We were 8 and none of the food runners ever knew who ordered what. They had to ask on every plate they brought. Not just our table but others as well. I don’t know if they have busboys as our table was never cleared. Plates upon plate stacked up. No one asked if we wanted a second drink and the glasses were never picked up. When we ordered dessert we had to move the 16 empty drink and water glasses to one side, gather the bread plates, wipe everything down and wait for our desserts. It was a busy night but not too busy for bad service. I kinda expected more than diner service at such an expensive restaurant.“

I ordered the onion soup and beef tartare. Supposedly onion soup is their signature dish, but it was really salty, I was a bit disappointed…. Because it was a $20 bowl of soup. The beef tartare was excellent, it would be nice if they offer one extra slice of bread and some more salad leaves. I was happy that they have half bottle of wine that I can order. Suddenly I thought of Pasadena Old Town, which I often went to when I was studying. I hadn’t been there for a long time. The car drove into Old Town and finally found a roadside parking. The toll was an old coin-operated type. I didn't see coins during this trip, and even banknotes were rare. Fortunately, there is an app on the toll that allows you to pay directly. , quickly download the app and pay with a credit card. You can only park for 2 hours, so just browse around as you like.The restaurants in Old Town are completely different from what they used to be. I didn’t know any of them, but I happened to see Agnes Restaurant & Cheesery, a cheese specialty store with bright and clean windows. It was small and elegant. “Historical Pasadena restaurant that some people forget about. I hadn’t been here for years until this evening. I’d give 5 stars, but my pork chop was dry and little overcooked. Everything else was wonderful, including the drinks. It’s very intimate inside, but as the restaurant fills up it gets quite loud. The patio is covered and heated, but you may find yourself having to talk over the nearby tables or road noise. Valet parking only, $8 at the time of this review. There is street parking available on Fair Oaks though.“

“First time trying this place, I brought my Aunt and wife for lunch and the ambiance is great open concept with heaters outside if it's cold but the decor is great also the music playing gets you in that relaxing mood. Service is all about the customers and if you have any questions everyone is willing to help. Menu is great because everything is made fresh and if you get the app while you are there, they have a point system and getting points also gives you certain items either free or on a discount. I got the app and in return we received free order of fries, they were delicious they also gave us free fried chips and pickles they made there and I'm not a fan of pickles but they might have changed that because I couldn't stop eating them. My wife and Aunt had the Southwestern chicken salad looked very good and I had the chopped chicken salad that was very tasty as well. To drink we all had the blackberry lemonade and it was very good. I can honestly say we will be back again and try other items on their menu. I didn't get to take pictures of my wife's and aunt's salad I was to busy eating mine, haha. “I recently moved to the area and this was our first time at The Proper Restaurant but it most certainly won't be our last. Everything ... and I mean everything was excellent! I started out with the Proper Clover Club cocktail and it was so refreshing and delicious. My husband and I then shared the white chicken chili which was equally delicious. For our entrees, my husband ordered the miso salmon which was out of this world and I got the chicken piccata. The chicken was cooked perfectly, lightly breaded and the pasta was tossed in a wonderful lemonny piccata. I also had a Malbec which was so smooth, I wanted to order the whole bottle (but alas, I did not). And since everything else was so good, we couldn't leave without ordering dessert -- the warm butter toffee cake. My mouth is still watering thinking about it. “I once had a bad experience at the Burbank location. However this place seems to have gotten their act together. The food was fine a little small but fine. But the drinks, drink menu and bartenders were impressive. Attentive bartenders despite the ample size of this place. Knowledgeable too. I had 2 penicillins and a Hemingway daiquiri. My associate had a sidecar bourbon and wine. I've had drinks at the bar and outside where the bartenders open up a window and you are served from the outside. Pretty cool“

They have a great kids menu with options for picky eaters, frozen lemonade etc. Recommend the mexi cali taco and the Philly cheese steak! So good!“
“We've come here a few times and the food and drinks are generally pretty good. Decent ambiance and looks like it was originally a house that was converted into a restaurant. Making reservations can be a bit of a process. Rarely will someone pick up the phone, but there is a way to make reservations online through their website which does require a credit card deposit and for you to sign up with this reservations app. Some items on the menu are a bit overpriced as some other reviewers mentions, but we would definitely come back.“

“La Grande Orange remains at the top of the "relaxed" food chain. It's not a dress up fancy and go to dinner kind of place, but if you're looking for some good eating, you'll find it here. I eat a lot of chicken sandwiches and this one is right up there with the best! The brussel sprout salad garnered rave reviews too. Delicious I am told by my daughter. She suggested this restaurant just for the brussel sprout salad! The whiskey selection was pretty wide, but sadly my choice of Bookers seemed to finish off a bottle (according to the bartender) and my pour was pretty minimal. Other than that, everything was perfect ... oh, except no cookies . Those salty, chocolate chip cookies are amazing! But no cookies ...“

They gave me a paper cup, only filled it halfway and it was luke warm when they gave it to me. I didn't complain. I just drank it. But why did I give that guy a $5 tip for that lame drink? idk, I guess I was feeling festive LOL. I should have asked them to remake it. I think that's a theme here. “This was my first time at the Raymond. I subtracted 1 star for service. It wasn't bad, just could be polished up a tad. Plates were left on the table between courses necessitating the server to clear them. The food was very good. It's not fine dining—does not pretend to be so—it's more akin to the casera vibe. It's as if you were eating at a friend's home, albeit a friend that really knows how to cook. We sampled the chicken and the pork chop. The chicken was outstanding. As we all know, chicken is a challenging protein to cook perfectly. And it was. It arrived hot and juicy and expertly seasoned. My comment on the pork is only representing my own flavor profile; I found it to be needing a bit more pan sauce. And, for me, the Dijon mustard came on a bit too strong and overwhelmed the delicacy of the subtle pork flavor. We really enjoyed the ambience. Both outside and inside were a comfortable environment to enjoy a nice, un rushed meal. We will return.“
