Need to add an additional hot sauce in the bag (fat boys need the extra "Crystals" lol) Eat there once a month when Im working in the area.. if you can call 1st, they cook to order if your in a Rush.. Definitely my Go To for lunch ?“
“TLDR: It's the most reliable fish and chip store. I've tried this place at various times in a more than 5 year span and it has always been good. Can and will always recommend. Fish: Batter isn't too thick, and the fish has a flaky solid bite. Crispy on the outside and chewy on the inside with seasoning that won't overpower the mouth. Shrimp: The same solid battering with the same seasoning profile. Shrimp was not overcooked and it provides a different texture compared to the fish. Fries: Fries are fries. It's nothing special, but they didn't mess it up. Clam Chowder: Rich, creamy, loaded with seafood, and it can surprisingly compete with the better clam chowders around town. Service: It's a food truck. You order, you pay, and you get your food. It's not hard to mess it up. Ambiance: The picnic benches under the umbrellas around the truck isn't bad given the San Francisco climate. The tables are sometimes sticky though because they're probably not wiped as much.“
“Went in January 2023. I don't live in the Bay anymore, but out of all the fish and chips places I've visited in SF, this is THE one. The best one. Not complicated, very straightforward fish fry. The beer batter is crispy beyond perfection and the cod is just tender and holds its juice very well. Fries are cut big. The best part is, you only need one order for two people. Their serving sizes are huge and well worth the money! Can't wait to go back! Delicious.“
“We came to eat dinner at California Fish Market Restaurant because of seafood cravings and saw their menu had several seafood items. It didn't disappoint! First of all, the service was spectacular. The server gave us a lot of attention and even double checked whether or not one of the items (a roe pasta) we ordered would be okay for us after describing it. He offered to switch it out in case we didn't like it (we didn't have to - it was delicious). We ordered some raw miyagi oysters, the scallop crudo, a lobster roll, and a fish roe pasta. Everything was tasty. The lobster roll had a slight spicy kick to it, which was a bit different than I expected. The restaurant itself has a nice ambiance, with indoor and outdoor table seating as well as a bar area. Parking can be a little tough in the North Beach area but you can find parking if you don't mind walking a bit. Overall, good experience and would come back.Parking: Street parking around the neighborhood, mostly metered but free after 6pm and on Sundays.“
“Decent place for a healthier meal that leans into the fast food genre. The food was tasty although I felt the portions were small. Service was friendly and quick. The atmosphere was very cafeteria like and bare. Definitely a place to go eat and leave, no reason to stick around.“
“The burgers were alright, but the fish and chips were delicious—perfectly crispy, not greasy, they were yum. We got them to go, and when we sat down found that one of our orders was missing. I went back to ask, and they were able to bring it out no problems, plus they threw in some coleslaw. Overall a solid, yummy choice for lunch.“
“This place is located right on Pier 39. Park in the structure rather than the street. Car break-in are high jn this area.Expect to wait in line on weekends. Bread bowl clam chowder was good. Sodas had free refill but not for coffee. Staff were helpful. Limited indoor dining. It's not good for groups. Outdoor dining is also available.Parking: Avoid parking in the streets. Park in the structure to avoid break-ins.Kid-friendliness: Family friendly environment.“
“I got the fried catfish and oysters with potato salad. Catfish and oysters were good, batter was crispy and nice... I'd say 4/5.Potato salad was mid, a 3/5 for that. The lady at was very nice, had good service and you can tell she was running the whole place by herself taking orders and running the kitchen but the food came out great overall so good on her.“
“We stopped in got some Fish & Chips (cat fish) and Onion rings and soda.As a very picky Aussie who loves good Fish & Chips most stores here in the US I’d score at a 6/10 but this little hole in the wall shop it’s easy an 8/10 the chips where good size the fish was average size for all the US stores I’ve tried but this little store the batter was crispy and the fish cooked perfectly the onion rings where good the Chips where very good but I feel a few extra minutes in the oil would have made them a perfect Crispy outer and hot and fluffy“
“I went here for the first time as a lover of fish and chips and we had a good experience. The cod combo was a bit pricey but the food quality and taste was good overall and reminded me of the traditional fish and chips you get in London. I know we will be coming back again. As there is limited places in the Bay that you can get good quality fish & chips, we found that this was a good option.“
“The only disappointment I had from here was that they were out of gumbo when I went the last time... I'm from Louisiana originally, and that gumbo is comparable to any bowl I've ever gotten there... on top of that, they're incredibly friendly and generous...Vegetarian options: Fried okra, Mac and cheese, jalapeño poppers, banana pudding, French fries, hush puppies“
“This is the original place that has been at Richmond for 20 years. The building was sold so they have now moved to this sports bar. The food is still the same great flavor, just perfect in every way. There are a lot more indoor seating as well and you have more drinks option as it is in a bar.“
