“Always a beautiful experience. Staff is fabulous. We have a few Faves, like Sanjana, Tammy, Alda, Esteban, Roland. We’re treated very well and food is always very good. Locals meet and greet and it is fun to be recognized and appreciated. thanks everyone. We love coming in for a visit and lunch.“
“Quiet little grill hidden across the street from the entrance to Spyglass Golf Course. They serve breakfast and lunch and have a great variety of snacks and drinks. Right on the golf course so you have great views from the inside, and outside, seating. The staff was great. Very helpful and attentive to my specially ordered sandwich and were very courteous.Food came out fast and hot and made to order. Beers are in a stand-up fridge, and we're exceptionally cold. The menu had a great set of options to choose from as well.Vegetarian options: Menu had vegetarian options.Dietary restrictions: Food order is customizable.Parking: Large parking lot for the golf course and grill.Kid-friendliness: Lots of seating for well-behaved kids.Wheelchair accessibility: Two entrances are wheelchair accessible. Same with bathrooms.“
“So fortunate to live in the area and experience the hidden treasures in our backyard. Our server Augustine was hands down one the best servers we had the pleasure of meeting in a while. The weather was perfect to enjoy the deck. This was my second time visiting. The first time I had lunch which was just as good as our breakfast that morning. Definitely will be back to try other things off their menu.“
“The sort of place you stumble upon, then wonder why everyone isn’t talking about it.The food was divine. A perfect mix of flavours and delicately executed. I especially recommend the Yellowtail Crudo to start, and the lemon olive oil cake to finish. You might struggle to park but there aren’t many better places to eat in Monterey than this!Parking: On site, around the back“
“The coastal kitchen was a wonderful experience. The staff was super friendly and accommodating. At each course they explained in great detail what the particular flavor characteristics were of the outstanding prepared food that we enjoyed We did the wine pairing, which was also quite a lot of fun. I admit, I enjoy a certain style of wine. But with an open mind was able to understand a nuances of different variables, as it was paired with food. The Somalia had a great deal of knowledge, and was very skilled at explaining a nuances of the wines we enjoyed. Overall, it was a fantastic experience, pretty pricey, but well worth it if you can afford that type of thing“
“Aubergine is the best fine dining experience in Carmel-by-the-Sea. The food, presentation, ambience, and service are all of the highest caliber and well-deserving of the recognition earned by this restaurant. Aubergine was more than accommodating of my personal request for plant-based options in lieu of their traditional prix fixe menu, and they exceeded my expectations. I would have to travel to New York to another world-renowned restaurant to receive the same level of consideration and experience a similar level of culinary excellence. My wife was able to enjoy the traditional prix fixe menu options while I was thrilled by the creativity of the kitchen. She informed me later that this was the first time Aubergine had catered to a complete plant-based course for dinner. Absolutely magnifique. We were also introduced to a terrific Sauternes by the sommelier, a novelty we hadn't explored before, but now embrace. Thank you to Chef Cogley and the entire staff for making our visit so memorable. We will return. John and Rhona“
“A wonderful breakfast spot! Although this place is small, they can handle the constant flow of customers. The location itself feels very comforting and welcoming. They offer traditional breakfast along with some Mexican inspired dishes. My family enjoyed our meals, coffee and chia lattes. The service was excellent. For only two people working the tables, they are quick and accurate. Definitely come here when you’re in the area and wanting a nice hot breakfast.Parking: Free street parking with 90 minute limit“
“Absolutely LOVE this place. I had the crab and shrimp omelette with a Lou Mosa. I would recommend you come early so you can enjoy your breakfast with a beautiful view. Best Breakfast in Monterey!!!! The atmosphere is fun and warm and exciting every time I come.“
“Always delicious, always fresh. Our waiter was very knowledgeable and explained things in beautiful word pictures that truly helped guide our ordering choices. PLEASE - Do yourself a favor...get a $3 biscuit for yourself. You could share it, but you will be a little sad you did afterward. Life changing.“
“We had the greatest experience dining at the Sardine Factory of Monterey on our 22nd wedding anniversary. We enjoyed mango sorbet, served on beautifully lit ice swans, before our main courses, which simply added to our fantastic evening under the sky in the all glass Conservatory Room. Our waitress Marissa was happy, professional and knowledgeable. The sommelier Dave was so very kind and quite knowledgeable in wines and the Monterey region. We had a wonderful surprise visit from Sunjeev, who is an honored and award winning waiter that's been providing the greatest of service there for near 46 years now. Thank you Sardine Factory, owners and staff. You truly filled our evening with wonderful memories and opulence. Much love, Bill and Sara“
