“I've been to Skaf's a couple of times now. As many reviewers note, the cheese roll is a must get if you love and respect yourself and your happiness. Queso fresco and feta fried in the crispiest wrapper is a match made in heaven.Grape leaves are also a wonderful appetizer, especially if you're like me and could accidentally put away 12 of this if not paying attention.I often find falafel to be disappointing in restaurants and much better homemade, but Skaf's falafel would give even the best homemade falafel a run for its money. The texture is exactly how it should be - crisp, crunchy exterior with a soft (but not gummy) interior. The falafel is also jam packed with flavor and surrounded by insanely well executed tabbouleh (perfectly seasoned), cabbage salad, hummus, and babaganouj. “Excellent kabobs, probably the best I've had in LA in the 5 years I've lived here. It's located in the middle of a residential area, and I had heard about it from so many people so I had to finally try it. I got the beef and chicken combo plate, and the meat was very tender and full of flavor.There isn't really a place to sit down and dine unless you want to sit at the one table out front, it seems like more of a takeout spot. The staff is INCREDIBLY friendly. A true " your friendly neighborhood" type of feel. I really appreciated that.I will add that they are very popular, so I would recommend calling in your order in advance for pickup to save yourself what could be a 1-2 hour wait. Much easier to then just go pick it up when it's ready.Parking: It's located in the middle of a residential area, so you have to find parking along the street. Alternatively, there is a shopping plaza about half-a-block away, and you could just quickly park there if you're picking up.“
“This is a great lil joint hiding away in a not often traveled part of DTLA. It’s a small and cozy spot but the food they cook up is delicious and very good portion sizes. Nothing is crazy overpriced and the flavors of everything are spot on. We got the beef and chicken lule combo and lamb chop combo and loved it all. The char and flavor of the chops and lule was amazing. Plus the rice that comes with it was cooked perfect and I love that it comes with a sumac seasoning to add. Would definitely go back and recommend“

“We were looking for a Mediterranean spot near us via Google maps search and I was surprised that I never noticed this spot before (we come to the Sprouts next door on occasion). So, the place doesn't stand out, but the reviews seemed reasonable, so off we went. Wow! The food presentation alone put a smile on my face (pic is after I had eaten some already). Happy to say that everything tasted just as wonderful - fresh, light, tasty. My husband was impressed with the tenderness and flavor of both the chicken and beef. He had the beef kabob with humus, for our 3 year old I ordered the kids chicken kebab with rice (thumbs up for having a kid's menu!), and I had one of their specials - lentil fried rice sans meat.Apart from the food, the owner (I believe) who took our order and the cook who also served us were great. Neither overly friendly or impatient, they were a pleasure to be serviced by. They look you in the eye when speaking, are accommodating, polite, professional. Makes a difference, big time.All that to say that this hole-in-the-wall restaurant has made it to our go-to list. I came in with my mom to grab a quick bite before heading home and this place did not disappoint. Although a bit hesitant as there weren't many people inside, the food was absolutely delicious. “A recommendation from one of the workers brought me here and I can say I was decently surprised. I really enjoyed the seafood dishes such as the conch and the scallop but the star of the show for me was definitely the conch. The lamb skewers in my opinion didn't have the flavor that I prefer but to each their own. Portions are pretty big but prices are on the higher side but for the conch specifically I didn't mind. I would pay double just to eat that. The seafood quality was pretty fresh, the enoki mushroom I also enjoyed but it's sauced up and some people don't like that. The service is great and the place is tucked in the corner so not many people go. I also really enjoyed the atmosphere in there it sorta felt like home and cozy in a weird way. Overall if you're in the area or maybe even at Santa Anita Mall I would recommend you swing by to try this place out. *PLEASE TRY THE CONCH IT WILL NOT DISAPPOINT*“
“I love the vibes of this place! There’s a paper menu for you to check off what you like and your food will come with side dishes such as steamed egg and kimchi. The skewers come raw and it will slowly cook over the grill. You will also have a tray and you have the option to dip your meats in hot sauce, regular cumin or spiced cumin. Parking can be found in the back and you can also enter the restaurant through the back.“

“The foods were awesome, and my favorite was actually the chicken skin and pork intestine. The pork intestine wasn’t smelly like you get from other restaurants. The flavor of the chicken skin was sweet and crunchy. The food got here very fast and we finished all the food within an hour. It is a great place to gather up with friends!“
“Decent food for the price. We got the chicken bowl, one with rice and hummus the other with lettuce and cucumber yogurt. Both were tasty and kept us full until dinner. The hummus was good and was not too strong with any one flavor. The chicken was seasoned well and moist. The yogurt was not too bitter and the cucumber gives a nice crunch. This is a great place to get a grab and go lunch.“

I forgot to take a pic of my chicken shawarma meal but never mind--it looked exactly like the restaurant's pics. The chicken was juicy and flavorful, chopped and served over rice. The hummus was wonderfully garlicky and the salad was fresh. All of it was fresh and just so good. The server (counter service) was super friendly and even gave me a small ice cream soft serve to help me pass the ten minutes while I waited for the food prep. The space isn't anything special--really just designed for counter service and takeout but they do have a table and a few stools if you want to eat there. I brought it back to my hotel and it was still hot and fantastic. I am in this neighborhood every few months and will definitely return.“

The owner, Rubina, is the absolute sweetest person we've ever dealt with in the food industry. I never get a dry piece of meat here. It’s always juicy and tender with loads of flavor. The hummus is delicious. The rice is filling. And there’s something great about the garlic spread. I highly suggest coming here and trying it out for yourself. I’ve added this place to my queue and it will stay there.Parking: The parking lot is small but there is plenty of street parking. “There is not very much seating in the inside and it's a very small space. Luckily it was a nice day outside, so we ate there. The Lulu plate was very good. Great seasoned beef matched perfectly with the rice. The chicken gyro was just okay. I like having tzatziki sauce in the gyro and it was not present. Instead, they make theirs with a sauce similar to mayonnaise, so I don't recommend that unless you prefer a more mayo flavor. Overall, good service and sizeable portions.“
