My favorite stop in Placer County! This winery is just right with a mix of being: family owned with a personal touch that make you feel like a part of the family there! It is also the perfect place to take friends and family members because there is so much open seating, where you could look out on the winery as the train goes past or sit in some adirondack chairs playing cards. So this was a first time for my other half and I to explore a different vineyard outside of what we're used too. About 20 minutes northeast of Sacramento, into the hills of the gold country also known as placer county is a little historic town called Penryn. Rick took time to explain the local climate, wine choice, collaboration with Lincoln Rotary Club and the family's passion for making good wine. I enjoyed the learning experience he shared. I bought wine and olive oil... good stuff!