“Love this little place! Replaces all of our breakfast places for Monterey. Yummy breakfast for most palates, AND I added a roasted jalapeño. The coffee was good. The chef was amazing both times that we went there. But the restaurant is small and thrown together. I only care about the yummy food.Parking: There were a few street spots. Too many other customers, and I would be searching for a spot.“
“Everything was incredible! Service was excellent, food was extremely delicious in my opinion ! I can tell chef was put all his heart in every single dish and created it incredible with the best ingredients! I definitely going back again when i visit Carmel . And sorry took me so long to review this and i think this restaurant deserves my 5 stars reviews.“
“Had a wonderful dinner here. The owners are so friendly and the food was delicious. Will definitely be coming back!!! We had the beef Shawarma wrap special and the burger. As well as calamari appetizer. Everything was great. The lemon sparkling Italian soda was also really good.“
“This place is amazing. Hands down one of the best restaurants in the area if not the best.I have come here several times and I always leave happy.Fresh ingredients and care and attention to detail.Staff is always great. It is always hard for me to decide what I want when I come here because everything is so delicious!Come here you won’t regret it.“
“Amazing restaurant here in Monterey! Fantastic atmosphere and delicious food. Excellent service! Love it! Make sure you make reservation cause this place is packed and definitely a hidden gem! Loved they could make me a personalized drink on my request and I definitely appreciated it. We will be back!“
“A friend recommended this place and it sure exceeded expectations. Wait staff very friendly and helpful. Breakfast portions were were large, and my husband and I could have split something if we could have agreed on what to eat. Hollandaise sauce was spot on, NOT fake cheesy sauce. Took home leftovers. And the sweets looked so yummy. May have to go back this evening to pick up dessert.“
“We came on our honeymoon and met family. My husband and I had omelets, and my cousins daughter had Country Benedict. My great aunt had pancakes. The breakfast was amazing. My one advice is to get there early. They were a packed house. The whole time, we were there.“
“Be careful... the food is good and the portions are huge!We went for Sunday Brunch and laughter floated through the air. It felt like everyone—patrons and staff—were having a great time. There's a big indoor and outdoor space, they're both gorgeous, and they have a coffee and cocktail bar to help pass the time while you wait for your table. We'd definitely come back.Vegetarian options: They have vegetarian sausage which I didn't have, but my partner did and said it was delicious.“
“Loved this place. Just the owner and her husband. Will definitely come back again. Going to be my go-to Chinese place in Marina. So thankful my family and I tried it. She was very kind and gave us complimentary tempura. More than enough food for the four of us!!“
“A true family run restaurant that serves great food. You know it's good when most customers are locals. We had dinner, I had the filet of sole and husband had the steak. Both entrees were delicious. We will be back to try their breakfast next trip.“
“Awesome little place in Pacific Grove near the beach. I ordered the Salmon and Potato Pancake and think it was prob the single best breakfast meal I've ever had! Smoked salmon + potato pancake + crème fraiche. I also added a fried egg on top. We will def be back“
“This is a great pub, honestly one of the best pints of Guinness I've had in the US. We had some snack food, fries and calamari which was excellent. There is a separate games room with a small shuffle board and a fussball table to keep the kids entertained. Will definitely be back when in the area!“
“Memorable evening. This hidden gem is welcoming and cozy. The staff is very attentive and friendly and helped us with our choices. It was hard to decide with so many great things in the menu but we decided on squash ravioli , chicken piccata , shrimp rolls and mango mousse. The flavors were amazing.“
“Garlic Roasted Mushroomsthey were okay I wish they were dripping in garlic butter.Almost PalomaTequila Blanco, lime juice, house-made grapefruit shrubTastes exactly like a good Paloma but without the fizz of soda. Would recommendSnake River Farms Wagyu Eye of RibeyeGrilled over almond wood, duck fat fried marble potatoes, charred onion, huckleberry demi-glaceJust get it because it's that good melt in your mouth seriously, but pro move ask for a little salt to sprinkle on top it will enhance the flavors truly.Jumbo Lump Blue Crab CakesPan-seared, apple-carrot slaw, pomegranate seeds, pomegranate reductionGood, but it is sweet, I would have preferred it a little more with savory notes but I recommend it because it's a really fresh take on the crab cakeMiso Glazed Pork BellyPickled apple arugula salad, garlic chili oilThis I would order again and double it.. soo good. The salad was absolutely refreshing paired well with the rich tender pork belly. I was so mesmerized.Olo Ranch Braised Beef Short RibConfit of cherry tomatoes, vegetable sauteed spinach, pommes puree, pan jusTender TENDER TENDER I recommend ordering this everytime you go.Parking: Parking is extremely limited we were lucky enough to find parking in the parking garage for free in the evening. we drove around for about 10 min until we lucked out.“
