“Try to get here as early as you can! I got here probably at 9.40 AM-ish. Definitely a pricey pastry BUT worth to try (and come back to). Probably one of the best croissants I’ve ever had in LA. Flake to perfection, inside is very buttery soft and fluffy. Atmosphere is very cozy and nice to work.“
“BABY! I do NOT play about coffee, living in seattle made me a whole coffee connoisseur and this place is spot on. I love when I can taste the flavors and still taste the COFFEE cus I don’t drink coffee for sugar I want to taste that espresso. On top of it the staff is so friendly I was literally going to a place for 6 months every other day and they didn’t bother to learn my drink or name like what? I will be back and I will bring my friends!!! So many options I am excited about!“
“Visiting from out of town and was so happy to try this entirely gluten free gem! The staff was so friendly, we had breakfast biscuits, donuts, coffee and more. Everything was so good. I also got a caramel bread pudding to go and it was amazing. Like another reviewer said, thank you for existing!!“
“Come here all the time. Food portions are very generous and the coffee here is great. A bit on the strong side at times but you’re definitely getting your moneys worth. The breakfast burrito, crepe, French Toast combo, and of course their açaí bowls are my favorites. They make a pretty hearty breakfast sandwich as well.Because their portions are big, don’t come here expecting to pick up fast food. The service is not slow. These people work hard to get your food orders ready accurately but wait time for your meal could be anywhere from 10-18 minutes. But when I tell you it’s worth the wait, trust me. I come here before work and order ahead for my lunch breaks.Staff is of course always great and friendly.“
“I love the coffee here but unfortunately don't go very much as they no longer have wifi. As someone who works remotely, wifi is essential for me. I really hope they bring back the wifi so that this can be my go-to spot for coffee and work.“
“I was in the area for work and a coworker actually recommended this place to me! It seems to be one of those trusty college delis that suddenly appeared one day and permanently becomes student lore. Inside, I found a quant mini-market stocked with a bunch of snacks, drinks, and the counter for ordering. The worker (i forgot his name!) helped us immediately, and I ordered the pastrami. I sat outside, where there were plenty of tables with shade! The worker brought out the sandwich to us, and I thought it was huge! The price seemed a bit high for ne, but that wasn't too big of a concern since the sandwich was jam packed with meat and kraut. The flavor wasn't too salty for me, and had the right amount of flavor with the bread. This was a great spot, and I'll have to stop by again.“
“The Earl Grey latte is SO GOOD!! I'd say this shop is a little pricey, but if you sign up for their rewards programs the points stack up past and you'll be getting a free drink or food item before you know it. I love that this coffee shop always has friendly staff and a peaceful atmosphere. Also has some outdoor seating if you want to bring your pup!!“
“Cute cafe/boba shop in Old Town Pasadena! I ordered a jasmine milk tea with boba. They have all the different levels of customization, like ice and sugar levels, milk options, and toppings. My drink hit the spot and the boba was cooked perfectly to qq texture. Lots of seating, too:“
“Got their ube latte with oat milk and an einspanner. Both drinks are solid - can taste the distinct flavors of each drink without the drinks being too sweet. The parking lot is tiny though (no parking at noon on a weekday) and the coffee shop itself was really stuffy and hot when I went (it was 80 degrees outside and it felt cooler outside). Service was quick - in and out in a few minutes!“
“Hip and modern cafeCome and check out their menuThey have both indoor and outdoor.Got Costa Rica pour over, purple Carmel latte (with Ube?), sea latte Carmel cappuccinoGreat drinksThe pour over is fragrant and delicious.Purple Carmel was delicious definitely recommend. They had live dj playing while we were here.Parking: Street parking recommended or neighborhood parking“
