“It was our first visit and it is a stunning venue, even in the winter with the roses trimmed. The food is fresh and the tea is delicious. At the start of service, our water was refilled without prompting. As service went on, our tea went cold and water service needed to be requested as well as the warm up. There were mishaps that were witnessed with large parties seated in the wrong areas and needing to switch. The frenzied activity was distracting at times.”

“I’ve been a diehard loyalist to the Arts District Pizzanista, and it’s still so odd to me that they opened one in sleepy San Marino, but no complaints from me! The slices are the same taste and quality as their AD counterpart, and the vibe is as chill as the area that it’s in. It’s a must for a casual lunch if you’re in the area.”

“Great little pizza place with fast lunch service. Pizza was good, price was right, and the store is clean. They accidentally overcharged me by $0.50, which they realized when they gave me my slices, and immediately offered a cash refund. No need since they deserved that as additional tip.”

“On a Sunday afternoon in March, my sister wanted to try the Japanese pancakes so came here for lunch. We parked in front on the street. Inside interior looks nice with tables and cute stuff at the counter. The staff seem nice and we got seated right away. The menu was easy to read so I ordered gyudon beef with rice and my sister ordered the original soufflé pancakes. My dish came first and everything was really good. Then the 3 pieces of pancakes arrived and it was fluffy and light after I took a bite. Next time I will try other items. I hope they get more business.”

“Came by for a study sesh with a pal Drink- -Cold Brew: it's very light. Pal appreciated it since it's 3p and we're drinking coffee and studying and also.. coffee runs through our veins... BUUUT I prefer it to be stronger. Also their lids are a bit drippy, or maybe only we got those lids?? Ambiance- -relaxed and comfortable whether inside/outside. There seem to be enough outlets, but it's a good mix of people studying/reading/working and people hanging out and it works! Worth a try though I know I haven't tried their food food just yet. It's a bit out of the way for me so their coffee doesn't draw me. But I'll be by likely again and will try for some fooood!”

“The Huntington needs no introduction but the renewed and greatly expanded Japanese and Chinese gardens are amazing. In between is the Jade Court Cafe. Does what it says on the tin: large open air courtyard with plenty of tree shade and quiet corners. Fast self-service food counter. Great Korean Chinese food delivered to your table. Brilliant!”

“I came here with my family that lives in San Marino. What a gem to have in the neighborhood. Lunch for 7 and everything was consistently delicious. My favorites were the salmon skin salad, regular chawanmushi, and the uni pasta (a special). They have lots of big booths that can fit 8 people.”

“Loving couple who provide hearty food with fresh ingredients and quality food. Got to try their daily combo (only Monday to Friday) that changes menu every day. 3 dishes with good rice plus Cantonese slow cooked healthy soup under $30. It's a steal!”

“Had dinner there with my wife, nice staff and quickly served. The waitress was nice and allowed to substitute chicken with tofu (your choice of regular or fried) for the curry, which was not on the menu. My wife really enjoys the mint chicken but I have to say that the curry was a little watery and tasted like most of the spice came from black pepper. A little odd, would probably try something else next time.”

“Red car is a nice little coffee shop that conveniently located at the Huntington library (right by the entrance). They have both indoor and outdoor seating. Except drinks and pastries, I'm glad that they also sell Fosselman's ice cream, sandwiches, yoghurt parfait, fruits and snacks in the store. They opens early at 8am, and drinks and food are allowed to bring into the Huntington library.”

“It’s comfortable to dine here, and the service staff is very nice, but the food is too expensive. We ordered pizza, grilled vegetables, coffee, and a bottle of water, and it cost 33 US dollars. Two slices of pizza cost 17 US dollars. Is it too expensive? ?It is recommended to provide some affordable menus, otherwise everyone will have to prepare their own meals!”

“I liked this cute coffee shop because it’s so calm and serene “mountain living” type of feel in the forest tundra type of California living place…feels wonderful to sit down in the outdoor sitting with the solid color awning umbrellas and the “basket woven material” chairs that remind me of Paris coffee shops. Parking was so pleasantly available and there wasn’t much city fuss, no crazy noise, no people trying to push their agendas just coffee, food, birds and cutesie mountain living….sigh”

“Food was amazing! The service was bad! Very expensive but I expected to be better taken care of. They were fully staffed but no one seemed to be working efficiently. We were 8 and none of the food runners ever knew who ordered what. They had to ask on every plate they brought. Not just our table but others as well. I don’t know if they have busboys as our table was never cleared. Plates upon plate stacked up. No one asked if we wanted a second drink and the glasses were never picked up. When we ordered dessert we had to move the 16 empty drink and water glasses to one side, gather the bread plates, wipe everything down and wait for our desserts. It was a busy night but not too busy for bad service. I kinda expected more than diner service at such an expensive restaurant.”

“A lifetime of eating Mexican food, living in Mexico and speaking Spanish fluently couldn't have prepared me for the culinary whirlwind that I experienced last night at Damian. Accompanying friends who have been long time patrons of Damian served as personal tour guides through the labyrinth of menu selections that culminated in one of the most memorable meals I have ever had as a native Angelino. What makes Damian so remarkable is the layers of flavors that appear in every dish and the surprising combinations of ingredients that while seemingly so disparate, create a fusion of flavors that one wouldn't think possible in one cuisine. The service is impeccable and the environment relaxing, intimate and simply world class.”

“Hidden away in the city of Los Angeles is this amazing bar that serves one of the tastiest omakase. Entering the bar, you see a bar top that seats approx 10-12 people, with a open kitchen vibe. My partner and I had a great time. The Sunday crew was very nice and attentive, engaging with the customers and making things fun! The selection of fish was amazing, definitely a different experience compared to other omakase establishments I've been to.Parking was very easy since they provided easy simple instructions on their website :). “Made reservations ahead of time and was seated within a couple of minutes of arrival. Service and food were amazing. Ordered 4 dishes between 2 of us and must say that our favorite was the goat liver mousse. The crumpets that accompany the mousse were the star!Parking: Parking is along the street around the restaurant. May be difficult to find parking if coming during peak dinner hours. Some streets may be dark so be wary of surroundings.”

“What an amazing dining experience! From the minute you walk in the door- the detail in the decor, the service , the food- beyond incredible! The artwork is stunning- even the bathroom is worth visiting for the beautiful wallpaper and decor. The setting is intimate and warm. You can feel the love from the servers and the love put into the food. The flavors are so unique and delicious. There is something for everyone- vegans and carnivores which we had some of each at our table. Each dish was as good as the next. I was hesitant about ordering the trout but it was the stand out dish for me. The delicate, moist white fish inside the crispy skin. I couldn't get enough! I never knew Ethiopian food had scrumptious desserts- to die for! The food is so delicate and healthy that you feel great afterwards despite probably overeating. Can't wait to go back!!”
