“Took my father to dinner with jazz and we both liked it.Our waiter was so nice. It felt like he was waiting on All the tables. Maybe they will get more staff in the future as it seemed like a newly established. It’s on the corner, where Ixtapa Cantina used to be and there is paid parking right behind it. We both had salmon, mine with white wine and dad with beer. Food and drinks ??. The jazz band did a lot of Amy Whinehouse covers. So if you enjoy that, hop on over. Looking around, everyone seemed to be enjoying themselves. People passing by would dance their way through. We had a deal from Goldstar but if you don’t, go anyway. Given current prices, I’d say you’re getting a good deal from the regular menu. Good food and live music. ?? have fun and bring cash to tip the band. They deserve it.“
“Only thing more wonderful than their tasty entrees, The crew and specifically Linda came through for us in a huge way... Holding on to our lost car key fob, which are ridiculously cost prohibitive. i.e We dropped our key during the torrential downpour on Monday Feb 5th 2024. Having exhausted all possibilities in a 24 hour period, we gave one last grasp of hope by walking into Linda's store, and after inquiring of the key, Linda reached in to her magic drawer, and pulled our out Key.... Super Thank You Linda.“
“I am an Angelino and was not aware of this sweet gem. The meat was soooo moist and tender, full of flavor. The chicken’s skin was crispy on the outside but juicy in the inside. My husband loved their pineapple coleslaw. The bbq sauce has a tad bit of kick (love it), but sweet. Definitely recommend for any true BBQ enthusiast to come and try this family owned business. Support local businesses!!!“
“Having tried the San Diego location, I was excited to try this location as well. This location had better service and tastier food. Overall the vibe was great. My one disappointment with both locations was that the sauces are so watery. They don't stand up to the tacos much so you cant really taste them. Homestate is a decent place for sure, just a tad on the pricey side“
“Nice place with some decent food, but nothing mind blowing. Considering the price paid, I've had better at food trucks and hole in the wall type of places. But it's a great place to bring people who are squeamish about eating at restaurants that might be far below their paygrade.“
“Let me say besides the food being amazing, how kind these people were. I was staying at the Hilton, don't have transportation, went walking and stumbled across this place.. it was closing time but with out hesitation they welcomed me in and let me order not only one plate but 2.. extremely grateful.. thx u !!!“
“Steak tostadas made by Baja Fresh is popular but very expensive price I had. Everyone loves it too. The Mexican food is great taste delicious than I expected. The employees were kindly & nice. So many salsa to choose add on the tostada salad. We visited for dinner. So satisfying as always.“
“After hearing rave reviews from friends about HomeState, my husband and I finally had the opportunity to experience this renowned restaurant firsthand. The food was absolutely wonderful, from the creamy queso to the hearty brisket breakfast taco, each dish surpassed our expectations, leaving us with a newfound appreciation for Texan cuisine. Also, a heartfelt appreciation goes out to Daniel & Casey for their invaluable recommendations, particularly during the chaotic rush hour and the temporary system outage. Despite the challenging circumstances, they navigated the situation with commendable urgency and grace, ensuring that everything proceeded as smoothly as possible. Their professionalism and dedication were truly remarkable, and their efforts did not go unnoticed. We are deeply grateful for their assistance and exemplary service. See ya'll next time!“