“I just came across this place yesterday and I'm honestly sad I didn't find it sooner! I was driving up Sierra Madre Blvd when I became intrigued by a sign reading "Yerba Mate Bar" and naturally insisted that my husband veer off the road so I could check it out. When I walked into this small shop I was met by the sounds of bossa nova and a cozy bar with a colorful yet chic aesthetic. The place has a chill vibe that is perfect for reading, studying, creative work, or just hanging out with friends. I enjoyed chatting with the owner, Juan, who is a very friendly and cool person and who has excellent customer service. When it came to the food and drink, I had high expectations, which were quickly exceeded. Everything is made with fresh, organic ingredients, so the food and drinks are not only incredibly clean, but also unmistakably delicious and refreshing. I enjoyed the cold brewed "gogo ginger" mate, draft tulsi mate, and ordered a guava lemonade for my husband--all of them were fantastic. I also thought I'd be indulgent and try a spinach empanada. Let me simply say this was the best empanada I have ever tasted. The pastry dough was the perfect texture and so light (unlike a lot of heavy, stodgy empanadas I've had), and the filling was incredibly flavorful and satisfying. It came with a fresh chimichurri sauce on the side which somehow managed to make it even better. Suffice to say, I can't wait to come back to this spot and treat myself and loved ones. I've already talked my husband's ear off about this place, and plan to tell anyone else who will listen. Yes, it really is the good!“
“Good beans and they know how to make espresso but not as good as the better shops in Pasadena. Croissants are nothing special and a bit expensive, but other baked items are good. Worst atmosphere around, with an industrial kitchen and other operational detritus on display for all to have to look at while ordering.“
“Superba is an excellent breakfast/Lunch spot. You cant go wrong with anything on their menu and their baked goods are some of the most delicious around. Their madeleines and cookies are my two recommendations, especially fresh. My go to is their egg breakfast sandwich, but the breakfast burrito is also a must try. I recommend superba for a quick bite or a nice meal with friends, but not very many plugs for the internet cafe goers.“
“We have passed this donut shop for well over 20 plus years....out and about. Boston I decided to drop in and give it a shot coffee is better than Starbucks and their Maple covered donut outstanding. Young lady behind the counter extremely joyful.“
“Some of the best beans a person can hope for, we use the JC espresso as our main coffee at home, always in the hopper 24/7. Consistent, deep flavor profiles with subtle variations throughout the year. Basically overnight shipping in the LA area. After a couple years of pulling Jc espresso shots every morning I finally branched out a tried some other blends. They are just as good. 10 stars.“
“I love this place. Great customer service, atmosphere and selection of drinks when it comes to smoothies, boba, etc. Food selection is limited but not bad. It's great for either dining in or take out. I love coming from time to time and will continue coming back.“
“The famous franchising local coffee shop. Many people gather in the morning while the lane is sometimes long and the seats may face the shortage of the seats. The coffee is generally good as I tried the vanilla Bean Flavored Latte. There is somehow a secret menu of the affogato named as the Summer's Macchiato! The espresso with the vanilla ice-cream scroop! That's great in taste and cheap in price. Plenty of parking here and have the curbside pickup option if using the App. Might try for the good items next time.“
“The workers here are always so lovely and efficient! The drink are extremely well made and delicious, and the aesthetics and decoration are cute. I especially like the interactive sticky note wall. :3Kid-friendliness: Ive seen a lot of kids(high schoolers to elementary) go here, and the workers are always respectful. Theres nothing NSFW or worrisome about anything there!“
“love all the drinks at mandarin coffee stand and the baristas are all super friendly! they have great speciality drinks and offer cool pop ups every now and then but it gets really crowded and awkward since the space is so small, there's also not a lot of seating so it's not great for a sit down catch up the place if that's what you're looking for, it's great for a grab and go except you'll most likely have to wait in line“
“Coffee And Plants (est 2019) is cute lil plant-based coffee shop tucked in an alley way of One Colorado Square in Pasadena. It’s founded by Leona Lewis, Dennis Jauch, and friend Achraf Sekhiri. I bet you didn’t know that. HaHa!They have specialty drinks, drip and pour-over coffees, cold brews, special teas and seasonal menu items. Its pulchritudinous indoor and outdoor design is infused with faux plants and flowers; indoor seats were limited and layout lacks space but their front outdoor seats does make up for it.I was perfunctorily greeted by a staff. I perused their menu and ordered a regular cold brew (10oz) x almond milk. I liked the taste and smoothness. I honestly think it’s kinda small for a $6.25 tag price. Condiment section was organized and clean. Staff was competent. Atmosphere was relaxing. Overall, I had a good experience and enjoyed my drink as a first time visitor.“
