“I came across Playa Provisions when in town for business. It was a short Uber from the airport, so I figured I'd give it a try. This place is an absolute gem! It is a unique setup that has everything you'd possibly need from morning until late at night: Cafe in the front for coffee and fresh baked good, as well as full breakfast menu. Later in the heat of the afternoon, take a break from the beach (right across the street) and enjoy hand scooped specialty ice cream cones and shakes. Oh look, it's dinner time... and Playa Provisions opens their dining room and bar, some of the best, most relaxed ambience you'll find for miles around. But don't let the casual setting fool you, this is some incredible, elevated cuisine. Chef owners Nick and Brooke (who you might recognize) crafted a menu that's I've been eating my way through, and have yet to find a dish that's not delicious. You've been eating and drinking all day, and are exhausted? Don't leave yet! Wander into the back 'secret' whiskey bar, (Grain Whiskey Bar) and enjoy hand crafted cocktails from award winning bartenders (no, literally), in a gorgeous wood laden atmosphere. I consider myself a foodie, and try as many different restaurants and cuisines as I can. And yet, Playa Provisions remains my favorite restaurant in LA (and that's saying something, considering the amazing places in LA). Run, don't walk, to Playa Provisions. You'll thank me.”

“Great Lebanese food! I grew up eating Lebanese food and I am thrilled to find a good restaurant nearby. Delicious chicken kabob, falafel, fatoush salad, hummus and baba ganoush. Highly recommend! Baklava to finish off was perfect.”

“My favorite sushi place in LA!! Such a hidden gem. Been coming here for 3.5 years, and it’s still my favorite sushi spot I’ve been to in LA. Perfect balance of price and quality. The food is super fresh and the price and service is really good. I take all my out of town guests here. Sometimes it’s a bit of wait, so factor that in beforehand. An absolute must to try!!!”

“Long layover at LAX but want to go outside away from the crowds and airplanes for an hour or so? Get an Uber and go here! (after Covid of course). You could also take the Beach Cities Express shuttle to Manhattan Beach, but almost none of their restaurants are RIGHT ON the beach like this one. Before going here, make sure your cellphone works because you'll want to catch an Uber/Lyft back to LAX because bus service is not good. If you have more time, walk to downtown El Segundo it's cute and easier to take a taxi or bus from there back to LAX.”

“After a day at Playa Del Rey beach, we walked over to The Shack for a quick dinner. The burgers were so good (even the kids agreed)! The pineapple burger and its teriyaki sauce was amazing. Will definitely be back!”
