“Two days later and I'm still thinking about the shukaquiles, I don't think I'll ever forget it. It was delicious! The eggs were so soft, and the pita chips so full of flavorful sauce but yet so crisp. I don't live in the area but will be sure to stop again to try more of the menu if ever I'm there.“

“This is a top go to spot for me. I’m not always around during their hours, or forget the options of places, so I get something from here about once every 6 weeks. As vegan I either get the falafel sandwich or plate. I prefer the plate. It amazes me how simple the combination of vegetables and sauces are, and yet it’s so flavorful. I feel full and healthy after eating at this joint and the people working there have such a nice vibe. If vegan they will swap out hummus for the yogurt based items.“

“Tucked away on Mare Island, this little coffee shop is amazing. They use local coffee beans, and the vibe is so relaxed. They are good friendly, with a water bowl in front, and a really neat patio in back.
The coffee shop itself is an old, kinda Victorian style house where they have transformed the whole bottom level into a coffee shop/seating area. There are photos of Mare Island from when it was a US Navy base. It's very cool.
Plus right now they have it all decorated for Halloween. Highly recommend this place. Good first date option, provides a lot of conversation topics.

“I saw someome make a TikTok about this place and immediately knew I had to add that to my list. I headed out to Berkeley on a Friday morning to try it out and I bought a friend who isnt a big fan of Thai and or Asian food. I was thankful to experience this style of northern Thai cuisine I believe the order Tanzie referred to it as. The hospitality and service was above average. I enjoyed all of my food and so did my friend. The pork jowl was agreed to be are favorite out of the all the dishes we tried. Very juicy , flavorful and just all around deliscious topped off with that crispy fried garlic. The brown rice over that soft scrambled "lava egg" was to die for paired with the savory tomato based minced pork that I ordered extra spicy of course. The star of the show that me and my friend both agreed on had to be the "prik nam pla" which I would describe as a sweet and spicy vinegar or fish sauce based dipping sauce accompanied by a nice punch of spice from the thai chili peppers. I dont have any complaints whatsoever and I will definitely be back.“

“Looking to beat the heat so we headed to Berkeley for lunch. Got the Pastrami Ruskie with Latke. Sooooo good. Huge portions. Friendly service. They were out of Prosecco so they couldn’t make me their Old Man & The Deli. Got a margarita and it was both tasty & packed a punch.“

“We had the best brunch experience ever today! The lemon ricotta pancakes along with the cheesy potatoes were delish! We sat outside on their darling little patio and listened to live music, it was so lovely. But the best part of all was the outstanding service from Maxine, her suggestions were on point and her beautiful energy was exactly what our morning needed! Will definitely be back!“

“This is the best Indian food you can get in Berkeley! (Even better than Viks) We got the Vada Pav, Masala Chai and Donne Biryani. Everything tasted great and authentic! Vada pav reminded me of homemade ones in Bombay. Owner was very nice and welcoming. We are definitely coming back for sure!“

The eggplant dish really good! It was perfectly spice I love it! My boyfriend had a wonton soup and we shared an appetizer shrimp everything was excellent! Will definitely come back!

“Best espresso of any of the highwire locations I have been too. It is a darker roast than I like, but they have a great recipe so it doesn't get sour or bitter. My only complaint, not enough seats, then again it is in a plant store, not a standalone shop, which leads to some amusing scenarios with entitled people like the scene I saw. So don't wonder far from the stand even if there is a line.
An upper middle class woman took a drink, sipped from it AND THEN ASKED "is this the oat latte for Sarah?" They called out the name of the drink and the person who it was for, CAPPUCCINO FOR JOYCE. Who takes a sip from a drink and then ask if it is yours. They did not apologize, making excuses, and saying oops is not an apology. This after having taken a sip from it. I would have charged her for it if I worked in that stand.
But the baristas there are super nice and friendly, even answering my questions about their espresso ratio etc. would“

“We came across this incredible place about 4-5 months ago and have been hooked ever since. The owners Naomi and Dan are wonderful people and they create daily specials that they run out of almost every day because the food is that delicious!!! One of my favorites is Tuesday special: breaded pork chops with Mac& Cheese with gravy! My picky 4 years old LOVES their Mac & Cheese!!!! She asks for it every day LOL I love their fried Brussel sprouts !!!My husband loves their smoked andouille and chicken gumbo!! The soups are made from the scratch and are very yummy! Cream of cauliflower is our favorite and we also love others : mushroom spinachoke ( which is spinach and artichoke), southern chicken succotash. They have a lot of different soup which we haven’t event tried all yet. The soups change daily so check every day foe their soup special. Their po’ boy sandwiches are amazingly delicious as well! We love oyster po’ boy and sausage po’ boy and shrimp po’ boy all are delicious! Saturday 8-10:30 only they have yummy dessert beignets but you gotta call ahead coz they sell out of them fast!!! And the rice and beans special which they serve on Saturday is delicious! You can’t go wrong with ANY of their food but you CAN go wrong if you’ve driven and haven’t given them a chance! Try them today you won’t be sorry!!!“

“Just had my 3rd dining experience this morning and all 3 breakfast meals have been fantastic! As a person on the carnivore diet, I find it refreshing I can order an all protein meal and be completely satiated without paying an arm and a leg. Eggs were scrambled perfectly and the bacon was delicious. And who could have thought a simple burger patty could taste so good. Must be a magic griddle! Highly recommend! Oh, and service is amazing. “My favorite cafe in Berkeley! Vibes are immaculate, always busy (for good reason) but you can sit outside in lovely Strawberry Creek Park. Coffee is delicious, and I love the cheddar and scallion scones. I love to come here with a book and hang out in the park. Also there are always cute dogs!

“I'll preface this by saying that I'm not even really a cupcake gal, but fox and fawn has truly converted me. I dream about these cupcakes. They're always perfectly moist, never too sweet, great crumble, so flavorful - the perfect, perfect treat!
I come here religiously at least once a week to enjoy one, along with an iced vanilla black tea. My husband and I also served fox and fawn cupcakes at our wedding and our guests could not stop raving about them! Ps the gals who work there are always so sweet.“
“Idk if there is food but the cocktails are stellar. The atmosphere is chill yet fun! A lot of places to sit too. It has an outdoor patio with a firepit as well aa a fireplace inside. I came the day after Christmas and loved seeing the Xmas decor. Definitely will return.“