“Fantastic experience of hospitality and cuisine! Colin was super friendly, responsive and charming. Inspired new California cuisine was delicious! We had a nice private dining room for our daughter’s Birthday. We will definitely be back!“
“I came here with my family this last weekend and wanted to make sure I completed this review based off the fantastic experience I had at this location. Desiree was extremely nice and helpful. Desiree even accommodated us by taking me to look at the table that was available to ensure that worked for my family and let me know there was another option if it did not work for us. I have to say I have never had a restaurant employee treat me that good. I really felt welcomed and taken care of.When we sat down we were assisted by waitress Autumn who was wonderful herself. Autumn was very friendly, attentive and had good knowledge of the menu. Exactly how you would like your server to be. She took very good care of us our whole visit. Overall the food, service and atmosphere were awesome. I would definitely recommend coming here when you're in Monterey. I for sure will be coming back very soon.“
“Couldn’t give it a higher recommendation. Outstanding food and service. The sweet items on the menu are particularly exceptional [We had the French pancake and the basque cheesecake]. Struggled not to order everything on the menu and stay in town another night just to squeeze in another meal here.“
“A hidden gem! My husband and I happened in for early dinner on a Thurs evening. We had originally tagged a seafood place down the street and it was crowded, loud and lacked ambiance. We turned back to Edwin's because I had noticed the sign earlier and decided to try it because it looked quaint and quiet. There was only one table seated, but the menu looked promising and the venue inviting, so we decided to chance it. The staff were attentive and delightful. The wine and beer selection was a little limited but apt. We opted for a glass of Chardonnay which was surprisingly good and paired well with our curry seafood dish with crispy garlic rice. It was a culinary delight! We were getting ready to head out and saw local talent getting ready to play and decided to stay and check it out. He too, was a delight with ample easy listening repertoire--perfect for small venue. We have a pet peeve of musicians playing too loud in a small venue (most often the case) and this guy was great and dialed in perfectly, resulting in a relaxing evening of great food and music. Don't miss this spot for a lovely fusion twist on local food fare.“
“Short review:Nice staff, they have VERVE coffee! Chicken & waffles are fire.Longer review:I had one of the best breakfasts ever years ago in Monterey. It was a place that served verve coffee & had these bomb chicken & waffles with country gravy. I always wanted to go back to that place but found out they closed. However I did some digging & found out that that former owner owned THIS restaurant & they also serve Verve coffee (which is the best coffee) & made the same chicken & waffles. We decided to go here & it did not disappoint, it was once again one of the best breakfasts I have ever had.I’m not sure how it makes sense to put together fried chicken, sweet syrup, slightly spicy country gravy & a waffle to make a perfect breakfast but it just works & is I believe a marvellous example of God’s good common Grace. There are many things that will keep me coming back to Monterey, & this place is definitely one of them.Their crab Benedict was also pretty good, & its right next to a gold course & you have a view of the ocean.“
“10/10 recommend this spot! The food was fantastic and our server, Grant, provided fantastic attention and service the whole evening (even our judgmental Shiba enjoyed him lol). He made sure we were never forgotten while sitting outside, which was especially appreciated. Definitely recommend the Bon Bon dessert too - great taste with even greater presentation. Will absolutely return here again.“
“Wow. Just wow.Let me break it down from the top. The parking, not the best. But I didn’t let that stop us. I knew good things always take a little work, so I was cool with that. The restaurant itself was small, but my gf is also small, and she’s great, so I assumed the same. When we ordered, Me and my gf both got the chicken and waffles. We figured, why not? Right? When it came to the table, it was a pretty big plate. Huge fluffy waffle with a couple thick pieces of chicken. I didn’t know where to start. So I panicked and just dumped the syrup over the whole thing. It was a great idea, which usually doesn’t happen for me so early in the morning. It was amazing. We really enjoyed it, but bummed that we heard it was closing down. Good stuff here“
