“What a find! I don’t give out these sort of compliments lightly but their al pastor is off the charts good.! I had the Al Pastor super burrito and it was amazing but I’m sure everything here is good. Also super nice vibes. My new go-to spot in Richmond.“

Súper Churros Food Trucks •
Andrade, avenida 23rd Street, Richmond

“OH MY WORD! Warm, soft on the inside, crispy on the outside. Great ratio of cinnamon and sugar and they have warm filling options. They sell fresh hand made Churros here, bananas and even Tacos. Tiny little enclosed cart on the Corner of 23rd, so tiny that I drove by and missed it twice. Playing loud music that was a nod back to when my parents were younger, love songs. You walk up order through a side window and then wait to be called to pick up this decadent dessert. Totally worth the wait and trip. The churros can be ordered with no filling, individually or in bags. Fillings are Cajeta(similar to caramel), Vanilla or Strawberry. My son opted for the Cajeta. The filling was abundant, warm and just oozed rich caramel. So worth the trip to Richmond. We went out on a cold rainy night and it was just what our souls needed.“

Golden Gate Bistro Food Truck Fast Food • $
601 23rd St, Richmond

“For many years our workplace had a generic food truck onsite that served up traditional tacos, burritos, and the occasional weekly specials like loaded nachos. They had pre-made rice plates too. The quality was decent but after a while its possible to get tired of the same-oh, same-oh.One day I began seeing a red food truck from my office window, as opposed to the plain unmarked white one. It turns out to be Golden Gate Bistro, who specializes in burgers made to order.I tried both the Akaushi Cheeseburger and Grilled Chicken Sandwich and can recommend both. Akaushi is from Japanese Brown cows, and one of several sources of Wagyu. It'll cost more than In and Out or Habit Grill but its justifiable with the juicy burger. I also love their thick-cut, perfectly seasoned fries. If burgers aren't your thing, they also offer up smoked ribs, Impossible burgers, and the usual Mexican favorites like Quesadillas.“

“Gotta give props to Curbside Kitchen and their flavorful Filipinx inspired burgers! Love how they are representing the PI culture and their food truck is conveniently available next to Armistice Brewery, which has great ambiance. Perfect food pairing with beer! The owners are nice and it took about 10 min for them to whip up my signature Curbside burger, which has Tocino (Filipino bacon) and it was absolutely delicious and filling. The beef patty was hot and flavorful, the brioche bun was a nice bite, the pickled veggies gave a nice acid pop to tickle the tastebuds- everything was hot and fresh and the portion was just enough. Will try their lumpia and other items when I'm back - they also do catering with an extended menu!“

Tacos El Trompo Tacos • $$
1170 23rd St, Richmond

“Haters be hating but the vibe and the Al Pastor tacos are great in this street food' stall! The tacos are street style (small) but they were generous with the meat. The al pastor is thinly carved right off the skewer into the tortillas to order. We love that! They will ask you if you want grilled onions and sliced fresh pineapple spining at the top of the skewer. Say "YES" to both and ask for grill jalapeños if you like em. We added our own toppings from the salsa table, sat on stools and watched them work as we gobbled up the tacos. Sitting there, we felt like we were back in Mexico.$3/taco is a little pricy but we'll pay it again.“