“I kept hearing about this place so I finally decided to try it. I really liked the rich flavor of the coffee. I got a latte with almond milk and thought it was delicious. I also tried the greeny bagel. The bagel was fresh and super tasty. I liked that it was not huge and overloaded. I would go back!“
“Lavender breve is delicious. It tastes like real lavender. I had no idea what a breve was - but it’s creamy, flavorful and still gives you a taste of coffee. There is always a line but your order still comes out quickly. Limited seating indoor and out, more of a grab and go kind of place. Family friendly- always children with their parents when i’m here.“
“Service was a bit slow but it was quite crowded when I came. Tried the Oreo drink and the limited edition Kafka blueberry cooler. Oreo drink was too sweet even at 75% sweetness, the blueberry cooler was much tastier. They were out of big straws so it was significantly more difficult to drink the boba and jelly. All the collaboration goodies with honkai star rail were great! We got a poster, drink holder, and sticker along with a redeem code with our drinks!Has a digital order station that works well and is easy to navigate. A bit difficult to find parking so I recommend trying to find parking nearby and walking there!“
“Really nice shop and experience! Came here with a few friends on a weekday morning and it was a little busy, and our food and coffee still came out within 10 minutes. I ordered the veggie breakfast burrito and enjoyed it so much!! The oat milk latte hot was also tasty. I would come back.“
“Very interesting. Their main thing is these gently cooked big poofy "pancakes" made with egg whites and other stuff. Two of us shared a milk tea boba pancakes and it was perfect. It would be a lot for one person. There is a bit of a wait as each order is cooked on demand. They were tasty and fluffy. Would like to try other things there.“
“First time at Philz and I love love love the honey latte. So good. I also got the plant based sandwich. It was good but I didn't feel it was worth the price. They have lots of chargers and easy wifi. I didn't love the vibe inside but they have really nice outdoor seating too if it's nice out. The service was okay but felt kinda like they were annoyed with me. I'll be back for that coffee though.“
“The best Vietnamese coffee I’ve had so far, tasted more like a chocolate milkshake!!!Great sandwiches and eggrolls as well. Thank you for the wonderful service we had today after seeing AGT!Parking: Free parking in frontKid-friendliness: YesWheelchair accessibility: Yes“
“Good quality and friendly service at this new breakfast burrito place in Pasadena. I had the steak burrito and although it was smaller than I had expected, it was packed with enough flavors. Will definitely come back and try their other burritos.“
“Love this coffee shop with great vibe. Ordered a special beans from the menu, it’s smooth and flavourful. Appreciate how they present the espresso with carbonated water to cleanse your palette and a piece of chocolate to complement the coffee.I also got a 30g sample coffee bag with beans from colombia, the beans are roasted very nicely with a nice rose hip aroma. Very lovely!“
“I have been here a few times and I love their coffee and the variety of drinks they have! I went over the weekend and got their seasonal sweet and salty peanut butter latte and it is the BEST latte I have ever had!! I hope they make it a permanent drink on their menu because it is so good and I'll be sad if they get rid of it. I also love the ambience of the shop. This is my favorite coffee/tea shop in Pasadena, hands down!“
“First time in here - got a latte, a breakfast burrito and a baguette sandwich. Everything was fresh and delicious. Very spacious open floor with high ceilings; great place to grab a bite and work remotely. Shout out to the staff - every individual we spoke with was very warm and friendly. Will be back.“
“Located in Pasadena, it's a perfect spot for working or studying, with a whole parking lot in the back, so no worries about finding parking. That alone deserves five stars! Ordered my go-to oat milk latte and it was amazing—subtle sweetness of oats without overpowering the coffee. Perfect combo! The space is spacious with plenty of outlets, and the atmosphere is great, with most people working. Wi-Fi password available at checkout. Half the place doubles as a brewery, so after 5 pm , you can switch from coffee to beer. They really know how to do business! Weekend update: no Wi-Fi available, and some tables are not for laptop use.Located in Pasadena, a great place for working and studyingThere is a whole parking lot behindDon’t worry about there being no parking space when you come to Pasadena. This alone deserves a five-star rating?I ordered the oatmeal latte that I must order in every coffee shop.It tastes super good!Oatmeal fragrance exudes a slight sweetnessBut it doesn’t take away the fragrance of coffeeThe perfect combination! Super recommended! The space in the store is pretty bigMany actions have plugs?Almost everyone who comes here is workingLove the atmosphere here very muchYou can ask the store clerk for the Wifi password at checkoutHalf of the store is a breweryAfter get off work at 5 p.m.After drinking coffee, you can have a glass of beer?I can only say that they are very good at doing business?UpdatesThere is no WiFi available on weekends and many tables are closed to computers“
