I don't live in San Diego but I've been here a few times when I visit a couple times a year. This spot is consistently good and I live in NYC so I'm picky about my coffee.The service is a bit slow and I do not recommend sitting outside since the airplanes fly by frequently and you can barely hear when they do. After we landed in San Diego, we drove to Bird Rock Coffee Roasters to try their coffee. We ordered cappuccino and dark chocolate mocha and they were both delicious. The baristas were all very nice and interior was very homey. We loved their espresso cup so we bought it as well! Hopefully, they open in Houston sometimes soon!

I was worried the vanilla bean latte would be too sweet but it wasn’t. It has just a hint of sweetness. Came out at a temperature you could immediately start drinking which is slightly too cold for me. The macchiato came out about the same temperature. Everything came out super fast.
