“A friend of ours was raging about this little pizza place he found in San Jose. So of course we had to check it out. The restaurant is on the smaller side but if you get there early, you should be able to get a table. They have a bar and TV's for those sports enthusiasts. The owner, and staff are very friendly and helpful. More importantly, the pizza was delicious! I love the thin crust. You can order what's on the menu or create your own pizza. We will definitely be back“

Although it is in San Jose downtown which is a rough area but San Pedro Square stands out.They have multiple food options, various cuisines from different countries, coffee shop, bars, a small shop etc. Everything is self service.Tons of seating options both indoor and outdoor.Also they have quite a few security guards near outdoor seating area for your peace of mind.I always love the vibe of this place. The food here is good, it's solid. They offer appetizers, bowls, and more. My favorite items were the lumpia and the bayrito! The bayrito is huge and packed full of tots and meat (I had the kalua pork). The bowls were all good looking and the portions are generous. Overall, a solid spot for bar-like food.“

The line to order was a bit of a mess, but the food looked worth it.After getting a couple chicken sandwiches, I can confirm that the food was worth it. I went pretty conservative on the spice level (0 for one sandwich, and 1 for the other). I’d probably bump it up next time.A nice addition to the spicy sandwiches is the ability to use the packets of provided honey to make the sandwiches a sweet and savory combo. It was pretty nice.My one complaint is the fries. They were pretty bland and unremarkable.“

“This was our first time dining here and we had an amazing experience! If you're not sure what restaurant to dine at in Vietnam Town, you definitely want to check this spot out! The net egg rolls (must try!!) have such a slight and delicate crisp, making every bite so satisfying! Their pho dac biet was so aromatic and packed with meat! The fried chicken rice plate was so tender and paired so well with the fish sauce for a burst of umami flavor! Their taro salad was something I've never tried before, and was so tasty! The fried taro balances well with the tanginess of the salad and so addicting to eat! And lastly the shaking beef was so juicy and flavorful and loved the sauce! The portions are so generous! The restaurant itself is very cute and clean! We loved the lantern decor! We received great service and were informed about the popular menu items. Overall it's a fantastic spot to dine with family and friends! There are so many restaurants in Vietnam Town, and it can be so hard to pick where to eat, but you definitely want to check this spot out! We will definitely be back! Since it's located in a busy plaza, parking can get crazy especially during the lunch hour. But since people are coming and going for lunch, it's fairly easy to find a parking spot. My friends and I hit this place up every weekend and I have zero regrets about stumbling upon this hidden gem in San Jose. “Haven't had such fluffy buns filled with succulent and flavorful cuts of meat in a while. A friend and I tried their Braised Pork belly Buns, Shoyu Pork Buns, Shaking Beef Buns, crispy tofu buns, Angry bird bowl (off-menu), and mango lassi. Most everything was great, especially the braised pork belly and shoyu pork buns. The tender soy marinated cuts of pork really hit the spot, and I loved the ají verde sauce that came w the shoyu pork bun. The shaking beef reminded me of the sweet and savory korean bbq meats, and the crispy tofu bun had a hickory bbq flavor. I really enjoyed the angry bird bow! It's an off menu item with aromatic fried rice and spicy sautéed chicken. So good! Mango Lassi was a nice smoothie to wash it all downOur host was very kind and informative. The business is run by young chefs and they seem very honest and open to advice! Bun Me Up is located in the Tiki Pete Bar, good music and great place to chill at night.“

If you are looking for a sit down style restaurant with table service, this might not be the place for you. If you are looking for somewhere with a bar top or tables to sit at and plenty of TVs, then this is it. They have a small covered patio as well.“

Guac: 5/5 Simple, yummy, perfect amount of seasoning imo Empanadas: 3.5/5 They were good but didn't stand out compared to other dishes I tried Fish tacos: 4/5 Fish was crispy, very simple and delicious Birria: 5/5 I can't wait to go back to get this again. So cheesy. It's made with lamb so if you don't like the taste of lamb, I wouldn't recommend it. But it's insanely good. Flan: 3.5/5 Loved the flan (i would give that a 4/5) but I didn't care for the strawberry sauce Bunuelos: 3.5/5 Can't go wrong. Warm, cinnamon sugar donut holes Crème brûlée: 4/5 I've never had a corn crème brûlée! We loved it. I'm the sweeter side. Churros: 3/5 Nothing crazy. I personally prefer cinnamon sugar so this was a bit plain for me. My friends also really loved their mole and pozole. I tried a bit of their dishes and everything tasted really good. But he went above and beyond by sharing local restaurants and additional breweries in the South Bay to try. I now have new ideas to explore for many weekend to come! “Went for the weekend to San Jose to watch the 49ers game and we decided to pick Javi's as our bar for the night. Everyone was so nice and welcoming. We can tell everybody there were regulars, but no one treat it us like outsiders. We had a blast we got to talk and laugh with some regulars. We had so much fun that We forgot our credit card. Lisa went out and beyond to contact me to let me know. I already thought she a was wonderful bartender but she blew my expectations. We definitely want to go back when ever we are in San Jose. I would say from either socializing or the event they have throughout the week etc. It really does have a community vibe. Always a good time here! Some super attentive and moves along efficiently at the bar and line, then some taking a bit too long bs'ing instead of taking care of the longer line. In the side building of San Pedro square, but still enough food in the one building do you didn't want to walk across the area for more.“

The place where the "good fellas" would kick it around 3pm. This is where the PTA moms would come through before Service: Friendly smile. The bartender seems to know all the locals. Food: i have yet to eat here since the drinks it what I normally go for.. Drinks: they have a selection of 5 different local IPA's as well as the standard beers found in most bars. Their cocktails are well mixed especially their old fashion. During my visit I ordered a Glenfiddich 14 year and it was a deep pour. Needed to step out a few times to get my bearings straight. Overall: 5/5 totally worth the visit. Prices are inexpensive and the local crowd makes everyone feel like family.“
“Went on a Friday night but early evening : and there was surprisingly only about 4 groups there. Was expecting it to be busier? It is downtown SJ and you do need to find parking but we did not have issues finding free parking. Service was good . They kept it coming. We went to buffet table. It had an ok selection . Meats we had : about 10 different varieties of steak, beef, chicken . Also had a pork sausage . Very similar to Fogo. But got an additional star for not being as crowded. Was able to enjoy the date!“

I especially like the majority of seating in booths and large spacious table layout that did not feel loud or crowded, even though the restaurant was nearly full. I also appreciate that there weren't TV's everywhere (except in the bar area) which can very easily distract a conversation. So Jack's is a good place to have a chat!“
