holes in the ceiling. It's definitely a vibe. Best dive bar in town. If Callahan's working, you're in for some great service. The atmosphere is very entertaining!Locals like Airek and the Dynamic Duo make the experience!Parking: Just park at the post office around back. But shhhh.”
“Nice little spot. Went on a pretty quiet day and enjoyed a half serving of biscuits and gravy, over easy eggs and candied bacon. Limited indoor seating but you can always take things to go or eat outside. Fast service. Very tasty.”
“Amazing ambiance, amazing art, great people, great chai, great vibes. They have 2 all gender bathrooms with one being accesible, and have free wifi. They are also running an earth month campaign during April where you get $0.50 off when you bring your own cup, as well as offering 20% off all retail mugs and tumblers.”
“Up until covid hit, I loved playing the Sunday night Open Mic here. The sound system was first rate, the crowd was always enthusiastic and friendly, and the bartender was terrific. The atmosphere is awesome and I am just waiting for the Open Mic to resume!”
“These tacos are bomb a'f. I work in the Truckee-Tahoe area and it's my favorite taco place to go for lunch, just needs more parking maybe but they're bomb”
“Very great experience!!! Great prices compared to some of the other restraunts here. Ate here 3 times throughout our stay. I got the quesadillas, tortilla soup, and churros. They were all great! Would highly recommend to anyone visiting here!!!✅✅✅??”
“Had the bacon egg sandwich and my co worker had the sausage egg on biscuit. The biscuit was not good but the bacon and egg sandwich was pretty good. Since it is within the Ritz everything is spendy ($8 for water). Service is excellent.”
“Their food was excellent, prices were super reasonable, and the staff was so sweet. The place was packed but they brought the food out pretty quick and didn't mess up our order one bit. I'd totally come back here.”
“My family is staying at a friend's cabin this week and this coffee shop is a must any time we're in Truckee. The gluten free bakery items are delicious, the lattes are consistently great and the customer service has been fantastic. The cashier is very efficient and kind to make tweaks to drink orders (which I'm always a bit embarrassed to give!). Love the foam artistry of barista too. I tend to like trying out different coffee shops when on vacations/getaways...but here I am at Coffeebar the third day in a row.”
“Delicious. Delectable. Hubby had street tacos (tongue and stomach), boys had carnitas super quesadilla, mom had chile verde burrito a la carte (I really don't need rice and beans on the side), washed down with horchata. The whole family demolished the side of chips and Pico de Gallo ($2.50 I think, but worth it). My burrito was copiously drizzled with yummy green sauce and had big chunks of pork nestled in its folds, and a chunk of lettuce, sour cream, guacamole and chopped tomatoes on the side. So good. Not overloaded with rice and beans (maybe there wasn't any... and it was tastier perhaps because they were missing!) And for only $9.99 - seriously inflation fighting and not a price tag I have seen in the Bay Area in awhile (and since prices are sticky, a price will never see again... Oh woe is me). Nice ambiance too.”
“The food was extremely good, and we ordered all types of dishes, so the overall quality was high. The only problem was service. There is one waiter, and she always picked up the phone for pickup. It doesn’t feel right that this restaurant has a 3.9 rating, definitely recommend!”
“Excellent food, great service. We had the garlic knots as an appetizer, and they were more original than any other I've had. They take the dough and roll it thin and slice it like cinnamon rolls. This delicate rolled dough is more pastry than knot, but that touch imbues it with the flavors of the freshly chopped garlic that adorns the top and sides, along with freshly cut parsley and the copious olive oil that the rolls sit in. Delicious! We also had the slice of the day, along with some Sicilian slices topped with mushrooms and fresh basil. Often when pizzerias say they have basil as a topping, it's dried basil, and that seems like cheating as it's just another dried spice or herb. But here we had piles of freshly chopped basil that had that amazing aroma wafting into our noses as we dined. The Sicilian slices are thicker than their normal slice -what they call "New York thin." There is a toastiness to the crust edges that was quite satisfying. If you're ever in Truckee, this is the place for amazing pizza and friendly service.”
“I don't know what all these low reviews are for. Oh wait! Yes I do! It's from the visiting snobs. Come to Truckee, and have fun but geez please have some class and show respect for the people that live and work there. This is a local spot with friendly people and good treats.”
“They allow you to order with your phone or via a kiosk, and pick up when it's ready. So there is no line to order the food. That saves a lot of your precious ski time.”
“Such a great little gem of Truckee. The oldest family run spot in town and they're still here for a reason. Fantastic bar with very reasonable prices. Food is great as well, something for everyone. Definitely recommend asking for their hot sauce!”
“Nice, quiet atmosphere and easily the best food in Northstar Village. Seating is somewhat limited so reservations are likely required for prime dinner hour, but we can early and were seated straight away. Will definitely return.”
“They offer a choice of meats in combination with either sandwich, tater tots or mac&cheese. Make sure you get the sandwich option. Because when you order sandwich it also comes with potato chips. The other two options don’t.”
“This is a good place to stop and have lunch during your Northstar ski experience. However, I can't give it five stars because the prices are at least double the normal cost. That applies to everything sold here. Options for vegan or vegetarian guests are very limited. All that aside, it's a nice ski lodge, and the food is fine if you like burgers, fries, pizza, chicken tenders, etc. Lines are usually short, and the staff is friendly and helpful. It is clean and tidy.”
“Great place rode the gondola up from North Star village. Our server Max was amazing! Food was great, atmosphere amazing. Definitely good place after a long day of skiing kids loved it too. Drinks were amazing too. Don’t let the negative reviews scare you off. Definitely come here and enjoy good food, drinks and atmosphere. It’s pricy but it’s the Ritz sooooooo.Kid-friendliness: My kids loved it. They also know how to behave in a nice restaurant.”
“The vegetable samosa was huge, and the lamb vindaloo was nice and spicy as ordered. The lamb vindaloo had great flavors, especially with the naan. I really enjoyed the meal, and recommend it for something low-key and savory.”

