The cafe is getting a full "reboot." I chatted with a couple of the store managers and they're looking at all their options to create a better cafe space, mainly with respect to what type of menu they will offer. For instance, the now serve much improved drip coffee from Highwire Coffee Roasters -- nice touch. This market is filled with super helpful and friendly staff. Many options for grocery staples makes it easy to shop for weekly needs (including gluten-free options and vegan options) and makes a trip to nearby Berkeley Bowl only necessary for more exotic ingredients every once in a while, which is great because that place is too crowded. I've enjoyed the quiet shopping in the few times I've been in, but I hope that doesn't last long because this market deserves a lot more traffic....read full review
This place is ammaazzzinggg. I was finally close enough to shop at this store, and I'll admit I was a little scared the prices would be higher for an independent grocery store, and that's a big nope! I got all of my taco ingredients, canned goods, produce, fresh salsa, locally made tortillas, ALL for the same price I would at any other grocery store. Was impressed to see a wide variety of everything, a meat counter, vegan products, etc. There might not be 10 brands of every product,...read full review