“I had to get a birthday cake for some friends who were both lactose intolerant and had egg allergies. A friend recommended Valentines. The people took my order and I got the can't the next day with a $5 discount to boot! Tastes wonderful and my friends loved it too. If you're parking be careful though. Pasadena cops are quick to ticket. I saw someone getting a parking ticket.“
“I’m often in old town at night, and this is one of the few dessert/drink shops still open. The location is well-lit and clean, with a few seats inside. Mostly a grab and go place, but you never feel like you’re in a rush here. No public restroom. Staff is polite and efficient. Drinks are prepared fairly quickly and prices are decent for the quality you get. Street parking gets hard to find but it’s very close to the schoolhouse garage at $1 for 2 hours. Swing by for a sweet treat!“
“I was having the worst day ever at work and I needed something really tasty. I decided to come here for a poke bowl. I'd never had a custom bowl so when I came in on my lunch(feeling hectic and rushed), the cashier Josh was so helpful with advising what to eat. I got a standard bowl, with salmon and ahi tuna- also house sauce. I was parked in the15 minute area because really worried about getting a ticket, when Josh brought my bowl out to me!! That was above and beyond, and I was so grateful I accidentally said "I love you"... lol so cringe. Anyways, Josh and everyone here is great and the food is great!! The parking is difficult but it's seriously worth it!“
“I love their Kinako Chestnut dessert! It's a subtle sweetness to it that doesn't make it overly sweet! I got the honeycomb latte and it was delicious! Before mixing in the honeycomb it's a little more bitter however after the honeycomb dissolves it makes sweet. This coffee is on the sweeter side. The workers were very helpful in answering my questions and there were plenty of chairs and tables inside!“
“This place has been making other donuts forever. I love this donut shop. It’s so delicious it’s a little small place hole in the wall, but the person making the donuts really put their heart into it. Try their blended mocha or Thai tea. Delicious. The gentleman is always nice.“
“This Starbucks is at the Paseo in Pasadena. It's conveniently near the ice rink and the convention center. The service is good there and usually has the snacks that we like even later in the day( protein pack or the sugary treats) .Parking: The Starbucks will validate your parking for one hour.“
“Small but really fantastic location in the old town Pasadena area, and definitely upholding the high standard I expect of the brand! Great to swing by during a day of shopping, running errands, post-lunch pick me up, or simply just walking around and catching up with a friend.I always get their oat milk lattes, matcha lattes, and big bottles of their cold brew concentrate, and this location delivers on all of those items as per expected.I think the size is the only thing they don’t have a leg up on over other locations, but the outdoor seating is definitely nice for when the weather permits, and obviously isn’t something they have control over!“
“I had an amazing experience at the Acai Bar in Pasadena! The acai bowls were absolutely delicious, and the service was top-notch. The atmosphere was cozy and inviting, making it the perfect spot for a healthy and satisfying meal. I'll definitely be coming back for more! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐“
“Snobby crowd, but sweetest server. Hangar steak prepared perfectly medium rare with the best truffle sauce for crispy pomme frites. Cool ambience. But bummer they had private party encroached on the rest of the restaurant seating. Might come back.“
“Update: prices have increased a lot in the last two years but still deliciousLarge size for a relatively low price. The boba is the best and you have a wide variety of options for your drink which is delicious. The staff is friendly and while there is usually a line it goes by quickly and is worth it!“
“Such a cute spot for coffee and lunch. They have good sandwiches, croissant, and coffee. Indoor and outdoor seatings available.I ordered:1. Matcha latte with oatmilk2. Chicken pesto sandwich3. El doe sotelo - egg whites, roasted and fresh tomatoes, fresh cilantro, avocado and olive oil. Black beans on the side. This is arepas for breakfast with the choice of scramble eggPaid street parking is available for this Pasadena downtown area.“