“Came here for a friend's bday dinner after a long day of snow sports. Food came out relatively quick. Solid service, they provided icecream for the friend. We got here before the rush; within 10 minutes after 6:15PM, there was a line out of the door. The space may feel a bit small but it is cozy. Flavors of the food is really bold which I appreciate. Some of the sauces of the noodles (pad thai, pad se eew, hangover noodles) were a bit too sweet for my preference but my friends enjoyed the pad se eew the most. It was also the most recommended by the owner. Medium to large portions for the price. Great food for being out in a snow resort town. The peanut sauce that accompanies the crispy duck was to die for!”

“Food was very good and the service was great. The music was a bit of a miss for a French bistro spot (Chili Peppers) but was ok once they turned it down. ~$100/ person with a shared appetizer. Worth a visit.”

“the salsa negra taco was one of the best things i have ever had the pleasure of putting on my tongue. get it. skip the rest. don’t go anywhere else. have that and leave knowing you can die tomorrow, at peace with yourself.”
“Stopped for lunch with family. All 4 of us had the fish and chips an all of us agreed that that both were excellent. Honesty, one of the best I've every had! Both the fries and fish were cooked to perfection and the light, crispy batter on the fish was delicious! Kudos to the cook!”
“This place was delicious the food was amazing we will definitely be back. The staff was super friendly and on top of everything. We visit Truckee often so we will definitely come back.”
“This place is a cute mom and pop shop that has great costumer service. I recommend the pull pork sandwich, fries, Mac and cheese, and burger! The ribs were a little dry, but we did come when the kitchen was closing so I do not blame them. I recommend this place to anyone wanting a good tasting and priced meal, while also feeling comfortable and at home!”
YUM!”
“Wait was very long so my expectations were extremely high. The food was all around good and fresh but nothing extraordinary. I liked the vitality they had to choose from in terms of rolls.”
“Delicious.

“The superior coffee option at Northstar! Pros - free WiFi, limited but available seating every time I came. It's technically a coworking space that is shared with the real estate office located right by the guest drop off area. - clean bathroom (single person only) - quiet ish. Lots of remote workers. - super super friendly service! - breakfast frittata was better than expected. Cons - Ceremonial Matcha was not my favorite - Vanilla latte was pretty good but disappointed that the 8 ounce is one shot only - pastries were super fresh baked in Truckee, I did not really enjoy the flavor of the croissant though (I think the butter they use). - wish they had more food variety similar to the other locations”
“now eaten 5 or 6 times here. Consistently great food and professionally attentive service. Excellent wine list. Lost a star to the noise level in the restaurant - have to strain to talk over the din and loud music.”
