“I have eaten here every day for the last 5 days, twice today - something I have never done anywhere else in my life, and I'm almost 73. The food is delicious and nourishing, and the owner and the people who work here are warm and delightful.“

“We liked the atmosphere of this place. The service was exceptional. Food was good but a little bit overpriced considering the portion. Also, that was only few percentage Persian in the fusion dishes. Expect more Mexican style dishes with a little bit of twists.“

“Good dine in experience.. The combo rice dish was flavourful and was of a decent helping. The rice was lacking the butter flavouring in my opinion. The beef and chicken skewers were done perfectly though. The only thing I didn't like, was the "mint tea". Was served a cup of hot water with a few mint leaves in it, but no sign of tea anywhere. Thought it quite odd that they'd call it tea then..Quite reasonable pricing too, for today's world.. Found a parking structure within walking distance from the restaurant at $2.50 for the first 2 hours.. so don't bother driving around in circles trying to find a street parking spot.“

“Best Persian food in the East Bay. I have tried all of them. Fresh, delicious and made to order. Nice people and wonderful flavors. I had the falafel and salmon wraps and they were amazing. The salmon was marinated in advance of grilling and therefore had its own distinct flavor. The falafel balls were very tasty and the wrap bread used for both was original middle eastern bread. I've also had the meat plates and rice. The meat was tender and flavorful and grilled to order. The bolani was amazing, freshly made, and packed items ready to take home are also authentic and delicious. They have vegetarian & vegan options in addition to meat.“

“When it comes to traditional ethnic cuisine, Alborz stands out as a shining example of excellence. Nestled in the heart of Persian culinary traditions, this restaurant pays unwavering attention to the finer points that elevate a dining experience from ordinary to extraordinary. The food is great, but just listen to the following for example:Faloodeh: That delightful Persian slushy, finds its true form at Alborz. Instead of a bland block of rock hard icy Faloodeh that you usually get since most restaurants just keep them in the freezer, they present a slushy Faloodeh—a delicate dance of frozen noodles, rosewater, and lemon. It’s like savoring a snowflake infused with summer memories. The texture is ethereal, the flavors harmonious. Close your eyes, and you’ll taste the ancient Silk Road, where traders exchanged spices and stories under star-studded skies.Persian Tea and traditions: Forget the mass-produced sugar cubes; at Alborz, they serve their Persian tea with loaf sugar—small, delicate chunks that dissolve gracefully, infusing the brew with sweetness. It’s a nod to tradition, a sip of nostalgia. Each sip transports you to the bustling bazaars of Tehran, where tea is not just a beverage but a cherished ritual. The food is delicious. The ambiance wraps around you like a cozy shawl and the staff are gracious. However, what truly sets Alborz apart is its obsession with the details I’ve expressed above. It’s in these small gestures that Alborz whispers, “We care. We honor tradition. We create memories.”In a world where haste often trumps heritage, Alborz remains steadfast—a guardian of flavors, a keeper of memories. So, next time you step into this culinary haven, raise your teacup and toast to the artisans who turn meals into masterpieces.“

“we were at the Fairmont for a seminar and needed to find a lunch place. I'm carb reduced and the few options nearby were going to be a salad only option for lunch. I've been going to Maykadeh for 30ish years, so I suggested it. I had 2 side koobideh skewers (no rice)and my companions chose ghorme sabzi and khoresht badmjan. Everyone was really happy with the lunch and one companion had the pear, ice cream, and raspberry sauce for dessert“

“We had such a wonderful time at Calabash last Friday night. The environment is welcoming and comfortable, Our waiter was so lovely that we wanted to take him home with us, and the food and drink were amazing. The three of us shared a carafe of Rum Punch. The rum was so smooth that we didn't even taste it, but we could feel it by the time our food was served. My husband and friend ordered the Jerk Chicken and I had the Jerk Chicken and Shrimp Pasta. We all three agreed that the spice levels were perfect - and that covers spice attitudes ranging from a "Mayo is Spicy" level to "Let's add more hot sauce". The chicken thighs were perfectly cooked, the red beans and rice were perfectly cooked and the plantains were so good that my husband didn't even save me one! I was completely happy with my pasta dish. All of the components were cooked to perfect doneness and the tomato cream sauce was delicious. We skipped dessert because the portion sizes were generous and we just couldn't fit anything else!Oh! The Restroom! It's all Gender, with a common ante-room for hand washing, with individual full doored toilet rooms. But the lighting, the whole vibe, of the anteroom was so lovely. I would have been happy to find a chaise lounge and hang out in there, it was so inviting. Very nice design! We will definitely be back.“
