Stopped here for the first time because I was craving albondigas soup and a few carne asada tacos- Upon entering I was surprised with the beautiful brightness of color and decorative interior! I made a good decision because the food was really delicious! The Albondigas soup had really good flavor in the broth and instead of a few large meatballs that you usually find in the soup this one had about eight smaller meatballs which I enjoyed as they were quite good. We stopped at Taco King (for the 2nd time in last 1 year) on the way to LA. We specifically took a detour to eat at Taco King based on our experience previous time when we ate here during our trip to Santa Barbara earlier this year. Food: ***** (thats 5 stars out of 5). Their chips are the best ever in the whole world... warm, freshly fried, with spices on them to make them delicious. Salsa.. oh what can I say... many choices available for self service. Taco King is our new favorite Mexican restaurant in SLO. The food is absolutely delicious, and the service is incredible. They have great vegan and gluten free options, and they are knowledgeable in their ingredients and helpful on how to order for dietary restrictions. The ambience is warm and inviting. We drove by this place for years, not realizing what a hidden gem it was. Can't recommend it enough! They have a fresh salsa bar as well. 10/10 would recommend!
