“A fabulous reprieve from the insanity that is Disney mania in Anaheim! Tucked away off the main street, they have gorgeous indoor and outdoor dining options. I wandered into Colony Wine Merchant after walking 2 miles north during my recent trip out West for a concert. The staff there welcomed me with open arms and explained their concept. Colony Wine Merchant is a wine retailer, restaurant, and wine school. I settled in at the bar and watched regular after regular waltz in on a Friday night, escaping the unexpected drizzle that evening. Without a doubt, they were offered the flight of the week, or their usual wine as they reviewed the menu or waited for friends and family to join. I had a glass of white wine and ordered the marinated olives and the citrus & fennel salmon. Both were highly recommended by the staff. As I read my book and leisurely ate my dinner, I couldn't help but feel so at peace. The dimly lit dining area, beautiful artwork and free-flowing conversations felt like a cozy dream! I sat for hours and never felt any pressure to leave or order more. When it was time to check out, they dropped the most delicious piece of chocolate on my receipt and I happily went back to my room to sleep. I would HIGHLY recommend this restaurant for friends to catch up, a nice dinner date with a partner, or a cozy solo dinner! This was the perfect definition of a "girl dinner"!“

We started with the mushroom app. So good, crab stuffed and a great sauce (asked for more for my steak) we all got small side salads, which was nothing too special. “My wife and I came here on a Saturday night and there were maybe about 3 other tables occupied. There was live music which was great. We didn't see anyone working so we sat ourselves in a booth and patiently waited for someone to take our order. Ended up ordering the botana la palma and ceviche de pescado. About 5-10 minutes later we were informed there were no more fish for the ceviche, so we decided to go with shrimp instead. The service was a bit slow or non existent. Maybe because the restaurant was hosting a paint&sip on the other side and required the waitress' attention. Nonetheless the food was amazing! Seafood tasted fresh and full of flavor. Where it went a bit wrong was when we got our bill. I typically just double the tax for a 20% tip, but didn't realize until afterwards that 1. The tax was off and 2. We got the wrong bill. The botana la palma was $25 and ceviche i believe was around $19, but was charged $25 for sashimi de atun azul. The tax was only $2.49 so our tip was unfortunately lower than intended (sorry, I was tipsy). My fault for not checking, but I was in a rush. Overall, would definitely come back, but will double check my bill.“

The agua frescas come in the big margarita schooner glasses. Not sure if they have free refills but I don't think so. I liked my tacos crunchy so I asked for them well. The chips were crunchy and not stale, the guac taste fresh. The waiter was attentive and checked on us a few times. Overall it was a good experience.Parking: It's in a shopping center and there is plenty of parking.“

“We took a train ride on a Saturday afternoon and got off to eat lunch. We walked around decided where to eat and happy we walked in to this rustic place. They were very nice and attentive to getting us seated. We ordered fish and chips, chicken sandwich, side salads and the steak baked potato. We shared the baked potato and it was a good portion with the side salad. The fries were enjoyed by all. We also ordered the brownie that came with ice cream and melted marshmallow which we shared again. The drinks were also pretty good. The atmosphere was not too loud and they have TVs for all to enjoy. Really liked that they served the water in a western motif with shorter glasses. We have also heard they have live music on Sundays.“

Besides that we would return but without the garlic fries. After getting a response from the owner I was corrected by saying that they don't have garlic fries, they have truffle fries.Even more troubling because they tasted garlicky and way over seasoned with that truffle flavor that you added.Therefore I stand corrected.Truffle fries....“

Patience was key and the bar and wait staff are ? Champs for working so hard on a Sunday St PADDY'S day. Beer and alcohol service for that day was also available outside on the patio. Enjoyed a cold one streetside with other friendly folks waiting to get a table. Once we were seated the wait staff was fast and polite. Drink order came around fast and surprisingly the food was just as fast too. I highly recommend this place for the fish and chips. Great batter, comes out crisp and light, good tarter sauce and their coleslaw is just the way I like it. Better yet they have one of my favorite Irish Cream Ales on hand Killkenny. Great Red Ale which is always on tap here throughout the year...Definitely coming back. My wife had ordered the same food dish and big thumbs up from her too...she doesn't drink alcohol so she ordered a Shirley Temple to which they served in a large beer ? mug which made her happy too. Would absolutely recommend this place as there is a great bar and restaurant atmosphere and setting in this quaint downtown setting of La Verne. A shout out to manager Anthony who was serving beer on the pation and showing great hospitality to everyone outside.Parking: Small downtown area next to college so parking is a little competitive depending on time of year and time of day and which day of the week. There is a lot to the east that has free parking.“

The Alfredo wasn't that great as it was way too salty. The wings was good too but not too different from other places. We also ordered 3 Fish bowls (strawberry, peach and pomegranate). Being a 16 time world champion spider stomper i felt alive again for the first time in 35 years. I got really tired after about 14 hours of play and hopped into the jacuzzi in the back and lit up a dart. I started to get hungry so I ordered a charcuterie board and some oysters to the jacuzzi through the mobile app. Wednesdays are Warhammer Wednesdays where everyone brings their 40K setup, such a tight community. I'm not much of a drinker, but they have a stellar collection of exotic kratom selections (as well as some performance enhancing pills if you know who to ask, will keep you bricked up for days lmao). Well anyways, I had a pretty good time and I'm glad to see Glendora clean up a bit in recent years :)“