“We came here for dinner and decided just to do a bunch of appetizers. It was all delicious, but especially the sliders. You can also sample most of the beers so you can be sure you like it before ordering more. The staff was incredibly nice and we had a great time. We will definitely be going back for actual entrees next time.“
“I walked in the last day of my work trip and wish it was the first. Was greeted immediately after walking in asking if I'd been taken care of yet, then given a table right away.Amy gave me a menu and took my drink order while I figured out what I wanted to eat.Lee approached me next asking if I'd been helped and offered suggestions for food and answered all my questions.I had my drink before I knew what I wanted to eat!Amazing cohesiveness here, I wish I'd found this spot on the first day of my trip.I'll definitely come back to the area and when I do, Monarch is #1 on my list!Parking: Parked in the middle of the street on a busy Friday night.“
“My first time at this restaurant. My kind of place. I ordered the Fiesta burger with their slaw. We also ordered a basket of onion rings. The food was delicious and plentiful. Only negative was our server must have had a bad day. Not very personable. I truly hope it was just because her day had been difficult. Definitely will go back.“
“Stillwater at the Pebble beach Lodge is an icon. Overlooking the 18 hole of the world famous golf course, the scenery cannot be beat.Offering both indoor and patio dining, it’s the perfect place to soak up the ambiance. The food is well portioned and typically good quality. They have great cocktails too.But honestly, the food here takes second seat to the viewsKid-friendliness: They’ll love itWheelchair accessibility: Yes it’s accessible“
“It truly is a hidden gem, we arrived thinking it was going to be overfilled with people but it was calming and easy to get a table. Service was great and the food was delicious. I had the huevos rancheros plate which was very tasteful and full of flavors, my boyfriend had the chicken and waffles. Both plates were yummy!“
“So I'll start with the positivity."The works" bacon breakfast burrito was excellent, potatoes cooked perfectly with great flavor and homemade salsa flavor bomb. Wife said her breakfast tacos were delicious same positivity on her food.Moving on to the drinks, my wife loved the orange juice however $6 for about 8oz is a little bold. I bought a $7 latte which didn't offend me by price because in all the pictures it came in a Bowl! And I was actually excited about that however they didn't have any clean bowls at the time so they gave me a regular mug which was at least only have the size and charged me full price. When I asked about it she explained and said she would remake it for me but never did, and still charged full price.I can get by all that but my son ordered the buttermilk pancakes and they didn't give him syrup we had to ask not that big of deal, then after he said he was done eating my wife went to sample his pancakes and noticed the middle of the cakes still had batter in them, not cooked fully. My son is only 11 and just didn't know any better he thought because it said buttermilk that that was normal lol, the restaurant took off $6 from the $12 price and gave him a free cookie however, one staffer tried to suggest they may have been a little undercooked I don't appreciate trying to justify it just comes off as a disagreement and there was nothing to dispute. Also if you want to make amends for a partially raw pancake you mark it completely off the bill, especially considering I only got a half coffee ?.If I could go 3.8 I would again our items tasted great just some key misses in decorum.“
“What a View, this place is awesome, the Pacific Edge was great too, we had some appetizers & dinner, we went here for my wife's birthday with our dear friends, was a great evening, good dinners, good drinks, good desserts, and a wonderful atmosphere.“
“Dined here last minute after a long day chaperoning an FRC tournament.Things I loved:- they were able to quickly accommodate our party of 10 on a rainy Friday night.- when some in our party ended up not being able to come, they didn’t give us any gruff about it. We chose to shift our seats so they could break apart the big table into two smaller dining spots- good was fantastic!- started off with the sizzling mushrooms and the Brussels sprouts - it didn’t appear to be a ton of Brussels at first because they were in a single layer on a plate versus in a bowl, but it ended up being the perfect amount, and the sauce was fantastic. The sizzling mushrooms were amazing! Sorry, forgot to snag pics of those two dishes.- fish and chips were great! Tons of crispy, flaky but not dry fish atop a bed of the most interesting fries I’ve ever seen. Imagine a steak-fry-size flat potato “wedge” but curved on both ends reminding me of a flower petal. They were really great and not soggy or floppy at all! I can’t stand underdone fries.