“Interior is small but parking is decent, and I think the food is hit or miss depending on what you order. But for the most part the fried chicken katsu is a good option; the bone in fried chicken that others seem to like was a little dry for me. There is a catering menu and seemingly they are a good option for gatherings. The owners work here and are very sweet Asian couple. They will always smile and engage in conversation with you. Top Restaurant has been in business for a long time so they are doing lots of things right!“
“Do not judge this place by the exterior. There is a reason this place has been here for 20+ yrs. The value of this place and quality of food is solid for the price! There are lines during peak weekend hours so be aware. If you go during lunch (Ends at 4pm) it's cheaper for the same food, minus egg rolls and egg drop soup. They are closed on Tuesdays, so Wednesday the food is the freshest. I would avoid the turkey, but the other meats were fine. My favorite is the lamb. Of note, the peppers and red pepper oil they have at the bar lacks spicyness so I need to put a lot on and I ask for siracha sauce to help with the heat. They also have assorted spirits and sodas. The service is friendly and fast. The ambiance is causal and family friendly.“
“This place was amazing for an inexperienced KBBQ'er. It was me and my partner (Chinese and White). The staff were so friendly and helped explain what dishes were and how to eat them. They also cooked the meat and sides for us so we didnt have to stress over that part for our first time. The owner ended up serving us due to the flow of people and Chris/Kris was amazing. She let us try the house made Lemon Soju and really solidified that we would be coming back.Our other server was amazing and she took care of us majority of the night, I didnt catch her name but I also forgot my card there and she caught up to me like half a block to give it back. So sweet and above and beyond.We got a plate of Brisket and Bulgogi with two Soju bottles peach and strawberry. The house lemon one was my favorite though and we will be getting it next time we go.We street parked and payed $1.25 until 8pm hit and didnt have to pay anymore.“
“First time at Rodney's. Tried the Brisket Sandwich. The brisket was perfectly cooked, nicely smokey and tender.I didn't like his style of BBQ sauce. It was too sweet for me. I may buy some brisket by the pound to make my own sandwich. Rodney is super friendly and really seems to care about getting it right. Professional.“
“Took my father to dinner with jazz and we both liked it.Our waiter was so nice. It felt like he was waiting on All the tables. Maybe they will get more staff in the future as it seemed like a newly established. It’s on the corner, where Ixtapa Cantina used to be and there is paid parking right behind it. We both had salmon, mine with white wine and dad with beer. Food and drinks ??. The jazz band did a lot of Amy Whinehouse covers. So if you enjoy that, hop on over. Looking around, everyone seemed to be enjoying themselves. People passing by would dance their way through.We had a deal from Goldstar but if you don’t, go anyway. Given current prices, I’d say you’re getting a good deal from the regular menu. Good food and live music. ?? have fun and bring cash to tip the band. They deserve it.“

“Best barbeque I've ever eaten. As a Texan, it's a shame I have to admit it's from California. The place is take-out only, but it's a great neighborhood so eating inside or on the hood of your car is no issue. Will definitely eat again the next time I'm in the area.“

All the staff there definitely works together as a team, reason being is because everyone was doing there part in partaking each tables like a team player. Not my first time but was my cousins first time eating there and he enjoyed being there for his first time. “I’ve been going to Gyu-Kaku for 9 years now and boy have the prices progressively gone up. Happy Hour is maybe 1$ cheaper than regular prices and not much of a happy hour.It’s disappointing to see as I used to go to gyu kaku every weekend, my favorite being the Topanga mall location. Now it’s maybe once every other month, my friends feel the same, They’ve been growing and raising their prices even before how bad inflation is now.Anyways I will still always love gyu kaku, this particular experience was okay. We ordered 2 yaki shabu’s, 1 filet mignon, sukiyaki bimbimbap, and the chicken karage. The yaki shabu portions looked smaller than usual especially for the price and the chicken karage was exceptionally dry and over done.We still felt a bit hungry afterwards but we felt it wasn’t worth the price and didn’t order more. Gyu kaku is definitely somewhere you need to go atleast once for anyone whose never been,the food and meat always tastes so good! But the prices just aren’t worth what you’re getting anymore sadly.Vegetarian options: They have plenty of rice bowls, cooked vegetable options you can grill or order as small plates, replacements, highly recommend for vegetarians!“
“It was our first time there the waitress that helped us was very friendly and nice. I don’t remember her name otherwise I would stated here, but she was working on a Tuesday morning and she was also doing the bar. The food was delicious and her hospitality was very welcoming. I think it made the experience even better. Since it was our first time there she offered To give us garlic bread on the house, that was really nice of her. I’m definitely gonna come back and I will be referring friends and family. By the way, I had the short rib and the brisket with mac & cheese. The brisket was very good, but oh my God the short rib was amazing next time I’ll definitely be getting that again and I might just try the load of baked potato too“