- multiple in my party had the gnocchi two ways and thought it was dynamite. They couldn’t decide if they liked the Gorgonzola or the marinara sauce better.- Beef stroganoff and the prawn risotto rounded out our meal. There wasn’t a crumb left- Bread pudding - absolutely incredible! I love bread pudding but everywhere I go people put raisins in it. Not here. A huge chunk that was perfectly cooked all the way through. There were no mushy parts and no dry parts. Definitely some of the best bread pudding had at a restaurant ever.- I definitely recommend going but between drinks, dinner and dessert I easily spent $80 on my dinner.- waitstaff was very friendlyThings I would change:- for the price point, I was expecting a slightly different atmosphere. It felt very much like a breakfast/lunch cafe that got super popular so they started doing really great dinner dishes as well. There were cloth napkins but maybe tablecloths could have changed the vibe a bit more.- our table was sitting out in the middle of the entire dining room, which I understand because we were a larger party, but I felt a little bit like I was in a fishbowl. However, I think it was partly my fault for not requesting something towards the wall. That is just a personal preference issue, though.- not a huge wine selection, options were fine but nothing spectacular and they were out of the only Chardonnay you could get by the 1/2 bottle.Dietary restrictions: Totally accommodated my crustacean allergy.“
“We go here for breakfast frequently. The food meets my partners expectations which are high and the service is reasonable considering it is usually one gal that handles the entire restaurant. Outdoor seating is nice but service outside is a bit more challenging. We feel comfortable and just ask if we need something.Parking: There is a small lot for parking but space also on the street most of the time.“
“Dining at Tarpy’s is much more than a transcending culinary experience… its history is something to ponder… and give thanks for the extraordinary benefits we enjoy today because of those that came before us… make sure to ask for Xavier .. he will take great care of you!! We had to come back!! This time Adam did a great job also!!“
“Lovely view of calm countryside, live music at dinner time (we came around 5pm when they start serving dinner). The food enough - we tried ribs - is good, feels organic and healthy. Friendly service, overall - nice place for a quiet dinner.“
“The food was fantastic. The service was great, and the view is breathtaking. Definitely one of my favorite spots in Monterey.Parking: I did find it interesting that we had to park a little ways out and two different Pebble Beach golf carts that are used for transporting people passed us without offering a ride. One of them even passed me up after I waved to him trying to get him to stop.Kid-friendliness: The staff welcomed my children and even provided some highlighters for my daughter to color during lunch. However, the other patrons did not seem to appreciate having children nearby during lunch despite my children being well mannered, polite and quiet.“
“An unexpected amazing dinner and experience! We had the Caesar salad and beet salads and ribeye and filet for dinner. Robust portions cooked perfectly and the side twice baked potatoes were decadent but so tasty!! Service is exceptional. We will be back!“
“Delicious brunch menu. Had the avocado toast special with poached eggs and chicken vegetable noodle soup. Eggs perfectly poached. Crunchy toast. Very tasty soup filled with chicken and vegetables. Both just yummy. Ended the meal with the lemon meringue tart. Always the best. Our server was polite, efficient, and non intrusive. Can't wait to return.“
“We enjoyed the new interior atmosphere of The Covey. It's softer, warmer and more inviting. Our party of four enjoyed beet and Caesar salads, pastas and the classic hamburger. Our waiter was terrific- he treated us with the professional familiarity appreciated in a club (we are Quail members).“
“the portion size for the fajitas was very large, although the taste was pretty average for its price. i enjoyed the clam chowder and onion rings, and the seafood pasta was decent. fantastic service as well. overall, it was a good experience, but maybe i wouldn't come back besides on special occasions.“
“Jeffreys is such a cute little spot. I love sitting outside there for brunch or lunch, it's so relaxing. The food is super yum and the waitstaff was quick and attentive. I highly recommend the hot chocolate. It was super pretty and yum too!“
“HUGE menu, lots of favorites, and the specials are great! Kitchen is pretty on-point and food comes out quickly and as expected.Huge fan of their breakfast menu. Diner feel, but the atmosphere makes it much more welcoming and comfortable.Wheelchair accessibility: No issues for wheelchairs.“
“A semi-formal atmosphere with high-level service and food which is only outmatched by breathtaking views. This is a golfer's paradise, but the views of Monterey Bay are breathtaking for golfers and non-golfers alike.Come to The Bench...you will not be disappointed!!“
